Totally agree with the praise re Wotton. Whenever I saw him play in the past I thought the player to have on your side. I am fully behind the Yuf but you need Wotton involved as much as possible as the season goes on..Injury permitting..Iknow Argyle already regret letting him walk.. As the poster Causer states in his team stats for last night when giving reference to Wotton THE Glue would seem appropriate for such a Young side. Obviously adding the likes of Svensson and Perry and the blend comes together. WELL DONE JP and Coacing staff.
-
Nick, No disrespect to Mr Lowe and his involvement on the football side(I believe he concentrates mainly on the financial side) but you have clearly forgotten The football Chairman Mr Wilde. Credit where credit is due. Not forgetting the other Directors. Unless you know more than you let us know. I personally believe this new revolution is down to the current climate and I will stick with JP and MW and staff. BUT IN ANYCASE WELL DONE TO ALL. Bring on the YUF. Keep up the good work Nick. I think deep down you keep forgetting Mr Wilde is involved.......
-
No...He watches the games from the stand with his good lady..Not involved. People doing Kit man and ball collecting etc Ron Arthurs (sounds like Arthurs) and Bob the Cat...... Don't ask.. Maybe someone will know why.
-
The moral of the story is as follows. Get Martin Johnson and Jonny Wilkinson in our ping pong team and we will get medals.
-
Saints confirm he is still injured. Iam sure even when injury free will require a great deal of time to get fit then match fit. Real use to us not some time soon. Pity was a good player once upon a time. Well in a few games.
-
Just curious you only support Saints or is Pompey your true love?
-
never criticised the chap in the past, only gave him advice that he bring the right people in to run the football side and he sorts out the financial side. Hey Presto! He listened to me after all. Well it appears to be the case. To be truthfull I wasn't the only person giving him advice. More of the same please. Credit where credit is due. Bring on the results now.
-
Let us hope results continue in our favour and therefore JP is left with the task of moving us up the league and Rupert Lowe and colleagues find other ways of sorting out the finances. If that is the case then, the current playing squad stays whilst hopefully moving on others not required to help in the meantime. Hopefully Rupert will leave the playing side to those who know what they are doing.. Maybe..Maybe he has learnt his lesson..

Arry boy to Bournemouth as owner,Chairman and Manager very soon. Sorry, Rupert to stick with JP.
-
and having a low centre of gravity.... A future star.

Now that goal was the real Mcoy. Total Football. I wondered where the phrase really came from, absolutely superb.

When possible play the same side but if players are carrying injuries however slight then rest those for tonight ie James, Svensson and Holmes. Cork, Wotton at the back with Dyer on the left. Skacel was injured in the reserve game and if recovered the best he can hope for is sub. I personally would rather see Mills, Holmes and Surman down the left as Skacel will never attain the fitness level required. Not forgetting Thomson, Hatch, James and Cork down the right. Choices eh! Who would be a Manager/Coach.

our youngsters played beatifully...Derby press
ottery st mary replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
As a fan for many years I have not wanted to see many favourite players leave but very soon after a new player, a new team and we are off and running. It was the same with Manager Pearson at Saints. I thought he did well under the circumstances and was sorry to see him go. I have always believed in the youth and like many others, I have been converted to JP and his coaching/management style. More importantly after all the hype about Total Football, we are now starting to see his own style being produced on the park. Totally agree with your statement... The exciting team we now have out on the pitch. Long may it continue. Thank you JP and you can say, alright then, thank you Mr Lowe. There I said it.. Now get us sorted regarding the finances, please. -
Yes watching brief. Swimmer Adlington stated he gave a rousing speech a little like Churchill which she praised and then went on to praise her coaches, management, parents, schoolteachers, God and the whole group in the swimming structure including Woodward types already in place. My main point is not really aimed at his credentials or possible help to an individual or a team is that then and now the club could not afford him for something at that price would not have happened over night. In any case the Manager, coaches,Agents and particularly the player himself should be doing all this. No offence towards this man as we can prove this season we do not need him. Leave it to JP and his staff. Let Woodward coach our Throwers, see if that works without money.
-
To be fair all the reports about Jack Cork sound very promising and with MS we may soon forget about Andrew Davies. So money in the bank and still retaining quality. As usual we end up saying who was Davies. It was like Pearson tomorrow is another day and JP is now the main man. Onwards and upwards Nick.
-
No. PS I waited at the players entrance at Exeter but you didn't show. I was looking forward to a good balanced debate and put you straight on a few things. But I still think your a top Saints supporter... sometimes.
-
He was not.. He had a watching brief and apart from one or two minor speeches and words of encouragement to the odd individual was not deemed an influence. His position if he remains(there are serious rumours about him going to a football club) Most sports already had their own coaching structure even with Woodward types who are to be praised and encouraged not replaced as Woodward would instigate. Most of the sports do not want him near them. Cycling,Swimming and Rowing are examples how finance and good leadership have shown rapid strides onto the podium. Woodward is a clever mans Ramsey. The new Saints Manager is already streets ahead of Woodward because for starters he is a football man and knows football. Just my opinion on the information given to me.
-
I have wondered for some time about some of these supporters true love of Saints. Another player goes and suddenly he is no good. But we are ok because God is still here. Not interested in the Directors but as stated its good to talk sensibly and not forever with your bias towards Directors or a particular Director. The main thing is balance in order to keep us moving up the table towards that promotion place. Bring back Mr Corbett and of course Sooty.
-
Automatic promotion is our objective and deep down JP agrees with me.
-
I personally agree with the writer as do many of the well run sports. Not Saints connected(hope not) and never will be again. We did not need him could not afford him and hopefully never to interfere with our set up. Leave him to jolly hockey sticks and whatever. All spin and tripe.
-
My praise goes to the coaches and the players and if the Directors get a mention then reluctantly I would say you have many goes at appointments and you appear to have got it right with JP. That is hoping and praying that we continue onwards and upwards. Any mention of Woodward and Clifford brings me out in a cold sweat as it was far too much money for something that may or not have happened 4/5 years down the line with shed loads of money. Trust the fact that Woodward has had no imput for the sucess of this Olympics and apart from a few words of encouragement he has had a watching brief.Lets concentrate now on the set up and move forwards. We do not need him and in my opinion, as stated the cost made it impossible. I was a fan of Pearson and remain so but always felt that JP is with us now and I support the whole package. Well done JP more of the same from our youngsters and some of the old daddies.
-
apparently no sign of Steve Flood. Hope he wasn't avoiding you. Maybe he still owes you some money from school.
-
Very pleased with the progress of the side as a unit and the continued development of the youngsters. Very happy how White slotted in as if he has been in the side for many games. Great result for the team the fans and much praise for JP. More of the same to come. Looks as if Cork will be a very good addition to the side. Well done Saints.

Clueless..Now you are really starting to sound like my wife and like you she gets really angry. CB Out of curiosity, you said too clueless idiots. If I know I am one which Saints fan is the other one? Now breathe deeply and believe, as I do... Euro millions tonight and all are troubles are over.
