As I have mentioned so many times Lawrie Mac contrived to take us from 7th in Div 1 to relegation in the space of about 6 months. Luckily in those days the game in general and Saints in particular believed that people deserved time to prove themselves. So he remained as manager ( in truth I don't recall it was ever in doubt he would) and as they say the rest is history. Unfortunately the way of things now is people expect miracles overnight, sorry they rarely if ever happen. Frankly any manager who has managed to bring in Harding, Murty, Lambert, Hammond, Mellis ( ok the jury is still out on him,) Jaidi, Papa and Trotman must be doing something right and have a reasonable idea as to what we need. Though of course it appears many people on here are so knowledeable they know better which makes me wonder why they are not working as a Manager or maybe a TV pundit.
