Just seen this apt piece in the Daily Fail :- Upsetting the Apple-cart Michael Appleton hasn’t had to do very much to be wanted has he? Plenty of managers have improved their clubs – Kenny Jackett at Millwall, Mark Robins at Coventry, and Paolo Di Canio at Swindon are three examples. Appleton isn’t in that list with either of his clubs. But some influential people said he was good. So he must be.

FM Saints Researcher @MatthewLeGod @pn_neil_allen Amazing how many sports journalists incorrectly use the word "ironic" for unfortunate things. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nT1TVSTkAXg … Expand Ed Byrne slates Alanis Morissette The now infamous slating of Alanis Morissette's 'Ironic' by Irish comedian Ed Byrne perfomed on The Standup Show some years back... Oh I agree that you need experience alongside youth but his bent is still on remaining competitive...

See above :- "Effectively all future parachute payments have been allocated to pay the compromise agreements reached with former players. You can forget about them."

Comment From Dave Angel Do you think the PST have enough funds to steady the ship in this never ending storm?? Honest opinion... 13:18 Neil: It's no secret the Trust need more funds, they continue to ask fans to help solve that issue. In theory Portpin have plenty of money, certainly much more than the Trust. But in the past they haven't put it in. They promised to fund the first administration and didn't for a start. So funds is a continued concern for the Trust, but they are confident they have enough to keep the club running in a sustainable manner and via a long-term business plan. 13:19 Comment From Dave Angel What is left of the parachute payments? Will this effect the PSTs business plan?? 13:19 Neil: Effectively all future parachute payments have been allocated to pay the compromise agreements reached with former players. You can forget about them.

Comment From Shaun The fact the relegation is looking inevitable surely it would make sense to release all players earning wages that we cant afford and save the money to invest in youth in preparation for next season 13:16 Neil: Fair point but it is about remaining competitive in the name of football and also not destroying the kids. They need some experienced people there alongside them. It's no education losing 5-0 every week.:facepalm::facepalm:

Comment From Alan Has Pompey said if they will consider Harley if wage demends are lowered? 13:13 Neil: As Guy explained in today's paper, with Harley it is about looking to the future. There 's Adam Webster and Dan Butler who can play left-back so the thinking is give them a run in the team with an eye on next season. In the process it will save money. Shame about Harley, though, one of the nicest people you will ever meet in football. -- Wish I knew how to do the nice HTML formatting all you other professional Nutjobs manage

Only in Portsmouth would they be siblings...and don't ask what they and the Ducks get up to behind closed doors..... Pete the Cat would be good in goal Goofy as the somewhat gangly Centre Forward -
The bit you quoted is the only modicum of sense in the whole article......

I'm sure they changed the handball rule recently, well in the last 20 years!! I'm sure it used to be deliberate or if the player gained an advantage from an accidental one! I was watching the Swansea v Arsenal game and a Swansea player had hi hand hit from a ball that bounced of the ground onto his hand, said ball then fell right at his feet. Ref didn't give a handball... -

I thought the last paragraph was the killer.....

Brilliant, it's got to be ball played out of defence, mainly on the ground, one or two touch passing with a tap in at the end......oh and throw in a nutsssss or two and I'd be well pleased.

I heard a sound bite from Farmery on Jack FM this morning, saying the PST was on track and confirming they've had over £1m worth of "shares" bought!! Amusingly he said that they got to the £1m mark quicker than expected....

I've never been to the County Ground so don't know what the away end is like but is that really 1,500 away fans?? Is it still 10% allocation for away fans in the Football League? If so, with the County Ground's capacity of ~15k, 10% would be 1,500 so I would expect the away end to be full.......

Here's one for you then egg, we were thinking of having an extension done so wanted to get rough ideas of cost etc BUT any builders we talked to said they couldn't quote without an architect!! Is that right??

Why do people buy into this Pompey myth, what they were doing was just "Gallows Humour"!! Just about every fan from every club has used it before! One I remember (from another Club) is Ipswich when they were on the end of 9-0 thumping by United. The United fans were chanting "we want 10, we want 10", the Ipswich fans replied with "we want 1, we want 1". And as Granty has pointed out we were pretty much the same in our Relegation season from the NPC.. Nothing special to be honest

I still can't believe the dubious goals panel gave the goal to Schemmel (sp??). “I'm going home now to get myself a Coca-Cola and a packet of crisps and I'll sit in front of the television and look at the table on Teletext all night.”

Some people need to believe in something otherwise what is the point to life and living!! Your 1 month old baby dies, it's all part of God's Plan, we don't know what it is (the Plan) but we should believe that there was a reason for it! Not very eloquently put but I hope you see what I mean. For mine, I was brought up Roman Catholic and then I discovered science! I couldn't reconcile the 2 so I went down the route that gave me empirical proof. I'm happy with my life, I don't believe there's anything beyond my body stopping working but I don't need to... -
