  1. Will The Night - Low
  2. TBF I wouldn't think other clubs get info on which players are out of contract from Saints OS.
  3. Bloody good bit of business IMO. No transfer fee, performance-based contract. He scores loads off the bench (even at Newcastle he was scoring just under 1 in every 2 appearances) and his pace isn't an issue as he doesn't play that role anymore. He's quality but he's just been needing quality around him.
  4. Cheers for the tips chaps, I might take it slowly and add a few terraces and roofed seats. The old managing your youth team is proving a painful learning curve, but if I end the season with a couple of genuine prospects then it'll have been worth it.
  5. MLT played under his chairmanship. Soiled by his tarry brush, I say.
  6. What division are you in now? I looked at a thread on one of the Hattrick forums about this and someone advised adding: 3000 Terrace 1500 Basic 1500 Under roof 250 VIP Checked that out and it would cost me £300,000 which is serious cash on my current income.
  7. Are you a fan of The Fall?

    Oh dear Rio

Macheda. Only a thousand pound a night coke habit can get him near the high of that Villa goal. He'll be dead by Christmas.
  9. Ha! I haven't been reading that thread, too much like a punch-up in a fishing net.
  10. Apologies if there's a thread already, couldn't see one... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/4471722.Fialka__reconsiders__withdrawal_of_Pinnacle_bid/
  11. Thread resurrection! So I'm officially Walking This League now and I'm starting to pack out my 12,000 capacity basic arena. Bearing in mind I'm pretty much nailed on for promotion even at this early stage (so will probably need some cash in the close season for squad improvements), how much should I be looking to spend on expanding the capacity? Any advice from more seasoned players would be welcome.
  12. I don't get it?
  13. Recently read The Road, by Cormac McCarthy. Father and son struggling around America after an unnamed apocalypse. Really chilling yet beautiful. And you'll get through it in an afternoon. Also worth a go, on an almost identical theme, was The Pesthouse, by Jim Crace. The focus of this is less sharp but the prose is wonderful.
  14. Jim Smyth's comments accurately sum up the incident. I've tried buying a few things in there over the years, always coming away empty-handed and considering violence.
  15. I'm not sure how anyone's reading this as a bad thing. We're in admin folks, we haven't got an owner. Our coaching staff are out of contract. Wotte has agreed to stay on and keep coaching the squad in preparation for the new season, regardless of whether we get bought and any new buyers choose to retain his services. Good man. Would everyone prefer we just gave up?
  16. Just to be clear, I take it the heritage of the money and its holder isn't the issue here..? That sentence works quite well without the word 'Jewish' in it.
  17. Well..? I really want to know! We'll be playing Giggs in the Autumn?
  18. You'd honestly want to sit in solitude, for the rest of your life, listening to Joy Division? Knowing there would never be anybody's hand to hold ever again?

Thought this was worth at least one lol. I'm wasted on here...
  21. If I was stuck alone on an island, I'd probably want the records that made me most happy, rather than just my favourites (some of which are a bit gloomy or angry). Fela Kuti and Afrika 70 - Zombie Teenage Fanclub - Grand Prix John Coltrane - My Favourite Things Beastie Boys - Check Your Head Joseph Nothing - Dummy Variations Joanna Newsome - The Milk Eyed Mender New Order - Technique Scientist - Scientist Rids The World of the Evil Curse of the Vampires Toots & the Maytals - 20 Massive Hits (sorry Rattlehead, they were a singles band) Miles Davis - Big Fun But I'd probably choose ten completely different albums if, for example, I was stood in front of my collection with 60 seconds to decide before my certain exile.
  22. I suppose when the subject matter of all your early material (and the name of your band) all relates to being skint and out of work, selling out might be a fairly easy decision to make Plus a mate of mine who recently roadied for them says they allegedly have some expensive recreational tastes. Tastes which might persuade a young man to think that he was easily the equal of his heroes and that covering their work might in fact be doing them some sort of honour. Allegedly.

Head Coach? p.s. 'Prince Jazzbo'... great stuff.
  24. You'll notice I'm not trying to make excuses for their **** covers records, just their first couple of albums.
  25. That's a pretty shorn down history. 'Signing Off' and 'Present Arms' are both top examples of UK Reggae. 'Present Arms In Dub' is pretty decent too. They did go dramtically cobblers once they got a bit of success, but lots of bands do. I could use this space to make a case for early Aswad too, but I'd probably get laughed off the thread
