Not saying there was no trouble, just I don't remember. It happens as you get older!
  3. What a load of old cobblers, nothing else to say really other than it ranks amongst the more ridiculous posts on here and that IS an achievement.
  4. It is and I'm Select Racing. However, I have not posted on there for a couple of months until yesterday though I may try to make it a regular thing again though for me the main problem is the inability to post anything than your standard win/ew/place/lay bets when often I suggest eg reverse forecasts and then I need to add an extra message. Both tips/messages are sent by email once I ok it. Fair to say though there are some very good free tipsters on there who you can follow for free for varying periods, depends on their settings.
  5. Ok.
  6. Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat !!!
  7. Who fortunately have more sense than to sack a Manager so soon.

Ah, give me Danny Dyer and Football Factory any day!
  9. Thanking you !
  10. TBH I'm not sure you're really in a position to preach to other people when you are as culpable as they are.
  11. Our so so defence which did not concede a goal you mean :smt102

Well it wasn't me ! The main trouble was in the car park pre match, luckily my mates and me were not wearing scarves and of course being at OT any accent other than a Mancunian one was generally assumed to belong to a Man U fan !
  13. Oh yes I still have the programme albeit a bit dog eared now but who cares!
  14. Well it might be hard to pick any of us out but you never know ! Just make damned sure though you do post it on here now
  15. Actually the main "criticism" came from the East Stand where they preferred just to stamp their feet if things were not going well, poor things could not even be bothered to open their mouths!

It would have been our rematch with them in 1976/77 when we drew at the Dell and lost the replay, some pretty nasty scenes at Old Trafford I recall from Man U fans including spitting at the Saints team coach and the police just standing by doing nothing. Can't say I recall the trouble at the home game though.

Oh yes and I do believe it was so called Saints fans caused most of it. At the Dell Spurs in 1977/78 was bad even though a 0-0 draw secured promotion for both teams. In fact that was probably the worst season I can remember with real trouble v Millwall ( home) and away at Charlton, Brighton and Fulham ( mainly Chelsea fans I recall) so mainly the usual suspects and those without even having to think about it.
  18. Guess it will have to do IMO
  19. Blimey, I have never kept a ticket stub in my life! Even the one for the 1976 FA Cup Final I gave to a friend as a souvenir along with a programme as the poor guy was ill and missed going to the final. That one I might otherwise have kept but probably would long since have lost it !
  20. Agreed though I have always believed in option 2 and it's fair to say some of the criticism aimed at individuals is not acceptable. Ian Branfoot is the one who always springs to mind, a thoroughly decent person, not good enough in truth as a Manager but the abuse he received ( and the arguments I had with people doing it) is something I'll never forget. It went far beyond mere criticism and that to me is not acceptable in any sphere of life. I actually do think players probably accept getting booed when they know they are not performing up to scratch but I would draw the line at singling out individuals as that really is self defeating and in truth unfair in most cases, the main exception being if a player is blatantly not trying and whilst we have had a few in recent years I do believe most players are trying. Unfortunately we've also had even more players who have been out of their depth in recent seasons ! For the current team I think any non triers would soon be weeded out and you don't need a degree in psychology to figure out that in the same way success breeds confidence and more success failure leads to a lack of confidence and that's precisely where we have been at for far too long and whilst it will not change overnight I do see and sense a more positive attitude but oh boy what a difference a win or two would make !!
  21. Agreed but most of the criticism is not constructive and usually way OTT. For sure booing could hardly be called constructive though I suspect a few on here might find a reason for suggesting it is !
  22. Well he can score with his head :
  23. As I mentioned earlier he could not have played anyway as his clearance from Italy is not through yet though heaven knows why it should take more than 5 minutes to send a fax ?
  24. Is this a cue for a sing song :smt102
  25. Well he's clearly far smarter than he looks TBH
