"Any attempt to even the playing-field in a drastic way by trying to implement some sort of paradigm shift in mass-herd human behaviour is just silly." Erm, I think thats wrong. Why do you think some democratic Western European countries (eg.Denmark) have flatter societies than others (eg. UK) ? Part of the reason are the political choices made by the population. I think these political choices change over time and are dependent on the political choices made in the past. I think we are led by a bunch of narrow-minded flip-flopping tossers (floating voters) because of our voting system. Other countries which have a more representative system seem to make more informed rational choices which benefit wider sections of society.

No-ones mentioned that for most people opportunity is down to luck. ie. Where you're born, when you're born and who your parents are. Often, what you are born with in terms of talent has very little to do with it. My problem with both Labour and the Tories is that they have/will fail to address the huge issue of unequal opportunity for people. Tories abolishing inheritance tax is just mental. I reckon that a fair society is where everyone has as equal a chance as possible. Im a scientist and its shocking that, even now, the proportion of young UK researchers with PhDs coming from privileged backgrounds is huge. You just don't get that with the kids from mainland Europe for example. Its such a waste of talent to skew opportunity toward the upper (middle) classes. FWIW I'll be voting LibDem

Ha ha. If you carry on with this kind of amusing reactionary bollix you'll have Talksport offering you a contract. Genius.

Dunno if Crouch still goes but hope he does. I just wanted to note his decision in bringing in Nigel Pearson - still proving Sundance/19C wrong in the championship, which is always fun. (I just thought that 'Boot Boy' name-calling was a disgrace)

I absolutely agree with Landford Saint except to say that I also enjoy the demented shouts from the sidelines when we lose. Passion is a big part of Football, and a bigger part of what being a Saints fan is about, so when people moan - well, its mostly cause they care (I assume, unless they're on a wind-up). This has to be a good thing - apathy and indifference would not have got us a new owner for a start. When I hear/read the mentalists calling for Pardews head after 10 games(!) I admit I do struggle to remember this, but nevertheless its a fact. The alternative is to be like Wigan, and no-one wants that.....

+4. My lot are going.

Yep, your right, I can see it now - I forgot about Griffit (which, to be fair, is easily done)

Benali/(Fabrice+Svennson) = Wotton

3 goals against Eastleigh - well done David Nugent for finally repaying the faith Poopey fans had in you!!! Money well spent.

What this ? A sensible, well-thought out post written in coherent sentences ? Not what I expected in a monday morn at all... I agree by the way - hope he stays, but suspect he'll be off. Boooo.

I loved the terraces and would definately want them back. (It can't be that difficult to organise a standing area that isn't a death trap). Remember the atmosphere in the Dell when we scored and getting carried 10ft down the terrace by the weight of the crowd. Top!

Are YOU mental ?
-
Alan Pardew - going in strong and hard (from what I gather). Great news!
-
Yep! Apart from anything else, there are so many other targets to go for. Personally I always enjoy the fact they built a new shopping centre, but forgot to add a roof. Doh!

Calm down Nick, you do yourself a dis-service with the anti-muslim stuff. Its infantile and embaressing, (like our inbred cousins down the road). Please retract and act like an adult - not like a tw*t.

I once nutmegged Rueben Agboola. Fact. -
'Business not conducted in open, fair and transparent manner' shock!!! OMG, did someone try and maximise their own benefit???

I think we can assume that if Mr Oldknow is as useless as some people say he is then he won't last too long. I guess our owner ("cheers" by the way - my old Dad would have been chuffed to bits and even more excited than I am!!), or who he has passed the responsibility to, simply wants a bit of continuity while they take up the reins. Seems sensible to me - afterall, he might be a c*ck, but he might be an effective c*ck.

Im "Full-mast"!

For me it has to be the dream team of Wotte AND Poortvleit. After the performances at the beginning of last season (who can forget the way the team nearly bravely held their own against Celtic) I can't think of a better plan. Am I mad - or just a total tw*t ? (I'd go for Dowie by the way - effective at this level, likeable, inoffensive and a grafter)

Yawn, you're showing your age.. no-one under 40 buys newspapers anymore - theres a new thing called the Interweb. Oh hang on....

Exactly who are you trying to call rats?

How embaressing - I think the final marbles rolled away at last
