  2. Great: I shall look forward to us having a potent and silent astassin next season.
  3. The sell-on clause is widely reported as being 20% of the profit made by Ipswich on a sale to another club; bought for £20m and sold for £30m, so City receive £2m is how I believe it will be. Ipswich benefited from having Dollop for a year but will have paid out wages and fees and amortised his cost price over the duration of his five-year contract. I expect that would yield a profit for Ipswich but I don’t know how much. Better than not having him in the first place, I would have thought.
  4. His interests, motivations and communication style is different from those of most of us on here; I have no problem with that but do consider him annoying occasionally. I believe it acceptable to engage in gentle ribbing at times of his undoubted problem with an emphasis on logic and an inability to understand emotive considerations (plenty of other people have similar traits to a greater or lesser degree) but IMO the persistent persecution meted out on this forum by the anti-MLG gang is vastly OTT and reflects badly on those who do it. On balance, I think we gain from his ‘difference”; that might not be accepted by all - fair enough - but thinking otherwise does not justify the incessant abuse that he receives almost every day. You might find it amusing but others do not. Some tolerance and understanding would not go amiss. I totally understand your point of view but not your way of expressing it. Unedifying and unnecessary.
  5. No, just a decent person.
  6. The level of intolerance, lack of understanding and empathy and sheer disregard for anyone who has a different outlook, opinion or behaviour on this forum is shocking. It’s time you all resolved to do better. If you did, this forum would be a better place.
  7. And Chelsea score four goals, without reply, after he gets onto the pitch; some things never change. 😇
  8. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cn7ze01n62po Bad luck for Ella Morris. Hope she recovers soon and gets her form back. 🤞🙏
  9. Are they by chance related?
  10. It’s not like you to be optimistic, FredVAFC. 😉
  11. A lot of that is familiar to us over here, Christophe. One can certainly tell that both clubs are SR ones. Onwards and downwards into adversity and ignominy!
  12. I agree that it was usually boring but not your first point, sorry - see my earlier post: Chelsea and Spuds both have several players who have the skill but if those clubs cannot consistently get it right what chance does lowly Southampton have? We are well rid of him and his ideas, IMO.
  13. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/live/c14x4elp3p3t Yoshida’s nightmare season gets worse. A 7:0 thrashing and now three points from 12 games. LA Galaxy doing an excellent impersonation of Saints in almost every respect. 😥
  14. Mayflower? Titanic? Mary Rose? Or our Saintsy red and white Yellow Submarine?
  15. Posted 48 minutes ago No Craiiiiiiiiiig David? He’s proper bo, I tell thee. more importantly, no Lucy Pinder or Sekou Mara’s mum? Or even a sexy nun?
  16. Dave Challinor; either got promotion or play-offs every year since 2010-11 except 2019-20. Knowing SR, though, we won’t get anybody as successful as that. Yes, I do know he manages Stockport; it’s not a serious suggestion.
  17. I hear that Ancelotti is available: Davide Ancelotti. We could do worse; and probably shall.
  18. I see that the VAFC team consists of only nine players. Perhaps that explains your recent relegations and lacklustre results. I am amazed that no one has realised that and done something about it. 😉
  19. Not quite enough editing, SFCaM. 😏
  20. News about Maya Yoshida, who captained LA Galaxy to win the MLS last year: he has just returned from injury and scored an own goal in LAG’s latest game. LAG seems to be suffering from the same thing as we are this season. 3 points from the first 11 games, 7 behind the next-lowest team. The last game sums up their season: 71% possession, one shot on target, not able to score, concede an own goal, over 700 passes, more than 400 more than the opposition, and 639 accurate passes; the only thing non-Saints like was limiting the opposition to no shots at all. LAG seems to be an SR club in everything but name, with a McCarthy in goal and lots of possession but absolutely no cutting edge whatsoever; the decline from last season’s success beats anything Saints have done. I feel for Maya; his career seems to be fading away into a disaster of massive proportions. 😩
  21. The return of the rabbit man? If Moyes can do it, so can Ralph. https://thescore.com/deu_fed/news/3280583
  22. Now there’s a name from our past (and Chelsea’s). I wish we had now a few who played like him. He’d certainly keep Vardy in his pocket. https://www.saintsplayers.co.uk/player/david-webb/
