  1. To be fair to us, Wigan did bring a very small away following. Couldn't have been any more than 3/400. Had that game been against any team other than them, the attendance would have been over 30,000, possibly 31,000.
  2. I remember when block 43 was open for a League Cup game against Yeovil circa 2006. It was sold out, everybody was stood from back to front, and for a League Cup game it was a pretty decent atmosphere. I find now that whenever it is open, other than the very very back of the stand, everybody else is sat. It is nice being able to see Saints fans in the Northam on the TVthough, looks like it is exclusively an away end most of the time as the camera doesn't pan round enough to show block 42.
  3. + Reading which you'd already alluded to.
  4. 555 tickets sold since last night. 2,458 remaiming. Northam (block 43 exempted - 829 tickets remain here), Kingsland North & Kinglsand virtually sold out. Odd seats here and there. Blocks 34, 35 and 36 are complete sell outs. Main areas of availability are Chapel, Chapel/Itchen corner, Itchen North. Yet again, the front of block 3 has a big bunch of spare seats together.
  5. I'd really consider starting Osvaldo against Barnsley. Get him off to a flyer with a goal or 2 under his belt, and take him off after about an hour. Hope we put out a strongish team in general too, really want to see us take one of the cup competitions seriously this season, after what Wigan & Swansea did last season there is no reason why we could not make a final. Doesn't bother me which competition it is, League or FA Cup. We have a couple of senior players who could do with the match fitness too, like Clyne who has been injured & Yoshida & Gaston who came back late for pre season. My team would be: Davis Clyne - Stephens - Yoshida - Fox Cork - JWP Isgrove - Guly - Puncheon (if he's still here) Osvaldo Then fill the bench with a mixture of fringe players & some of the u21s.
  6. Prudent. That money will just end up making up for what we could have sold him at an older age. Very good business by Cortese to insert such a clause. I wonder how much they have to pay us every time he plays for England?
  7. Prefer the Celtic one to the monster suggestion. Would create a better atmosphere.
  8. @SouthamptonFC: You can now purchase seats in Block 43 of the Northam Stand for the visit of @SAFCofficial. Buy here: http://t.co/VHZY0VY5xl #saintsfc

  10. Big yes to this one. Got to get the Wanyama one going Saturday too.
  11. It's only 1 block short isn't it? Away end goes up to half way across the goal normally, block 124. http://www.liverpoolfc.com/tickets/anfield-seating-plan & http://www.checkyourtickets.co.uk/stadiums/england-anfield.php
  12. It's a wonder why he ever went back to Italy. Roma is quite a big draw though. Said it many times on here before though, that is one crazy footballing city, the intense scrutiny and pressure on the players is unlike most other cities in the world. You need to be an extremely strong character to succeed there, and thus it is no surprise that Roma have only won 3 league titles in over 86 years, for a club of that size it's mental. Rome is definitely not the place for somebody like Osvaldo. I genuinely believe that his move here will be the turning point for him from a personal side of things. It's well know that he likes the UK, and loves London. He seems settle with his current girlfriend. He won't have fans harassing him at restaurants, he'll be able to walk round town in peace (well, maybe not if people mistake him for Johnny Depp!) and he won't have fans standing outside his house abusing him. I'd imagine it'll probably be the most peaceful setting he has ever lived in before. He'll get our support, and unless he's Danny Fox bad then he isn't going to get much aggro. Which he won't be. Give him our full support and he'll give it back. As the Roman's would say, DAJE DANI!
  13. Strange one. Would have preferred to keep him, good squad player IMO. But if he wants first team football elsewhere, and we can't guarantee it to him then there isn't a lot we can do to stop him moving out on loan.
  14. Should have 3 numbers available guys, will have to double confirm first. All adults, can you buy a kids ticket using an adult number? Never tried.
  15. IIRC we beat Newcastle, drew with Norwich & West Ham with block 43.
  16. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/artic...k-1003432.aspx Same prices as last season, I think. 2 away sell outs already, can we make it 3 on the trot? I can't make this one, but have been to 6 or more away games this & last season. If anybody would like to use my customer number, drop me a PM. May have more than one number too. Would prefer it to go to Northern Saints who may not be STHs but do plenty of aways. First come first served.

  18. Phew. Had to wait until this morning due to pay day to get mine. There in the nick of time!
  19. Excellent! Shame he's out for 6 months! How much do we get every time he plays for England I wonder.
  20. Osvaldo wasn't even Roma's regular penalty taker. The incident where he supposedly took the ball off Totti is mis-reported, Totti said after the game that he offered Osvaldo the chance to take the penalty because he'd been on a barren run of form and wanted to help him try and end it with a goal. Sadly, the gesture went tits up and he missed. I can only recall him taking one other penalty for Roma, when Totti was off the field and he scored. Nobody other than Lambert, when on the field will be taking our penalties.
  21. *chortle*
  22. Got some very good individuals, but they do not look like a team in the slightest. Most look disinterested and not up for it at all.
  23. Lets have a look at our opening home game attendances in the Premier League whilst at St Mary's. 2001/02 - Chelsea - 31,107 2002/03 - Middlesbrough - 28,341 2003/04 - Birmingham City - 31,656 2004/05 - Blackburn Rovers - 27,492 2012/13 - Wigan Athletic - 29,604 Average: 29,640. Anything over 30K would be decent on Saturday, although with the current feel good factor around the club it is slightly disappointing that we aren't selling out for this one. The club would help themselves by telling people block 43 was open to home fans, I doubt many even realise.
  24. Sunderland's OS said there were still tickets for them left this morning, but a Mackem on twitter tells me he tried to buy later in the day & they'd all gone.
  25. Tbf to Newcastle, City do look very very good. They'd tear most teams a new one based on that first 45.
