I don't know the answer to your question but I've added to the first list those scholars such as Callum Slattery who have played for U18s this season but are not yet 1st or 2nd year scholars (well not according to the OS anyway). Yes, and the "by year" list does not include the academy players. I assume decisions will be needed on many (the majority?) of 2nd year scholars this year. Now added - good point.

The OS squad listing now shows Reed and McQueen with last season's squad numbers rather than the ones they were allocated this season (28 and 38 respectively). We don't need to list any players in our 25 man squad who are on season long loans - so Jos and Gaston can be omitted. Similarly Stephens and Sinclair (too young).

I see that the OS first team squad page has been updated following Lovren's departure to omit last season's squad numbers and to promote a number of the development squad (Cropper, Stephens, Targett, Isgrove, McQueen). Sharp also added. Can't quite work out the criteria that has been used to order them - it's sort of longest serving to most recent addition. But not entirely!

The released and retained list is due around now. I see from his Twitter account that Jamal Branker from the Under 21s is being released and we know that Lee Barnard, Jonathan Forte and Guly are all out of contract and almost certain to leave. Lloyd Isgrove may be out contract and I'm fairly sure that Andy Robinson, Cody Cropper and Fraser Colmer are. I suspect there are decisions to be made about them and possibly others in the development squad, including Matt Young, Joe Curtis, Charlie Higgins and goalkeeper James White. Presumably some new contracts as well. I think the deadline for submitting the list is around the end of May so there may be time to sort out the manager's position before doing so. Good luck to Jamal Branker and anyone else being released.

Wikipedia is showing Will Britt has been given 43 and Chris Johns 44 (our 5th and 6th choice keepers!). Anyone knnow if this is reality or is it just Wiki?

Just noticed that Tadanari Lee has been added into the 1st team squad list on the OS (number 19). He appears to be wearing this season's kit as well.

Many thanks to Ant and apologies for not updating sooner - only just spotted the reply. I have now updated the original post. I should stress that the U21 and U18 information is estimated in some cases - it's clearly deliberate but for this group of players the club generally chooses not to make the end date of contract public. It usually refers to "x year extension" - unless you know when the previous contract expired that is not very helpful. For example, Lloyd Isgrove recently signed a one year extension. I don't think he was out of contract this year (if he were, he would have been mentioned when the retained list was announced). This would indicate it was a 1 year extension to a contract ending in 2014 or later - so I think his contract ends in 2015, but it could be later. I'll continue to keep updated - any further information gratefully received.

Not sure when it happened but the OS squad list has recently been updated to add back in many of the returning loan players. Interesting points to note are that Sharp, Martin and Chaplow are all still missing (deals already done for them perhaps?) and that, of last season's U21s, Corby Moore, Jake Sinclair, Andy Robinson, Dom Gape and Lloyd Isgrove are now showing in the First Team list (though also in the U21 or U18 list as well). It may perhaps be that the first team list is simply showing any U21 who was given a squad number last season (each of these was) or it could indicate a promotion for next season. EDIT: All three now added to OS squad list which now appears to be complete - for now.

Possibly but the OS said: "With regards to the Saints Academy, goalkeeper Will Britt has been offered a professional contract.....". It doesn't say he's signed it. So I don't see what the difference is betweeen him and Omar Rowe. But there must be one - I'm sure the club would be very careful about announcements about contracts (probably even running past lawyers).

The Saints list is largely in line with the announcement on the OS but interesting to note that Lloyd Isgrove was clearly out of contract and has been offered a deal and Omar Rowe seems to have been offered a professional deal. Neither of these points were covered in the club's announcement for some reason.

Yes but the (slightly!) interesting point is that Hammond has been added in and not Sharp, Forte, Martin and Barnard all of whom are also still in contract. All of the players out of contract are not listed: Forecast, Butterfield, Richardson, Reeves, Hoskins, Chaplow(?), Dickson and Seaborne (though Hoskins is still listed in the U21s). De Ridder is still in contract and still listed.

I suspect the retained list could be imminent (Saturday morning if previous years are anything to go by). The first team squad on the OS has been updated today to delete all the photos. The one player deleted today was Frazer Richardson. Most of the players that have been out on loan are also missing but interestingly Dean Hammond was added back in a few days ago. Tadanari Lee has been there for the whole period of his loan. None of the other players who have been out of loan have been added back.

Is recalling Ben Reeves from Southend an option? No idea on the terms of his loan but a genuine left footer at left back; knows the position albeit no longer his main posiiton; in form from what I understand. Just a thought...
