  1. The commute itself isn't too bad, to be honest. It's the dragging myself out of bed at 6am bit that's the hard part. Oh, and I'm generally asleep again at about 9.30pm.
  2. Fixed.
  3. If we draw a top Premier League team in a cup competition, I'm almost certain that the three closed corners will be opened straight away.
  4. How the hell did you get them so cheap? A return from Southampton Central to London Waterloo at peak time is £57.60.
  5. Cheers, fixed.
  6. This drug is cake. It's an entirely made-up drug. There is no evidence to support its effects, but it is scientific fact.
  7. Don't think that one would have made any difference as Derby still only needed to score their last one to win anyway. It was still a **** penalty though...
  8. When you click edit, it should dynamically turn your post into an edit box (although the quick reply box at the bottom will still be visible). It does seem to jump the screen to the wrong place, which is mildly annoying, and is probably one of the many little things we've got to iron out over the next few weeks.
  9. To be honest, I think I've seen about 5 people complain about the price. Also, you seem to whinge about how we run the forum regardless of whether it's free or subscription-based, so I would suggest you don't bother wasting your (or our) time and go and set up your own Saints forum on a similar platform and pay for it all out of your own pocket. I have a feeling we might be waiting some time...
  10. Given that the other options seem to have been Strauss, Flintoff and Rob Key, I don't think there was really any other decision to be made. While I'd have actually liked Rob Key to have got the job as he's proven himself as a captain and top opening batsman on the county circuit, you can't just bring someone in to captain the side who hasn't played international cricket for a number of years. You've really got to have someone as captain who's almost undroppable in terms of what they bring to the team ability-wise as well as a good leader. Vaughan was exactly that until he got his knee injury. Since then he's been very inconsistent and I think he's made exactly the right call by standing down now. It gives KP a chance to captain the side in a test match where the team will be under very little pressure because the series is already lost.
  11. We're hoping to have a "work-safe" skin in place shortly. In the meantime, the best option may be to view the forum using the "Archive" feature (link at the foot of the page) and then switch back to the normal view when you want to post something.
  12. Local is the Winston on the corner of Archers Road and Hill Lane. Not too bad, although for a predominantly student-oriented pub, it's pretty expensive.
  13. Try clearing out your cache and cookies and logging in again. You should be able to pay in any currency. I believe we've had overseas members pay already, presumably in Euros or USD. Long story. Short version is database crashed on Friday. Loads of posts were lost. Post counts reduced for pretty much everyone as a result.
  14. The company was set up in January (I think) when me and Baj first suggested the idea. For one reason or another, which I won't go into, there wasn't universal agreement on it, so it was shelved for a while. We re-raised the idea about 3 or 4 weeks ago and got support from the entire admin team, and were going to take our time to implement it all. However, the database crashing (and seemingly not wishing to be fixed) on Friday meant that we decided to work our arses off over the weekend to get it up and running asap. There are a few things that need tinkering with, for example the adverts aren't live yet because in order to be approved for Google AdSense you need a live working site (which we didn't have over the weekend!). Also, the skins are a bit flaky, IMO, and they'll need a bit of hacking so they look right, e.g. modifying the layout so the username and user information appears down the left of all posts rather than over the top.
  15. If they've finished making a complete mess of Millbrook Roundabout then yes, the speed limit will be back up to 50. And of course if you go through it within 50 and it flashes you, there's not a cat in hell's chance they'll actually be able to prosecute you for it.
  16. Damn you for being a slightly faster geek than me And anyway, it's Adobe Flash now...
  17. It's something we'll definitely look into. In the meantime, there is the "Archive" feature, which is a much more work-safe way of viewing the forum. Unfortunately it doesn't offer the ability to reply, but you could always come back into the main view to actually post. Archive Link
  18. Expect it'll be the weekend before that gets done, I'm afraid.
  19. Because they can afford to do so. In which case, I would ask you where you would expect us to find the money to pay for the required infrastructure, given that it runs (very very comfortably) into 4 figures? Would you expect me and Baj to pay for it all out of our own pocket and out of the goodness of our hearts? Personally, I don't think that's particularly realistic. I do agree, and SaintsWeb, for the most part, follows that principle. The main site (when it's up and running) will be run on that basis, and everybody can post on the forum without paying (obviously with limitations to encourage people to subscribe). However, in order for the forum to cover its costs, we have to bring in revenue from somewhere (and it sure as hell isn't coming from my bank account as the money simply isn't there), just like the vast majority of sites elsewhere on the internet. As it's your third post of the day, I guess that means I get the final word I await your response tomorrow
  20. You get the option of logging in to your account above the "Don't have a PayPal account?" link.
  21. You don't need a PayPal account. When you go through the subscription process, you'll be taken to the PayPal site. At the bottom, there's a link that says "Don't have a PayPal Account? Pay using your credit card or bank account" (or something similar). Click that, enter your card details and you're done. Or at least that's the theory.
  22. All also funded by multi-million (or billion) dollar investments and aggressive advertising revenue generation.
  23. Yes. 0700 train to Waterloo, returning on the 1805.
  24. With Flintoff returning, I guess it's not much of a surprise that Mascarenhas is the one to make way. At least it means he's available to Hampshire for the forseeable future...
  25. Just in case anyone's lost their avatar from the old forum, you should be able to do a Google Image seach of " avatar" and it should find it
