  1. Surely then, by pure mathematics, we can afford to drop approximately 0.7 points per game...
  2. Torres out for 6 weeks, Benayoun out for a month, Gerrard out for 2 weeks. It's only going to get worse before it gets better
  3. Haven't been keeping totally up to date on this thread, so don't know if it's been posted already, but here's a well-written article on the whole situation: http://www.twohundredpercent.net/?p=4281
  4. This is going well...
  5. From what I've seen of him in the last couple of seasons, I'm particularly underwhelmed by this signing, to be honest. Hoping he's one of those players who just needed a fresh start somewhere...
  6. We use vBulletin. RSS feeds are a feature of the new version of the software, so that'll be done - not sure about WAP/mobile posting though.
  7. That was one of the most tedious games I've seen for a very long time.
  8. That as well, but Baj is working on that, not me.
  9. Thought I'd give everyone a brief update on what we've got planned for the site in the not-too-distant future. Firstly, there is a brand new version of the forum software available, which I have been working with to try to integrate the prediction league, the fixture list, a stats section, etc. Unfortunately, even though they've released a "production" version of the software, I'm not happy enough with the quality of it at the moment - there are loads of fundamental bugs in it which would cause us problems, so I'm not prepared to install it until those bugs have been fixed. That means that I will probably reschedule the major upgrade (and it will be a VERY major upgrade) for the summer. When that upgrade happens, I'm hoping the following will be available: Rogues Gallery Away Ground Guide, with interactive map, directions, pubs, hotels, public transport links, etc Player Profiles Full match reports with lineups and stats An updated smiley list Er, that's probably it for now, can't think of anything else I was supposed to do
  10. Sky Sports News' ticker is saying Ward has signed on an 18-month contract. So much for
  11. I'm sure Fabio Capello's quaking in his boots after that result...
  12. Do I detect a hint of sarcasm there?
  13. The article doesn't actually say whether they'll be locked down or not, tbf.
  14. Have heard the same. If the reason given is true, Cortese really must have been having "one of those weeks" - it happened not long after the Echo ban.
  15. Watford are a listed company - plenty of attention in their direction from the regulators...
  16. http://www.rosebowlplc.com/news/afridi-signed-for-t10/
  17. Seems fairly obvious. Who out of the Pompey squad would be able to construct proper sentences rather than the usual footballer soundbites and might have a direct line into the Guardian sport desk? Perhaps someone who writes a weekly column for their Sunday edition...
  18. Playing squad worth £50-55m  Under "firesale" conditions, they can scrub 60% of that value off to begin with.
  19. Hmmm... http://www.pfcfinancialservices.co.uk The irony
  20. I'll be forever suspicious of supposed "big players" going out of their way to put their side of events to prominent fans or fan groups after the bull**** we took from all comers in the last few years. If he wants to help the club, why doesn't he just write off the debt that's owed to him? Simple answer, because he's not actually that bothered.
  21. With the cold weather, they could use the excuse that their assets have been frozen...
  22. Why were you out driving in conditions like that? I wouldn't dream of attempting to drive if I knew the road conditions were actually dangerous. It's all well and good driving in heavy rain or fog, cars have features built into them to deal with them as far as they can (with a bit of driver common sense as well), but thick ice is so unpredictable and dangerous, I'd go as far as to say that it's irresponsible to attempt to drive in those conditions and I wouldn't be surprised if insurance companies took the same view.
  23. The company will keep the records, yes, but Gaydamak doesn't own the club anymore, so he doesn't have access to them anymore. Apparently. :---)
  24. That is genuinely laughable. I have a copy of their 2007 accounts (out of morbid curiousity more than anything else) and their debt stood at £67m, with assets only worth £33m
