Can we have our old style OS back now?
Leslie Charteris replied to gjphilsaint's topic in The Saints
I'd have thought that aap3 would want to be heavily involved in any new website, assuming they are going to be shirt sponsors for a while yet, after all, web site solutions are part of their core business and they did set up the online programme. Having said that, they do like to use Wordpress and it doesn't seem like they have much ecommerce experience, their sites are pretty, but without a lot of functionality. It would be a little embarassing, I think, if SFC have to get someone else to create us a new site. BTW, I notice that Bolton, QPR, Swansea and Norwich, are using the League template, so perhaps we will have to as well. -
What fills the void for you in the summer months?
Leslie Charteris replied to Orange's topic in The Saints
Golf. Then more golf. Have started the Wiltshire tour early this year with two down already and another one planned for next week. Course was a bit soggy yesterday, though, I'll have to clean my clubs again. -
I'm sure he has spoken to Nigel and the team, they are the important ones, and he may well have something to say at the big dinner on Friday.

You will be the worst team EVER in the Prem

Just please, please keep Delia of the pitch! We have her cookery books, that will do. -
Where do you predict we'll finish next season?
Leslie Charteris replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
I'll take it if we can borrow Newcastle's scouts for a while! -
Where do you predict we'll finish next season?
Leslie Charteris replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
No, that would be a big ask, but, having watched MOTD and MOTD2, just ensuring our mere survival is going to be quite something. I predict a few sleepless nights. -

So, no funds available for strengthening? Oh dear... -

What chance NC wants us to be above Pardew's team and makes the funds available to do it? -

40+ points with four games to go, that would be OK for the first season, whatever position that leaves us it should mean that people won't be whistling the theme from the Great Escape during the last few matches! -
Losing to Blackpool really shook my confidence, but luckily not the team's...

Today was a timely reminder - we got ML and NC, Coventry got SISU and Ken Dulieu - how easily it could have been the other way round!
-
I think he had just realised what a task he'll have keeping his win percentage up next season. He has, as he said, a long term contract, but perhaps there is a clause in it which NC can use to get him out if the percentage drops below a given level.

"If only they did not have the tosser Savage the coverage would have been top drawer." TBF, he was very complimentary about us on 606 this evening and I expect he's right about there being a reward for the team for getting promoted, but I can't see that being in their minds today.
-
Very gracious of you sir, as the team with the most wins and that remarkable winning streak, you deserve your promotion, too. I hope Cardiff turn over WHam next week and go on to win the play-offs, then my team and the two teams I have family connections to will all be playing in the big league together ...and WHam could probably use a portion of humble pie.

I can see it now, Saints lose two in a row next season and NA wakes up to find a horse's head in the bed next to him and decides it might be time to look for another job.

Saints Promoted - Post Season Chat
Leslie Charteris replied to Red and White Army's topic in The Saints
Fantastic! Well done everyone at SFC. Feeling slightly dazed at the moment - it hasn't all sunk in yet. I haven't felt like this since May Day '76. -
Decisive moments of the season
Leslie Charteris replied to saints_is_the_south's topic in The Saints
As others have said, the decisive moment will come on Saturday and it is in the hands of the team to make it happen. If they don't want it or can't make it happen then everything that has occured before is irrelevant. They will make it happen - believe! COYR -

I absolutely Love this Club whatever.
Leslie Charteris replied to Didcot Saint's topic in The Saints
Saints man and boy, I couldn't support another team even if we were in the Southern league playing Andover at the Walled Meadow - and I lived 200 yards from there with the floodlights in sight of my bedroom. From Wikipedia - "The homeland of the Turkic peoples is assumed to have been somewhere in the vicinity of Altai in Central Asia." where's your allegiance, Turkish? -
How you play today decides where you'll play next season. You all know what you want - go out and get it!

This one might worry a few on here: "Invincibility lies in the defence; the possibility of victory in the attack."

The only thing we've got on the TV is that little sensor thingy that comes with the Wii. There's just not enough room for a nice ornament on a modern telly!
-
Probably the only people thinking that losing is a possibility are the glass half full lot on here, a few demented WHam fans and the odd Coventry supporter who's had a few too many sherberts. Nobody connected to the team will be even contemplating it. As the Echo article today pointed out, we have been in the top two all season and the team have performed whenever they've needed to stay there. Why would Saturday be any different? I hope some of the doom mongers on here don't play golf - I can imagine their swing thoughts "Don't go in the water, don't go in the water... oh bugger, it's wet!" and what advice will NA be taking from Sun Tzu's The Art of War? BELIEVE! COYR

I shall be staying in the moment, humming a certain Doris Day song - as mentioned in another thread last weekend - and then put the game to bed, learn the lessons, draw a blue line and then move on and put my focus on next weekend and see where we are after that.

Vote Matt Le Tiss - Greatest ever Premier League goal
Leslie Charteris replied to jawillwill's topic in The Saints
The Newcastle goal for me. Lots of people can score from distance now, probably because of the ball, but that Newcastle goal just summed up what MLT was all about - we'll never see his like again - unfortunately, imagine if we had a young version waiting for us to get promoted...
