He won't be making these decisions in isolation. He will be under instruction from above. That's how organisations work.
-
You're still sticking with this one? How do you think the board sold (no pun intended) the role to Koeman? What incentive could he have been offered to take over a club in such a position. Just interested.
-
A ground share agreement with Eastleigh would be more appropriate than an expansion of SMS if this selling trend continues.
-
I know it's on the 'rumours' thread but as it's Chambers http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/11368125.Arsenal_and_Saints_discuss___16m_Chambers_deal/?ref=twt Seems talks have been ongoing between the two clubs so a bid should be no surprise. Seems we are quite willing to open dialogue with anyone interested in our players......

I'm not sure I believe this 'hitting all the targets at once'. I can't see how that can happen in practical terms. Maybe it was just an expression used by Guan. Other than that I agree with you. What the club say and do might not always be the same thing!
-
Unfortunately it doesn't appear we are going to move for Vlaar (or A.N.Other CB) until Lovren is sold so that stance wouldn't entirely play out in our favour.
-
Thanks, but too late. I've received an infraction.
-
Sorry to take this thread off-topic (Mods please move my post as appropriate) but SSN suggesting Pochettino is after Vlaar with cash plus Lewis Holtby (The Mirror).

As in Rojo?

I see SkyBet has us at 12/1 to sign Glen Johnson, who it seems is available to leave at the right price, with QPR favourites at 4/1. RB is one position we don't need any extra personnel I would think.
-
Had 9 clubs as well. On the face of it it doesn't light the fires of excitement as a potential signing. Does this sound familiar..... His profile having gained a boost, the player has reportedly told River Plate that he’s not returning, following his extended period of leave, following the World Cup
-
DAILY STAR: Southampton will battle Deportivo La Coruna for River Plate’s £7m-rated striker Teofilo Gutierrez.

Maybe KP could assist with some 're-integration' advice.
-
If it's as simple and uncomplicated as that then so be it. Unprecedented though or is there another example of when a Premiership team lost 5 (I appreciate it's not 5 as yet but quite likely to be) key 1st team players in one transfer window? Other than of course a relegated team dumping their players for purely financial reasons.
-
Well I'm glad you've cleared that up. We can close half a dozen threads now. So these players that are leaving...they weren't good players leading up to the January transfer window or last year or the year prior? Just the last 4 months they've become sought after?
-
Not in one close season transfer window though, that's the big difference. That's what I'm struggling to understand. Lots of circumstances coming together or something else that we're not privy to?
-
I'd be surprised if there was much to argue about that statement. Normally I wouldn't be concerned about the timing of the new arrivals within the window but as it's looking like we will have new players in several key positions they're going to need some time together to hit the start of the season running.
-
I like to think my glass is half-full rather than half-empty but I'm starting to become a little concerned that the 'outs' will not be offset by the 'ins' in terms of either quantity or quality. Hopefully there's plenty of activity going on behind the scenes (in a positive sense)!
-
Part-ex him with Agger who seems unsure he wants to stay. His head is already in Southampton.......well maybe not quite yet.
-
I'm sure there's an element of truth in that (although it was by no means Rickie's best season) but something doesn't sit right that there appears a desire to get away from the club.
-
It's starting to look pretty dire, let's hope the slide is halted sooner rather than later. Still, at least that tyrant Cortese is no longer at the helm eh.
-
That's compulsory attire. It's like a school canteen.
-
RoKoo?
-
I don't recall him saying that. Did he not say it had stalled from our end and we were looking at other targets?
