  1. I’d say Nathan Jones was the Poundland version of Juric. Juric’s experience might all be in Italy but he’s got teams promoted to Serie A and kept them there. Torino were very solid under him and not far away from Euro football at times. He was our first choice when we got Nathan Jones. Admittedly 6 PL defeats in a row and no points isn’t exactly encouraging but he’s walked into a team of championship players that have all given up because we are down no matter what we do. Apart from Mateus Fernandes who is the only player with real fight, determination and quality.
  2. How can we yo-yo if we get rid of the players that excel at championship level? Are we even going to make a profit on Archer, seems unlikely?
  3. The sooner we get an experienced and capable DoF in the better, we are just making it up as we go along this season.
  4. So we’ve built a team of top championship players to get us promoted when the inevitable happens and we are loaning them out now our relegation is confirmed with the hope they don’t come back? Can someone explain what we are trying to do here please?
  5. I’d rather have had Stu around than Lallana this season. Truth is neither are the answer anymore.
  6. With injuries to Dibling and Sulemana, would leave us a bit short. I would rather see Archer on the pitch than Armstrong. Let’s say he goes off to Leeds and does well, he’d have had 1.5 seasons in the PL followed by half a season being promoted in the championship - would he went to come back? I do worry that he doesn’t have the off the ball pressing ability required to play in Juric’s system though.

Sounds like we can only hope Spors gets a work permit and Henry Hoovers up some good talent for us. Our recruitment has sucked for some time.
  8. We seem to have Everton’s number so far this season but I can’t see us getting anything at the lest ever game at Goodison, as much as I’d love to piss on their parade. We did manage to spoil City’s Maine Road farewell, which was fun living up near Manchester.
  9. Of course we did! Thank you
  10. Decent saves to be fair to him. Agree a loan makes sense right now. Hull just lost Rushworth by recall, Gav would be a very similar profile option. Not sure if they could loan him and Taylor though? You’d want a championship loan really.
  11. Reports suggest we are confident of resolving but no timeframe given. Speculation suggests that because he worked for 777 and not a club directly, that’s why he hasn’t met the criteria set post Brexit and we are the first to fall foul of the new rules set by the FA. Whether our appeal is successful isn’t certain but I hope it does work out as his CV is very well suited to both our needs and the wider club model needs.
  12. Yes, Downes £15m (up to £18m) and THB straight £20m. But they are starters for us next season if they stay. Only one you can expect to go is THB who should only leave for a profit.
  13. McCarthy, Bree, Stephens, Taylor, Smallbone, SAA, Fraser all fine for the championship squad in my opinion. Reports suggest Aribo will leave this summer. I’d also expect ABK and Onuachu to leave too. I do wonder if Onuachu would be a beast at that level but don’t think we find out. Outside of the players you mentioned I’d also expect Sulemana to leave. Interesting to see if Wellington is any good between now and the end of the season. If so Taylor can leave.
  14. Guess going up has at least given us PL money for this season, which should help the numbers for next time too. We just have to yo-yo again, but can we do it?
  15. Is this part of 10 year Solak plan? Joking aside we will have more freedom to spend and hopefully some pretty clear lessons learned, should we be fortunate enough to bounce back at the first time of asking, again.
  16. No wonder we aren’t competitive, we have spent well below the amount required to improve the team to be remotely competitive. Fulham seems quite impressive but they had spent a lot on their previous visit.
  17. Wasn’t he the guy that destroyed Bordeaux? They are now in the French 4th tier. It really could have been much worse than having SR as owners, we could have our club leveraged with debt and never far from financial oblivion. SR aren’t the most competitive owners but we can thank Semmens for not selling to Da Grosa. Not sure he would have even passed the fit and proper test in reality.
