I completely agree, what Truss did was stupid, whilst I agree with tax cuts, you don't borrow to achieve it, which is why she is no longer pm. But the way people on here have said it's all the fault of the tories is simply not true, it's global thing caused by the covid lockdowns
-
I see the American interest rates are going up .75% today to 3.75% the same as ours will most likely be this week. Those dastardly tories, their incompetence is now rubbing off on the Americans, Truss has a lot to answer for don't you think, single handedly destroying the world.

Mortgages are going up because the bank of England put the base rates up to combat inflation. We've got inflation because we switched the economy off for 2 years, told everyone to stay home and printed money to keep them there. Irrelevant whether the tories or labour were in power the same would have happened, in fact Starmer wanted us locked down longer. The rest of what you say is waffle, I don't see many poor souls crossing the channel, I see mostly full grown men who have abandoned their families for a better life, unlike the Ukrainians who made sure their women and children got out, then went back to fight for their country. Imagine being in such fear of your life you run past 10 houses who could take you in and protect you so you could get to the one at the end which seems much nicer than the others. What a load of nonsense about hating a section of society, the labour deputy was caught calling tories scum, how nice of her, you have others saying that tory politicians who happen to not be white are coconuts, hmm how very nice and civil. Seems to me the labour party are the party of hate, I'm sorry if you can't deal with it but you need to stop reading the guardian. In the meantime I'll continue to wait to see how labour will rebuild the economy and get my mortgage rates down, cos I'll happily vote for them then At the end of the day, I'll support either party, but labour at this point in time don't appear to be the party who would look after the cv
-
I agree re Truss, totally ridiculous plan, as for labours plan, never saw it, maybe they need to do more to get it out there so people like me can get an idea of what they plan on doing. At the moment whenever I hear any of them talk all I hear is how bad the tories are, well ok
-
Pretty much how I see the labour party and the left in general, they're all too busy hating rich people and tories to propose anything productive which might win my vote How are they going to stop my mortgage payments raising by £500 a month next year? How they going to reduce my utilities bill from £350 a month. How they going to stop enough people crossing the channel in dinghies to fill St Marys more than 3 times over in a year. Seems to me they have better things to discuss like Islamaphobia and whether women have penises than helping real working class people like me. You can put the vile James O'Brien up there with Owen Jones as another nasty left wing knob

Pretty sure Ralph knew, he was convinced we were getting one the whole window

What the fuck is it with the back 3 shit, no attacking intent whatsoever, it may work against arsenal last week, but for fuck sake this is Palace take the fucking game to them

Completely agree with him, there should be no chest thumping from the West, the people of Russia should be encouraged to build a democratic country themselves, we need to show them we're not a threat to them and we don't want to take over Russia. Their eyes need to be opened to what their elites have done and stolen from them and how their lives can be so much better than it is now. We cannot just abandon them to the next gangster who comes along, but at the same time we cannot be seen to be trying to put a puppet government in place. It will be a tricky few years for the Russians after the war, they seem like a people who've had subjugation engrained in them for years and it's a hard thing to break free from.

Question is would he be willing to let off nukes, if he's dieing as some suspect, would he care, has he purged anyone he thinks would stop him. Could he drag China, Syria, Iran etc into it
-
Think Putin would probably be happy with carnage, be able to stoke up more hatred of Ukrainians and maybe even get more support for a general mobilisation. As for the pipelines being destroyed, if it is him, he's daring the West, what do we do if we catch one of his subs or frogmen deploying more explosives, sink the sub, kill the frogmen, surely that would be ww3 starting?
-
He's basically gone all in, whether he's bluffing or not we'll have to see, I'm not sure he is to be honest, he's been backed into a corner, his mouth pieces have been talking about using nukes for months, now he is, once he's annexed parts of Ukraine he'll have the excuse he wants and will tell people I tried to warn you. The question we have to ask ourselves is, are there people in Russia willing and able to stop him using them, or have they all been purged. The West absolutely have to act in kind if he does this, he cannot feel like he's let off any nuke with no consequence.

not sure what Ralph is supposed to say, they're clearly willing to let him go providing they have a decent replacement, if that replacement arrives and Che is sold afterwards after Ralph said he wouldn't be sold he'd be called out for being a liar. Pretty obvious Everton tried it on with a loan and got told to do one.

