  1. TBH it depends how bad the Alzheimers is.
  2. Good prediction !
  3. No, if anything it just damaged his potential long term. Any benefits from drug taking are long gone and he misses most of the big meetings as he does not get invited so it's actually harder for him to compete consistently at world level. He did remarkably well to get to the final so I'd rather praise him for that than dwell on his past.
  4. Chambers was always a very talented athlete, such a shame he chose to succumb to drug taking. But it's as near as can ever be certain he is drug free now and 10.00 was always in his range so hard to understand that he resorted to taking drugs but even people who commit far worse crimes get a 2nd chance so good luck to him. Easily the best European sprinter but the Caribbean and USA athletes are a class above.
  5. Yep, it might be hard to beat 0.1 seconds though ! What an amazing race with 9.93 not even getting a medal. Michael Johnson was speechless and Bolt might yet lower the 200 metre world record as well which he took from Johnson last year. I'd love to see him try the 400 metres and see what he could achieve. I'm not sure if anyone has ever held 100,200 and 400 metre world records at the same time, certainly not in the post WW2 era that I can recall.
  6. Brilliant performance and then to see Usain Bolt run 9.58, WOW! A great evening of athletics though I guess some people will still harbour doubts as to the legitimacy of those performances. However, from my knowledge of athletics I know what's possible if you have the ability and desire, these two have both in abundance. Both stunning performances in their own way, Ennis missed the Olympics last year through injury but's it just made her even stronger.
  7. Welcome, you were too quick to ask how before I edited my original post to answer that very question !
  8. As above HTBH !!
  9. You can put someone on your ignore list if you so wish ! User CP- Edit Ignore list and add the person you want to ignore. Of course everyone would need to do this in unison for it to be totally effective!
  10. Yep, 1-1. Drogba.
  11. Haha, I still think they'll win though. Drogba should have scored in the 1st minute.
  12. We knew that 2 weeks ago ! http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=15521
  13. Well he is quoted as saying he did not join them for the money. I guess in the same way most of us go to work as we love it so much and would do it for nothing !
  14. After 2 games ! The football world really has gone crazy !
  15. I'm sure he'll take at least 3 months before he remembers his players names!
  16. Simple, if it bores you just leave it.
  17. Must be the Eriksson influence, can't think why else he'd drop down to League 2.
  18. Of course it's not even necessary to warn anyone about our delayed preperation, I'm guessing you don't bet much as if you did I'm sure you'd lose if you weren't aware of that type of basic information, rather like not being aware you're backing a 3 legged horse!. Still that's another whole subject in itself. I can say I have never ( at least not deliberately) challenged anyone's right to a reasonable opinion and to voice it. As someone famous once said, I think it was the historian AJP Thompson, whilst he would argue with someone he did not agree with he would fight with his dying breath to allow the person the right to that opinion. On the whole reasonable people would accept that though of course there are obvious boundaries not to cross in terms of racist, homophobic opinions and comments etc; However, the MLT/Pinnacle thing has been done to death, as far as I'm concerned it's in the past and unless there is good reason to raise it then why do it. In this case I'm assuming you thought the fact he had posted that article gave cause to raise the issue again, I don't agree as I'm entitled to do so. Anyway I'm not out to hound you or any individual, as they say if the cap fits wear it !!
  19. Agreed, I find this type of behaviour disrespectful to the person who started the original thread. In this case of course it happens to be me but clearly it does not matter who it was. I certainly did not anticipate anyone bringing MLT's involvement with Pinnacle into it, how stupid of me !
  20. Thanks, indeed I did and NOT to start another argument TBH !
  21. Perhaps all Saints fans should request a free bet ! Anyway as always Matt refers to Saints as "we" and this is his League 1 assessment: https://www.sportingbet.com/t/LeTissier/matt.aspx LEAGUE ONE What a star studded line up League One is this season, I can’t remember it ever being this competitive. Firstly I have to start with my old club Southampton, the appointment of Alan Pardew is a decent appointment and his experience higher up the pyramid will hold him in good stead. But with of course the 10 point deduction hanging over our heads it’s gonna be a tough old season and we need to get off to a flyer and get rid off that penalty quickly. To be honest I think the play-offs will be the best we can hope for. My tip for glory is LEEDS, Simon Grayson will have a full season in charge this time and I think they have a strong squad. The loss of Fabian Delph is a blow but I think they’ll be fine. Lee Clark looks like a young manager with a big future and I except a bold show from his Huddersfield side at 8/1. As discussed there are some massive clubs in the division this year and only a fool would write off Charlton and Norwich from the equation. Those fans expect success
  22. Make that on ANY thread
  23. I'll give you full marks for trying though no one is going to bite it seems !!
  24. Pretty sure the rules are mighty complicated! However, I do have an idea that a player can play after 4/5 years of residence though I also believe if they have played for another country during that period that rules them out for the length of the residency period. ie if they are resident here 2000 onwards but played for another country say until 2009 ( as per Symonds) then it will be 2113/14 before they become eligible for another country. I'm not sure even I totally understand what I've written but I get the gist of it ! Am trying to think back to Keppler Wessels who was the 1st player to play at test level for 2 countries, played his last game for Australia I think in 1985 but then went on to play and captain SA. I think that was around 89/90 though there were unofficial tours during this time including one by England led by Mike Gatting to SA in which Wessels played for SA. However, to answer the question I'm 99.999% sure Symonds could not play for us !!
  25. Yep, I should think so too
