  1. I think we bring in: GK, 10, 2x wide players and if a loan comes up for a game changing ST, we might take it and shift one of ours on loan. This final week is where most loans happen and we still have 5 to use. Despite Dragan’s anti-loan comments I’m sure we will use some of those wisely.
  2. Fair comment, I’ll try and be more concise in future 🤝
  3. Appreciate the performances have not been good enough so far this season and today’s result, especially against 10 men adds to that concern. However, Still and Spors are working with a lot of uncertainty around our players and potential incomings. The squad is bloated and full of players that aren’t sure if they want to be here. We all know the final week of the window is where the majority of moves happen, for clubs of our size especially. Questioning Spors or Still before the final week of the window seems premature. Last champ season the final week saw us add players like THB and Downes, 2 of the best in the division that season. To suggest Spors isn’t up to the task for not bringing players in earlier is naive to our situation. We do not have full control of the market and this is just the reality of the transfer window. Azaz seems like one we can do if we pay £12m, player is interested and they reportedly would accept that fee. Boro winning some games early on doesn’t change the most likely outcome that they will be below us this season, it is not hard to see why Azaz would be interested (higher wages, higher chance of promotion). I’m going to judge our squad competitiveness on September 2nd and I’m sure having a settled group will help Still in general too. I’m as frustrated as anyone tonight but I’m going to wait and see how the window pans out before declaring we aren’t promotion challengers.
  4. Abysmal whilst generating the highest xG of the entire EFL in GW1. Frustrating game as it was, we were not abysmal, just found the breakthrough way later than desired. Ref does his job properly and we would have had 2 pens too.
  5. He seems certain Fernandes will be sold.
  6. Might that mean they don’t come for Fernandes?
  7. Usually on profit
  8. Unlikely to be Boro though as it’s being reported they are close to signing ex-Saint Matty Targett on loan from Sandcastle United.
  9. Early days and we are yet to perform anywhere near our potential given all the uncertainty and change. However, I have the feeling that he’s going to deliver. Just feels ‘right’. Comes across very honest and sees where the issues are. Hopefully Spors gives him the right tools by the end of this window to do his best. If so, we could be in for a great season.
  10. Love a surprise signing. It sounds like his best attribute is 1v1 defending and that he is suited to the high energy game we want to play. Perhaps a better James Bree? Certainly has more PL experience and has had runs in their side playing against the best teams in country and conceding less than a goal a game. The key question for me is how does that translate into our team. We should be the dominant side, rather than the ones doing lots of defending. Good 1v1 ability should suit Still’s high line. Does he have that attacking output required when playing a level down? We will soon find out! 26 years old, so best years to come?
  11. I wonder what the value of the bid Boro rejected for Azaz was, £12m apparently gets the job done.
  12. In summary, rejected a bid but can’t rule out selling as we might meet their valuation. Will play this weekend but can’t guarantee he stays beyond that.
  13. International manager would apply to Ramsdale and Fernandes only? THB won’t be anywhere near without Lee Carsley.
  14. Would be nice for this saga to end in our favour for a change, would do well to boost Spors reputation amongst fans. Can he deliver a player we shouldn’t really be able to attract at championship level?
  15. All about Mee? 😂
  16. Guess we are still in the race then. Should we actually sign Spertysan, what would that mean for Finn Azaz?
  17. 🇦🇲 Eduard Spertsyan 🇦🇲 is unhappy with his president's behavior, who had promised to let him leave if an acceptable offer was made. Galitsky has, so far, ignored Southampton because, for him, the English club is not a top-tier club. The player wants to leave.
  18. The offer is $16M + 500,000 in bonuses in case of promotion to the Premier League + $1.5M for staying in the Premier League next season. + 5% on the resale of the Armenian player. (@armeniefootball)
  19. 🤯🤯 According to Ivan Karpov's reporter, Southampton 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 has made an offer to Krasnodar 🇷🇺 for $18 million for Eduard Spertsyan
  20. In general it’s good to see our transfer window picking up pace, 11 days to go, as expected really.
  21. We’ve been linked with this guy before, not sure he’s kicked on as expected just yet but at this level he would be a decent signing. I recall him being rapid.