I thought it was hilarious how the labour party, bbc, sky news etc haven't talked about the criminals Sir Keir or Raynor and the corrupt Durham police force, I thought they'd mention it every day, in every interview with them, but no, not a peep, where is this great journalism they were showing when they were hounding Boris on the eve of the Russian invasion, wonder why that is. Oh that's right the 2 criminals are in the correct party and aren't posh. Labour, corruption at it's best as I have no more comments left Whitey Grandad response to Criminals? What makes you say that? wasn't Boris branded a criminal, for having a cake given to him, in his place of work, by people he worked with everyday? Sir Keir and Raynor travelled 250 miles to meet people they don't work with to have beer and curry, then put pressure on the police, who then found no case to answer, in my eyes they are both criminals and the Durham police force is corrupt. The only thing Boris did wrong was not own the situation and just went with the line 'I did nothing wrong' and he had to go, but these 2 are far more sinister, no media coverage, the Durham police force backing them up. Imagine how the guardian would have reacted if that was Boris.

buy portsmouth football club, slowly run it into the ground and down through the leagues until it's no longer viable, then turn fratton park into a mega bowl
-
so we sign a player who seems promising and the first thing you notice is the colour of his skin, shows exactly the type of person you are
-
Well I just hope you're both right, depends how rational they are and whether they'll be willing to spin withdrawing all their troops from the East of Ukraine as a victory because I can't see Ukraine surrendering and why should they, we wouldn't.
-
I'm not convinced the war will end with his demise, I'm sure there are other gangsters in the background equally as bad if not worse just waiting to take the reigns, I can imagine the only people able to pull off getting rid of him aren't going to be particularly moderate

I know I can't vote yet, the problem is by then people will have made their minds up. I feel he's too weak with the far left of his party. He's already talked of replacing the royal family with an elected head of state, I like the institution of the royal family. He was against Brexit and has talked of reversing it in the past, I feel whilst he may not reverse it, he'd have us in by the back door, just ask Anna McMorrin, so he doesn't believe in democracy then, how very trustworthy. I dislike the hateful Angela Raynor, calling people tory scum His opinion that some women can have penises, what's he talking about of course they can't, yet more lying to try and win votes I disliked the way he was unpatriotic until he realised he had to be to win votes, lying right there just for votes what about this curry business, apparently that was ok, personally I don't care either way, but comes across as ok for him but not for Boris I know he's got a past with the hard left socialist solicitors organisation, don't know much about it, but has his views changed that much and that's my 3 -

I've said before I've voted labour and I would again if I could trust them, I don't mind more money going in to improve things, but I want value for money, not the current shambles it is now, there needs to be reform, it's not my place to suggest what the reforms are, if perhaps the opposition could then maybe they'd win a few votes. Your comment about any party probably being better is a typical labour viewpoint, vote for us, we're not the tories and Boris is a cunt and I'm sorry this view point does not win votes, things could easily get worse and at this point in time I feel labour would make my life worse. -

