  1. Sadly nothing given away in post match interviews I have heard. You’d like to think that there is plenty going on behind the scenes!
  2. Matty - ‘ill’ and has not trained last few days Downes - still getting over his injury, hoping he trains this week BBD - locked hip, didn’t want to risk it Dibling - played 60 mins on his return from injury in the behind closed doors game that morning THB - not mentioned as we know he’s recovering from his surgery. Expected back 2nd week of August I think Smallbone - journos said picked up an injury but not discussed by Still. Aribo - Not mentioned, perhaps discussing an exit? Edozie - not mentioned, we know he’s close to leaving
  3. I’ve started watching this and did wonder the same. When they bought Birmingham though, we were technically a championship team already. Appreciate negotiations for that club will have started whilst we were a PL team. I’d also guess Sheffield United was the one. I did google but nothing online about that attempt. Davies comes across very well, impressive bloke. Rooney appeared to be winging it! Eustace sacking was ridiculous before the implosion. They will be up there with us this season for sure. I wonder what happens if they don’t reach the PL in the next couple of seasons, PSR must come into the equation soon.
  4. With or without Stephen’s extension, he would be staying for this season and be club captain. So the dilemma of if he’s a starter would remain. We still can’t rule out that his extension reduces his wages but covers a longer term, which would suit all parties. Spors two new incomings look to be new profiles for low fees and early indications are positive on their quality. I would judge our recruitment on incomings, rather than keeping a loyal player around potentially on wages that are lower but for longer - that won’t be what defines our season. Agree there’s still lots to do, but let’s give Spors his first full window to give some confidence we are going in the right direction.
  5. Let’s not repeat the trick, we have a derby to win!
  6. Don’t get the outrage at loaning Ramsdale, it provides us with a possibility of having him back should we bounce straight back. Either he does well and we get a fee next summer or he returns. The ideal situation is we go up and he returns. In the meantime we are getting his wages paid and £4m which works out as a breakeven whilst we figure out where we will be. It does pose a challenge for this season, let’s judge that when the window has closed and we know who our number 1 is.
  7. A welcome scouting report, thank you.
  8. I managed to get mine early too, fortunately the app ticket concern wasn’t a problem. Buzzing for this 😇
  9. I purchased Wrexham tickets to meet the criteria for this morning. I chose app tickets when checking out and the ticket is showing on each of our phones. However, the ticket is showing as ‘not yet assigned on the phone of member name’ in purchase history on Saints ticket website, even though I did assign the tickets to each member at the time of purchasing, which obviously worked as the tickets went to each of our phones. Is this normal? Just a little concerned if the ticket isn’t ‘assigned’ then I won’t meet the criteria to buy a ticket this morning!
  10. 🇫🇷🚨🔵EXCLUSIVE: It won’t be Club Brugge for Samuel Edozie! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 The Southampton FC left winger is close to joining Racing Strasbourg! Permanent transfer. 🗣️ Discussions with #RCSA & #SaintsFC are advanced. More details to come... #mercato #RCSA
  11. Transfermarkt have him valued at double that, 25yo, in a position we need. Sign him up.
  12. We did have links to a few keepers earlier this summer and we appear to know for sure Ramsdale is off with 5 weeks left of the transfer window. Lumley has gone so we need another keeper regardless. Hopefully we land on the logic that we bring in a new number 1. Loan with an option to buy to replace Ramsdale makes sense, keeps the flexibility there to bring him back if everything aligns. Someone like Rushworth (just joined Coventry unfortunately) would do for this season, someone with potential to be a PL keeper. Maybe we will tap into the German market again, the first 2 signings from Bundesliga look decent so far.
  13. I like this guy’s view that players like Bednarek leaving allow us to keep Dibling and Fernandes. If only that were true…
  14. I’m still pretty convinced it will have reduced his wages for a fair representation of the squad player status he will likely be over the contract period. I do agree the extension was unnecessary otherwise but that 3rd year is probably to offset those wages being spread out.
  15. Small sample size indeed, but both new signings look to be encouraging so far. Quarshie looks a starter already, which for £3m looks great value. Downs we need to see more of but a great finish today. imagine if Edwards and Quarshie end up being our starting partnership, only £6m combined!
  16. Is this because Alfie 100% expects him to leave this summer? Alfie did make comments about David Brooks wanting to move up north to be near family, which nobody else reported. Struggling to see what else has been written about Ramsdale or his close friends.
  17. Yes, that’s correct. I had to settle for the Kingsland near the away fans but would also have preferred a Northam ticket. Assume we can’t transfer seats once they open up the exchange?
  18. You do you @gio1saints, think I’ll just stick to ‘Quarshie’ or ‘Joshua’. It is an encouraging interview, saying the right things and has the raw attributes we were missing. Will be interesting to see how many minutes he gets this season, we have A LOT of options at present.
  19. I understand that we do have an option to extend his contract by another year. Not sure we should take up that option, unless we were to arrange a loan with wages covered and hope his stock rises to sell next summer. Having tried that with PSV and his stock actually drop, I’d just get what we can and move on.
  20. Can’t agree with this, GK was by far our weakest position. For 2 seasons running we had statistically the worst starting goalkeeper. Signing Ramsdale for £18m wasn’t the mistake, not signing another 4 or 5 players of that proven PL quality was.
