Southampton v Portsmouth Charity Match
chrisobee replied to Matthew Le Tissier's topic in The Saints
Isn't he a local league Ref in Southampton? I suspect this is him : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2331519/All-for-the-love-of-the-game-even-after-42-years-of-abuse.html Edit : I love this quote : "He abandoned one game after just 10 seconds when two players broke their legs in a challenge. And once, in 1967-68 (don't forget he's an accountant), he lost control of a match in Millbrook, Southampton." -
Probably because it is the second-largest day for U.S. food consumption, after Thanksgiving Day !

Usual over reaction. It was one of those games where both sides were determined to win and in pretty poor conditions too. As mentioned above Arsenal contrived to throw away a 4 goal lead and they are one of the top 3 teams in the country never mind Man Utd losing at Wolverhampton. I imagine Arsenal fans especially are presently throwing themselves off a cliff en mass !! A draw is a decent result, just of course these days 3 points for the win makes a late equaliser more galling. But given our late winner at Exeter 4 points from 2 difficult away games is a good return, nothing is close to being settled yet. I'm still confident of finishing in the top 2, I'm certainly not going to believe one game we didn't even lose makes or breaks a season !

There really isn't any need for sarcasm, get back to feeding your face

Maybe there is a way to utilise Twitter, a bit of vague idea but Jack Saville is a friendly guy, could be a lead ? http://twitter.com/#!/JackSaville

Well this might be the reason http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/feb/01/chelsea-losses-uefa-fair-play?CMP=twt_gu

Oh well, I did have a quick look and found this instead. Seems apt somehow : http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?23539-I-ve-Just-Seen-Some-UFO-s

Agreed.

This topic was covered ages ago. Even if I was sure the thread was still here ( it probably isn't TBH) I can't be bothered to go looking for it. However, conclusion reached ( based on actual FACTS) was the EDL is inherently racist. I'm sure things have not changed, at least not for the better.

Yep, spot on guys !!

No point fining a club with no money Anyway aside from the stupidity of the punishment Holloway has "offered" his resignation which the Chairman isn't going to accept so Holloway will be going nowhere.

Fat bloke from Pompey tries to get fatter so he can stop being fat

Um, last I checked diabetes, which he suffers from, is an illness As in this case you often gain weight over time so even if he exercised he would still probably continue to gain weight. So aside from wherever he comes from the correct medical treatment for him would be the operation. Being turned down as he is not big enough is just wrong. -
Fair to say that generally these lower league teams put the cheats that prevail higher up to shame. Borehamwood isn't far from here and I have seen them play a few times, invariably the games are played in good spirit.

The OP is absolutely spot on except for some, including myself, this "Instant Personalisation" is not yet available. However, the default setting is "enabled" which is absurd. Those I know who have found "IP" in place have, not surprisingly, uncheched the enabled box. I would agree with Deppo for the first time ever except as everyone knows he knows only how to post sarcastic remarks, I thought you were banned young man to be honest

That would be my strategy too lol. You know what they say about great minds of course:lol:

Of course you are right. The offers are always pitched well below the average amount of money left per box. The inclination to go on is therefore greater but misses the point that whilst this would always make more money over time ( the best professional gamblers achieve profit due to a large extent to the fact they able to judge when a horse priced 3/1 should be really be say a 2/1 shot, thus in the long run they will win ) as a one-off nothing is guaranteed. When the contestants start to cry that's when I invariably turn off !!

I think that's the most serious issue It's banal in the extreme !

I just knew you would say that, sooooooooo predictable

Yes, as per post 7 to be honest

Yep, I pretty much agree with this. Even at County level there is too much cricket. Corky for one played too often last season in my view as we we were lacking options. Injuries definitely seem more prevalent these days so back up is needed though getting the right balance is a thankless task as the Ervine situation indicates. I suspect we signed Myburgh as a replacement but when Ervine agreed to stay we weren't going to say no ! The younger players will get chances, especially in the one day games, but as with Bates last season it's likely injuries etc; will allow opportinities in the 4 day game. I always regarded Tremlett highly but a move was the best option I am convinced, agree it is sad when a local lad leaves but good he's regained the form he showed in glimpses with us and always seemed capable of. Dawson bowled very little last year, I seem to recall Weston Saint stating he was going to play primarily as a batsman. I have faith in our Management team that they'll strike a good balance so everyone gains match experience, the WI 20/20 series was excellent in terms of experience of different conditions.

Which explains why I couldn't find anything on the Hants website Maybe I was thinking of Myburgh or De Wet, I just remember something. This clearly illustrates why I started this thread !!
