Didn't know that - cheers - and you're right, its bonkers it was overturned!!!! Anyway, Game on!!!! COYR

Sympathetic towards the fans (although Brighton mates will probably already be in the pub cheering), but always thought Jordan was a bit of a tit - his hair was particularly annoying.

Looks like good business. Incidentally, is it just me, and am I retarded, cause I still can't get used to us signing proven players rather than hopefuls ?? (All answers considered)

9.5/10 - with capitals it would have been perfect COYR

I would consider myself a liberal. I think 'Dave' (I bet his parents don't call him that) Cameron is naive and his party incompetent. When I think about how inept Labour have been, it just illustrates how poor the Tories are. They should have a 25 point poll lead, not I absolutely agree that a big problem is that we are led by professional politicians. A big reason for that are safe seats 'locked in' by our electoral system. If we can change the electoral system, we can change the country because our leaders will actually have to listen the electorate. ie. think imaginatively about solutions, not about to gain/keep power.

Correct. The answer to USA's high crime rate is more guns of a higher calibre. When will these pinko yankee scumbags learn ? Also, why, oh why, are they no longer allowed to hang slaves from trees ? I'll tell you why - because the communists have taken over the asylum. All facts.

My fingerprints have never been taken, and I've never had a mugshot taken. Although we can hope that our DNA records are actually representative of our own DNA (nevermind the inevitable errors that occur when a mass-sampling programme is undergone), the sequences recovered from a crime scene are often generated (when DNA copy numbers are low) using techniques (degenerate primers for example) with a significant 'random' element. Thus, the potential for an innaccurate match with a database sample is greatly increased. Again, I have no problem with DNA evidence used in specific criminal cases, but I do have a problem with a mandatory DNA database.
-
I don't think anyone is saying that DNA evidence shouldn't be used per se, just that a DNA database is unwanted. The chances of being 'fingered' incorrectly may be small, but you'd be absolutely ****ed if it happened to you... also, the chances of it happening increase as the size of the database increases. Finally, how do you know how many people are inside based on the flawed use of DNA evidence ?
-
I think we should just remember that at the end of the day its just some underpaid spod putting data into a computer - so the potential for error is considerable. Add the fact that Low-copy number DNA profiling is far from proven technology and you have a recipe for any one of us having our lives ruined by having to spend ages trying to clear our name. Imagine getting 'fingered' incorrectly by DNA profiling as a peado and your family, work, neighbours finding out about it ? Clearing you name from a spurious DNA match would be an absolute nightmare. You drop skin cells every minute of every day, so the potential for incorrect DNA retrieval using low-copy number techniques is enormous. Basically there will be a potential DNA sample from you anywhere you've been. Im out!

I guess the PL would have to weigh up what was more damaging to them - letting a PL club go to the wall, or turning a blind-eye to stuff that is incredibly difficult to prove. Its not as though it dosn't appear obvious whats going on at the moment - and yet it continues. I guess Gaysamank will have his final wodge of cash back relatively soon... and away he goes, job-done!
-
Just thinking aloud... but I suppose that since this money-laundering operation has been relatively successful once, there is nothing to stop someone else having a punt in that direction ? There must be a few people out there with 'atypical' businesses needing somewhere to clean up there cash ? Maybe the sort ot people that convicted fraudsters and arms dealers might know ? I suppose I'm just speculating that its just possible Poopey might find another sugar-daddy that needs the kind of facility the club appears to provide. Might explain why the club hasn't been left to fold, now that (as I understand it) there is a mechanism for Gaydamak to get his cash back - minus acceptable losses?

Go on then, I'll bite... is he a witness for the prosecution against Saggyface re. tax evasion, or is he implicated in the Eastleigh Brothel shame ?? Do tell - the thought of Rupes getting banged up whilst banged up is highly amusing.

Top 10 most annoying cliches used in the office ...
saintfully replied to Hamilton Saint's topic in The Lounge
Gather in the low-hanging fruit. Climb the strategic staircase "Lets hit the cappucino machine and see if it comes out frothy" ...and my personal hate-phrase actually said to me once by a ****... "don't assume, it makes an ass out of u and me"... needless to say I punched him. -
7 inches in Brighton - girlfriend shall be dissappointedly accepting less later.

The story that people (whose identity remains unknown) were searching for Dr Kellys body before he'd been reported missing is a fact. It is also the case that the injuries sustained by Dr Kelly were extremely unlikely to lead to death. How these circumstances were swept under the carpet I will never understand... but its almost certainly the case that he was killed by somebody, and did not commit suicide.

i) If global warming is happening (it looks as though it almost certainly is, so I think its a big risk to hope otherwise), the difference between a 2 degree and a 6 degree increase in global temp would be huge - so it makes sense to try and reduce the damage by lowering emmissions. ii) There is absolutely no point in you recycling a marmite jar if no-one else does. However, Im not a selfish ****, and you don't seem to be either, so on that basis I assume there are millions/billions of others who arn't c*nts too, and will probably do a bit of recycling. I want to be in that number and not one of the c*nts. iii) Governments certainly won't do anything if we keep voting the w*nkers back in again - the only option is to make them have a real stake in keeping voters onside, and that means voting the political establishment out. I'm going to Vote for a hung parliament and subsequent electoral reform so we can have a system that actually represents the views of more than the 10% in the middle who can't make up their minds between Lab and Con (which is basically the same thing now anyway). iv) If global warming is real, the UK will be affected because we import most of our food, and although we are a rich country, we're not that rich - 20% of our GDP comes from banking and we have just seen how fragile that source of wealth actually is (I wish we still made stuff). v) Why don't we concentrate on lowering emmissions as well as adapting to the potential consequences of climate change. Its not that hard to do your bit and vote in a positive way? And it makes our brief lives a lot more interesting if we try and change the world.
-
I think this says more about you than about climate change. The idea that you/we can't do anything is illogical, and ignores history and human development. I'm not sure which of the thousands of examples to provide, but heres a few where humans have made a difference - on an enormous scale: i) political change - abolition of slavery ii) social change - the vote for women iii) social change part2 - broad acceptance of homosexuality in the UK. (do you remember what it was like as recently as the 80's?) iii) climate change - local climate change generated as a result of massive deforestation around the Nile - ie. desertification iv) prevention of up to a third of cancers by a proven link to smoking v) the enormous change in the fortune of Saints by the purchase of the club by Marcus Leibherr. vi) the defeat of Hitler etc. etc. My point is that these changes were bought about by man - often individuals. So when you say you don't care, cause you can't do anthing about it, I think you're being hugely pessimistic about your ability and the ability of others to do something. My advice would be to get off your arse and make a difference. As to future generations - well it is cool to be a nihilist, but a bit immature. Please don't say you don't care/count, because your often eloquent writing suggests you are far to smart to really believe it. All IMHO. iv

Yeah, sorry George I didn't make myself clear. The "Obamas coming to get you" comment was in quotes because it was parodic. However, the comment regarding the clock ticking was a reference to what I guess is your age... Im assuming (maybe wrongly), that you're a senile old mentalist knocking on deaths door ??? Your opinions are prehistoric anyway. Please correct me if Im wrong.