I'm a floating voter and have drifted between labour and conservative in the past depending on what I think they'll do for me. I'm all too willing to vote labour if I think they'll make my life better so I'd like to know the following how will they solve the nhs crisis? pumping more money in doesn't count as it doesn't work it needs reform, how will they do that? how will they solve the care crisis? how will they solve inflation and the cost of living crisis, taxing rich people doesn't count, more windfall taxes don't count as they're short term and can put off investment as businesses like structure, not the goalposts continuously moving. what is their education policy, how can they improve it? it needs more than just money pumped in what is their tax policy, will I be able to hand my house to my children, or will they lose it through tax? how will they solve the migrant crisis, engaging with the french doesn't count as we have already tried that and they have weaponised it, we all know they could stop it overnight if they so wish. In fact what is their immigration policy, how will they control it? how will they solve the Northern Ireland issue? how will they keep Scotland in the union? are they going to lead us back in to the EU by the backdoor? is the monarchy under threat under their stewardship? are they going to increase military spending? what's their stance on Ukraine, Russia, Nato and trident? what they going to do about women in sport and women only spaces, I want my wife and daughter kept safe from men deciding they might be a woman They could attract me to voting for them if they I knew what their policies for even a few of the questions above, at this time I don't trust labour and I certainly don't trust starmer, maybe they should work on that instead of calling the prime minister obi wan kenobi. As far as I can tell labour aren't for the working man, they seem to have an undercurrent of anti British and anti English sentiment. You seem like a thoroughly nasty person with comments about greased piglet, but I guess in your bigoted world that's ok as he's posh and he's a tory, I did rise above the urge to call you names as it's counter productive. Whilst I'm not a particularly big fan of Boris, I can see why he has appeal, labour should be able to see this and need to stop playing the man, they need the public to trust the labour party, which currently I don't. The answer to any of this is not, what are the tories doing about it, they're in power, tell me how labour will win my vote. -
with my glass half full attitude I think this is most likely, as you say we were doing pretty well back then, so no need to panic buy, I'm hoping they're playing down what their plans are and we'll have a couple of nice surprises. The proof in the pudding will be after the transfer window closes and we've only bought a young lad from a Swedish reserve team, JWP and KWP have both been flogged and we get the normal, we tried our best but it's a tough market line rolled out, till then I'd like to think the owners are little more ambitious than that
-
To be honest I don't care whether you believe me or not, not even sure I believe it, I don't even know if my mate believes who told him, we were talking in the pub last night and this is what he said, probably all bullshit, difference is we didn't hassle him saying well tell me who said it or I won't believe you, we just talked about what he said, then moved on, maybe you should do the same
-
A mate of mine reckons he's been told Staplewood aint a happy place at the moment, Ralph has let it be known he's not happy with the lack of backing from the board, along with a couple of players who want out and others who've been told they can leave. For what it's worth I'm not sure anyone could do better than Ralph with the lack of funds he has, they might have the team playing more consistently where our losses are spread out over the season and we win and lose the games we expect to, whereas with Ralph we have massive ups and downs, playing like world beaters for a while, beating and drawing with top teams, then playing like dog shit for a while losing against everyone including the teams we'd expect to beat. The end result of both ways would be we end up in the same place in the league. The problem is the lack of funds, whilst we're all blaming Ralph the owners are getting an easy ride, they've bought a football club and haven't invested any money, that's their choice, but if you only pay peanuts you get monkeys, just look at the team last night, most of them would only get in teams just promoted, the ones which are any good will soon be off. You'll see over the next few weeks players being linked through the press, everyone excited by the names, but nothing will come of it, most likely as we don't pay the wages or fees. The new season will start and we'd have brought in some hopeful from the lower leagues or some untested kid from a second rate foreign league, then everyone will blame the manager when we get spanked each week.

Think Ricky Gervais summed it up rather nicely in his standup when he said how he loves to help refugees and in fact even went to Dover to help out, as the first boat arrived he called out woman and children first..... oh, just you young men is it. I see the biggest difference being the men of Ukraine have stayed behind to fight for their country, whilst ensuring their women and children are taken to safety, the people fleeing Syria just seem to be young guys who have left because they want a better life, I don't blame them one little bit, but at the same time I don't have the same sympathy for people who have just abandoned their families so they can improve their lives. I got a friend who has applied to take in a Ukrainian family, mother and 2 children, he was speaking to them over zoom whilst they were still in Ukraine, on speaking to the father, the father misunderstood him and thought my friend said he's looking forward to them staying with him, the father replied, 'oh no, I stay and fight the invaders, you look after my family and when the invaders are dead I drive to England and get my family. That is someone I respect and want to give refuge to.
