Possibly if he hadn't punctured on stage 1. As it is I don't think so. Wiggins is steady and would have hammered out the same pace up to the end of that stage. Froome has a kick that Wiggins doesn't possess but you can only sustain that pace for very short periods on these steep climbs.

Your worst away day from our time in the wilderness

5-0 away at Sheffield Wednesday -
I used to take groups of golfers to the Open for a number of years. When they were at the golf they'd just clear off onto the course and i'd get to spend the day in hospitality. That was nice.

All this chatter of doping is really starting to do my nut in. When Usain Bolt runs 9.58 no-one harps on about Ben Johnson and how Usain must be doping. When Paula Radcliffe smashed the Marathon world record i dont recall one utterance of she must be cheating. But as soon as two British guys who have been at the top of the tree for the last year start anihilating the field they must be cheats. None of this should be allowed to detract from the great effort being put in by these two riders and the rest of the Sky team.

Communications. Not a bad area of work, but i'd rather be in a more interesting field

Hi Huffton. Just been out on the bike and used that app. What a great app it is and dont think i'll bother getting a cycle computer with that on my phone. Only problem is it has now compared by route to loads of others and i'm not faring too favourably at all. Although i'm sure they are all on race bikes, with proper shoes etc. It does have the facility to make friends etc, but not sure about groups. If someone can work out how to make a saints group i'd gladly join.

Just awesome from Sky. There is a heck of a long way to go, but Wiggo looked so comfortable just sitting behind Evans at the end. Evans was absolutely spent and both Froomey and Brad looked to have plenty left in the tank. Sky could almost afford to cede the Jersey and then win it back in the TT, but somehow I don't think that's going to happen. Doesn't seem to be their way.

I'm living in Southampton and just starting to ride a bit more often after being a fan for a while. Only have a 5 mile drag to work so that is my first plan, but I need to get my fitness up a little so i'm not arriving at work sweaty and horrible. Would be interested in some organised longer rides.

No i'm more in the Manny Pacquio camp

Sometimes you have to accept we wont and shouldn't compete with the top paying clubs. Well not just yet anyway.

Will be interesting to see how Sky cope without Sioutsou. Porte, Froome, Rogers, Knees and Boason Hagen, will have to work twice as hard in the mountains. Cant see Eisel or Cav being too much help.

It's funny isn't it. As much as he insists he's happy about the team focusing on yellow it does come across like he is. I'm sure it's probably something to do with the fact he's being constantly questioned about it. He will have known the score from day one. He has known most of the team sky backroom staff for years from GB cycling so i don't think there is any discontent there at all though. And I think he is genuine when he says helping a brit win yellow would be massive for him, just as it was for all those who helped him win the world champiosnhips last year. Just over a year ago i'd never really watched a bike race, but now I can't get enough. Wish I had Eurosport.

Pretty good it seems! Great ride

Oh and i'm not fat. Far from it.

This. I'm almost 30 and Always had crisps at school and have continued to have them as part of my daily packed lunch. They are only about 100 calories per pack, and I also have at least one bit of fruit and a sandwich, so really not at all bad. The argument that they are not good for you is a bit odd and could be said about 80% of everything you eat. A healthy diet is often a balanced diet which can include things that in isolation may appear to be bad for you.

Wow Sagan could be a bit of a revelation in this tour. In that kind of form he could well be a major contender for the olympic road race too. Team sky a bit fragmented with Froome and Rogers' problems but Wiggins never in any trouble. Really nerve-wracking stuff though. If he looses fine, but i'd hate to see any of the big guns lose it in a crash. We'll see what kind of form Cavendish is in tomorrow.

I'd be surprised if Cav gets anywhere near the last week. They'll be looking for him to pick up a couple of early stages and then bow out I would have thought. Sky will have to take a few risks. They cant ride on the front the whole time and wreck thir legs early on as controlling for three weeks is completely different than the one week in the dauphine. Whatver happens if Brad can get on the podium that will be an immense achievement and a great step forward for British cycling.

Maybe the new google 7 thingy will spice the market for tablets up a bit. Would like one myself but cant justify the price of an ipad.

Who Is The Worst Company you Have Had The Misfortune To Have To Deal With

I was actually struggling to think of one before I saw this but you are 100% right. Awful. -
I like this comment :Frankly puzzled. Hooiveld may well compete with Seaborne but from what has been written about him, he appears to be of a similar standard or possibly a little behind DS.

Makes financial sense too though. If they start in division 3 they will inevitabley get promoted each year but all the leagues will benefit from incresaed attendances as they go up through them, whereas if they started in division 1 only the top division would benefit and likely only for one year.

To me this is just a perfect example of the BBC completely having lost its focus. It should be providing services where otherwise they would not be funded. Things that do not appeal commercially. Where market failure has passed by things that would otherwise be to the greater public good or benefit. There are many music festivals that offer a similar experience, so therefore this is not required of the BBC. If it's about cost and access then setting up some kind of bursary to attend Glasto or T in the park would be a better use of funds.

I think he is suggesting some sort of pre-paid VISA card that is pre-programmed to only be accepted on groceries. I'm sure VISA or a major card company would be thrilled for the opportunity and would not be as susceptible to fraud. Other arrangements could be made for direct payment of bills etc.

I think the original article said you can also vote on twitter and email so it's not a definitive tally on Facebook.

And any instructional stuff buy John Jacobs. By far the most accessible/useful teaching materials of any pro.
