  1. Think this applies to half the team. Lots of young players with potential whose confidence is currently shot to pieces. I think that Bazunu has the makings of a decent keeper, but as a keeper his lack of confidence is exposed. Doesnt help with having a defence that changes every week and some players already half-hearted as they will be off in the summer. Won't be watching any more games this season, either live or on TV, and will see what the summer and next season brings.
  2. If we could get a lead of over 250 and get to lunch, that would be a good position imho. Gubbins will probably be run out third ball this morning now.

Is anyone ITK or we all just wildly speculating? The club must be chaos at the moment. We all know that we are going down and that there are going to be major comings and goings over the summer. Can't believe that the owner is well pleased as we have spent a small fortune on players this season and it has gone badly wrong. Has anyone heard anything from inside the club?

Why would he come here? He did really well at Brighton, but they are a well run club with a sensible recruitment strategy. Our problems will not be solved by getting in a good manager. We had one in Ralph and he got burnt out trying. Our problems start at the top, and won't get sorted until SR are history.
  5. In the great escape year of 1998/99 we won 7 and drew 2 of our last 9 home games. It's what kept us up. The difference now is that our home form is terrible. We simply don't know how to break down teams that sit deep and break quickly. Once we concede then the game is lost. We have an outside chance of staying up but I really can't see it happening. We have too much to do, largely because of the ineptitude of the NJ era and losing at home against the teams around us.
  6. Really sorry to hear this. Puts worries about Saints getting relegated into perspective. Wishing you and your family all the best at what is clearly a tough time.
  7. https://www.gov.uk/change-name-deed-poll/change-a-childs-name HTH.
  8. The various bookies on Oddschecker have the likelihood of Saints going down between 65-70%. Feels about right. Still got a chance of staying up but more likely to go down than stay up.
  9. You need to be organised to get out of the Championship, with a consistent way of playing and have everyone playing their part. Which is how we were in 2011/12. Can't see us getting into that kind of shape any time soon. The summer is going to be carnage and if we are stable by the end of next season and don't get relegated to League 1, then we can kick on from there. I don't see us bouncing straight back.
  10. Deckchairs on the Titanic springs to mind
  11. Wonder what Ralph thinks of all this
  12. There are some players out there that I don't ever want to see in a Saints shirt again. Caleta-Car, Lyanco, Aribo, Orsic, Armstrong all dreadful. Understand now why Bednarek is getting games. The summer is going to be carnage and I can see us going straight through the Championship next season and into Division 1.
  13. Also think it would be Bournemouth and Leeds. But would love to see Everton go down. Some of us are mentally scarred for life following Highbury 1984.
  14. couldn't quite get the bollocking but this is the half time talk i could get out of it... Alright, let's talk about the first half of the Southampton vs Leeds game. Firstly, well done on your performance so far, but we need to focus on a few things to maintain our momentum and secure the win. Defensively, we've been holding up well, but we can't afford to let our guard down. We need to be more alert and ensure that we don't give away any cheap fouls or penalties. Keep a close eye on the opposing team's attackers and try to cut off their passing lanes. Let's also maintain our high pressure on their midfielders and defenders to limit their opportunities. Offensively, we've been creating some good chances, but we need to be more clinical in front of goal. We need to take advantage of our opportunities and try to get an early goal in the second half. Let's keep the ball moving quickly and try to create more openings by making intelligent runs. Lastly, let's keep our composure and not get too carried away. We still have a whole half to play, and anything can happen. Stay focused, communicate with each other, and continue to work hard as a team. Keep up the good work, and let's finish strong!
  15. Just finished reading this. Really enjoyed it. As someone who sadly wasn’t old enough to witness Franny playing, it was incredibly enlightening. His experience of Cortese, all his fundraising and the work he has done since playing was equally, if not more, fascinating. A truly top bloke.
  16. It’s happening.
  17. I think my dad’s attitude was that acceptable clubs to support that weren’t Southampton were: Eastleigh Winchester City Basingstoke at a push
  18. If I was Solak I think that I would be clearing out the entire SR management team and starting again. Look to try and stabilise the club. Accept that this season is a write-off, and start planning for next season in the Championship.
  19. Could give Franny a go? At least they’d be fit if he got them to do all his crazy fundraising runs.
  20. Would go for big Sam. Would scare the shit out of the squad and get them organised.
  21. Appreciate Hughes didn’t last long but he was brought in to keep us up which he did (albeit just). I’m comparison to Jones, he did a far far better job.
  22. There's some competition for the worst. Pellegrino, Wigley and Jones all pretty terrible. But Jones is streets ahead as the most objectionable.
  23. I see that kwsaint jr would like a trip to Sheffield Wednesday next season. Think that he will get his wish. Personally I would like a trip to Ashton Gate.
  24. Just interested in where people want to go. For me, Sheffield Wednesday stands out if they get promoted.
  25. This.
