Part 1 of the latest podcast is now available to download. This week, Rob Chandler and I look back at a mixed bag of results and performances, and preview our trip to Wembley. Unfortunately due to a combination of time constraints, producers going on holiday and Rob and I managing to record more than an hour's material, we've had to split this one up into two 30-minute segments. The first is available now, the second (and the full combined version) will be available early next week. You'll probably notice the not-very-subtle edit point! To subscribe via iTunes, click "Advanced" and then "Subscribe to Podcast", and enter the following URL: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/podcasts/podcast.xml You can also subscribe via RSS at the same URL. If you've got a relatively recent web browser, from the main SaintsWeb home page, you can simply click on the RSS icon at the top of your browser. Feedback is obviously welcomed, either here or via email to podcast@saintsweb.co.uk

Where are the facts to back up that statement? Even allowing for inflation, when I passed my test in 2000, the price of a litre of unleaded petrol was about 75p. I paid 117p on Saturday. That's a 56% increase...

Did you call in Trading Standards? If that allegation were true, it would be illegal practice on ASDA's part...

Factually inaccurate as well, as it was his 3rd goal. For some bizarre reason, the Press Association credited the injury-time equaliser in the Norwich JPT game to Harding, even though it was Papa Waigo who scored it... easily confused, those two!

Strange timing, thought they played well on Saturday against Arsenal. No end-of-season karaoke now

Chrome does bookmark synchronisation, which saves your bookmarks within your Google account and reloads them into Chrome wherever you are, which accomplishes pretty much the same thing. I would presume the Google Toolbar saves them in the same place, so try turning bookmark syncing on. Hopefully a right-minded individual can create a theme for Chrome that is similar to the Firefox persona

Sounds as though we've given Leeds a reduced allocation, probably after they arsed us around for the game at their place before Christmas.

Sure I read somewhere recently that the prize fund is now £500k. No idea whether we get a share of the Wembley gate receipts, but clearly we'll have got money from the two TV appearances (Charlton and MK Dons first leg) as well as the big crowd for the MK Dons second leg.

Badly-written article, no more, no less. The only circumstance that they would not pursue the case in its current form is if the appointment of the administrator is proven to be valid, but nothing has been said in a statement by either party to suggest this is the case yet. If the appointment is valid, they'll be deducted 9 points and the winding-up petition will be stayed - not dropped. They certainly wouldn't "drop" the case, i.e. say "no, don't worry about all that money you owe us", anyone seriously thinking they've done that is on another planet.

It really isn't. It's safe, but then so is any other browser if you use it sensibly. It's no easier or harder than any other browser. It's certainly not the fastest, particularly in the latest version (3.6). Hideous memory leaks all over the place, I managed to get it to use 1.7GB of RAM last week, and as a result am no longer using it. Google Chrome now has my attention...

Have Pompey got rid of Jacobs?

Chester being wound up should be looked as a positive for the fans, they've been pleading with the Football League, Football Conference and FA to take action against their owners for ages. It now allows them to make a fresh start without the nasty smell of Stephen Vaughan hanging around the club running it into the ground.

Because it's not been confirmed whether they're actually entitled to go into administration. Once the hearing's taken place on Monday, if it turns out they were entitled to call in the administrators, they'll get the points taken off.

It's certainly possible they've made a trading profit (albeit still unlikely just on the basis that they've required bailouts on a monthly basis a number of times this season), but very unlikely there would be any corporation tax due as I think you can offset previous losses against it.

They could save 50 "ordinary" jobs in one big hit by sacking Storrie, FFS
-
No real surprise and the majority of their fans have actually been hoping for it for a while. They are in the process of setting up a new club for next season, and with the old one (and the various characters involved) well and truly out of the picture, they can now get on with it and start afresh. About bloody time.
-
Which one don't they fail on then?
-
Apparently, even if Pompey qualify for the Europa League through the FA Cup, they won't be able to play in it as they didn't apply for a UEFA club licence in time
-
It seems fairly clear, based on various snippets that have come from the walls of St Mary's that Cortese fits that description. What was a 5-year plan to get to the Premier League may now even be a 3-year plan for him. Whether Herr Liebherr shares that relative lack of patience or not is unknown.
