What always amazes me is how naive some fans seem to be. Why would NC have anything but the best interests of Southampton FC at heard ESPECIALLY at a time when he's lost one of his closest friends whereby Southampton FC meant so much to ML. Sometimes it's wiser to say less than more, I believe NC is very much that kind of man. For the gossipers on here it's a shame as we no have lots to talk about, however as a fan I'm much happier to see things this way....it shouts PROFESSIONALISM and a refreshing change to past regimes at Saints. Time to be the Saints, through thick and thin....we'll get where we want to be, it'll just take time...

A man whom walking with Integrity, Principles and truly was a born-again Christian Jew....something very rare. Respect for the man that was a Saint, Bought the Saints and now lives with the Saints.

I can tell one thing....Cortese definately isn't a PR man! But he knows what he wants and wont take any prisoners.....and the fans love that.

Good move by Cortese. I'm glad he doesnt' respond every time the media start gossiping. In the long term it'll increase then sense of stability at the club, letting his actions speak louder than words. However I wasn't too happy with his direct comments to individuals, I felt this wasn't the most helpful. We don't want to make enemies of our best friends in the media if we can avoid it.

Have to say sometimes articles like this just seem to be written to divide club and fans....isn't it about time Southampton got some good PR from the press? Cortese I feel it seems is very misunderstood by many on here and I can understand why. Unless you've been in business and demand the highest standards from your staff you'll never reach the top. This is what Cortese demands....I respect him for that. My only personal disagreement in the way he comes across is his lack of thankfulness towards Pardew and the EXCELLENT job he's done in the short time he's been here. It seems many of us have forgotten just how amazingly quickly Pardew spotted our issues and began to resolve them 1 by 1. Yes he had the money to do so, but he also demonstrates he knows how to get the best out of the players he's had like Lallana, Davis, Schiederlin & Others that were already at the club. I'm in support of Pardew and Cortese, I think everything is correct at the club now, the only thing that's now required is some patience to see the fruits.

This is sounding like Rooney's season....not much good for 10 then amazing for the last 24.

I remember one weekend going to McDonalds and seeing him ordering loads of stuff when I went in. I was shocked that a professional football player could get away with it at the time....but then it was the Matt Le Tissier - special rules apply ;-)

That's some great info, and I have to say I agree with the views of everything there about the players.

I'm so pleased to see at last a Southampton side having belief that they'll win irrelevant of immediate cirmcumstances the players sometimes find themselves in. My only concern is ....can we keep these players we've got in on loan? some of them are really impressing!

Just when you begin giving up on Saints they go and do this!?! If only we could find this kind of consistency, we'd be looking up rather than down.
