Pekhart and mighty Mac. Mac is good and only getting better but still needing when to lay off and when to go for it, experience will get him there. But if John does not go then you have the experience but we have to have the right games for right combination. Over to JP.

Totally agree but don't you think after all I said I could sit alongside him in the dugout just to make sure.

Spiderman is young and learning the game let alone the English game. At times he does look class and a player you could not do without. Other times he is totally out of the game and has to be used accordingly. Down to JP but there will be times when Wotton or even James in his natural position will have to be the call. Trust me James is a very good central middle player trying to do Saints a favour at full back. and if gisme is good then more in the poy and don't forget we have the mighty Pulis coming at xmas time.

JP type of system will still take time and he seems to be all or nothing for his style and does not really seem to discuss debate or take any info from those around him during the game. Most managers seem to have at least one if not two or more words of advice to rely on during a game. Not trying to take it away from JP and I don't know how good Hockaday is other tha a good youth coach. Not sure he had a big part with first team at Watford. I'm just advocating that if you can't always see where it's going wrong do not be afraid to talk to your side kick with a different view on the opposition tactics especially someone who knows this game. By the way that is why Benitez brought Sammy Lee back into the fold at Liverpool. Just my opinion that might not agree with yours and does not make me wrong.

No expert myself but surely someone should have taken young Dyer aside and shown him some old clips of Terry Paine re wing play, dribbling and taking on players and also teasing the man you are attacking. Not as some poster said trying to run through or at defenders. Alternatively a video of Beckham, someone who could not go past a defender but new how to croos just in front of that man. Therefore using both styles he could end up with some wing play to his CV other than his sheer speed which is quickly negated. Very one dimensional and no flexability or varied thinking. Other than that he'll be a squad player at best and costing money when others are already over taking him in the pecking order and interested clubs will lose interest. More than a kick up the back side but a full reassessment required or it is Easleigh at best for you young Dyer. Mind you they beat us sometimes and propably would give us hell of a game now. Nice break then back to winning Saints.

Attendance Vs Blackpool 5th lowest in the league
ottery st mary replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Manchester City in recent years have shown a decline and then a gradual recovery. One day we will return. -
British coach/tactician with knowledge of CCC would have been useful to have alongside JP to negate the opposition tactics etc. Bringing Wotton on earlier or actually playing from start in certain games. Cork is to be wasted unless he plays and from the start. JP is in the chair and I support for now but it will not hurt him to have a Rice,Clarke,Jorda, Adams or in fact my choice SNODIN there to assist.

I have booed some of my favourite players over the years but then again they deserved as they knew the performance on the match day or in the town the night before gave them no excuse to cry about it. It did not stop me booing them from time to time but I still loved most of them but never above the club or the required 100% effort I require from them when they pull on that shirt. Anyway they always get over it and usually admit afterwards, they deserved it.

JP will no doubt prove to be a reasonable coach but I believe he should have a proper British football man assissting him and the team. ie Someone like Pearson, someone who knows the English game. Examples where foreign Manager/coaches have British football people close at hand. ie Rice to Wenger and Clarke to various Chelsea bosses. I suppose cost would be the problem with this. But JP will need some support sooner than later

Let us hope that the results between now and end of January is not more evidence of trying to fool the big boys are young stars are not ready yet. I think we should find a happy mediun and win a few games as well.

Excuse me squire, as usual you do not mention your mate buctootim. Very strange that.

The medical staff who failed to find the long running injuries fitness doubts regarding some of the players we signed or in many of the cases the Directors/Management who ignored the medical grey area. Player example.... Groves,Ripley,Draper,Redknapp Jnr. Bernard, McAnn,Speedie,Dixon etc etc and in my opinion they do not even convince me as reasonable gambles. Lets hope Pulis proves his fitness one day before he then manages a game or two to prove his football ability.. Wages we could not afford for someone who is not available for at least 6-12 weeks....Very strange in my opinion. But before some of you start I am hoping to be proved wrong but this sums up Saints of recent times. And NO Davies did not want to leave until Saints told him and his agent he was not really wanted ie we needed the money Fair enough then... Again my opinion and NO I do not give a damn re Directors but some STRANGE going ons at the ok coral..

Each half, the goal we kicked at (very few times) seemed to be a lot smaller than the one Blackpool were kicking at( Many times) Maybe they were just better at it than us, a little bit like last season.

All I am asking is for us to be a little bit more gentle with our legends.

Bobby Stokes as a young apprentice for me no one else has done what he did for me on that lovely day in 1976. Not yet anyway.. I still live in hope maybe Lallane one day..

My daughter says her favourite dish is No11.

Its on its way very soon. Sorry I did not do this before. Deep down I had a dream that he came back and played for us, on crutches and still out jumped everyone and scored 3. Maybe Pekhart could be the next Ron.
-
Sorry Nick you might be right then again I saw Crouch, Marsden, Pulis,Cassells Brennan, and many more play before they signed for Saints. I would sign Crouch again and even Marsden, even now before any of the others. But as a fan that is my opinion and my perogative to give my view as you have done on many players over the years. You say you have not seen Pulis play. If you have you may already have an opinion. I have several times and I have an opinion and my only hope as an individual with no sway on JP is that the coach can do something with him. As supporters we all hope that and more importantly for the young lads sake as well as ours. So please don'T BE CROSS WITH YOUR FELLOW SUPPORTERS, most have no clue about footballers when it comes down to it, although we like to think so. Keep taking the happy pills he may turn out better than his antecedents shows to date and we will all join you in slating me.

Very pleased to hear the Good news and well done to you and your good lady. Please contact me now or in the future as I would like to make a contribution ie Testimonial etc. True legend and I was a supporter from the day he arrived at the Dell. Great player and great man and your not so bad Tim.

Saint Charlie When the injuries kicked in I had you down to play. Mind you the lad is already injured(quite a few for such a short career) so get your boots ready. Pay as you play same as Anthony eh! Mr Lowe. Some say Saint Charlie has a reputation of being combative onthis forum/web Give the lad a chance he may well turn out to be a good xmas present for someone. More importantly the challenge is for him to turn into a top Saints player then I will be the first to transplant his picture over the other 3 ( on my Saints calendar) I've already transplanted over on October picture..

The amazing thing from my view on the Milton Road corner/tunnel I could see young boys and grown men spitting all over his clothes and he is about 6'4" I really don't know how he restrained himself each game. Mind you some posters on here have been behaving quite badly towards him in the last year or so.
-
Let us be positive it is another two supporters on the sideline , him and his mother. He will not be fit for sometime therefore a loan at a later date would have sufficed and that sound sense to me not kicking anyone. No one else interested even non league clubs not relly interested.

Don't understand where you are kormaing from.

Not forget a future star in Gobern and a few other in the reserves,Academy. but if JP decision we can onlt trust. I for one will genuinely apologise but do not hold your breath.
