we missed fonte at the back i think, our best defender! and we didnt take our chances, the game would have been over before pompey even scored the 1st goal if we had taken the chances. waigo, jaidi, lallana... 3 fantastic chances! u can miss that many against prem opposition when you are throwing everything forward u will inevitably get caught. im proud of how our players performed, blatant passion, good football at times. the reson we lost this one is not killing off the skates when we had the 3/4 chances. the 4-1 is what is gutting. we didnt deserve that. before the game we were the underdog, not expected to win. we tried our best, all u can ask! but when u look at 4-1 makes u feel sik! cos the players dont deserve that and it makes the skates actually look like they battered us when for 70% of this match league 1 southampton were ontop. late goals have been an issue but pardew has done nothing wrong today. i agree with comments that lambert should be in the box to score at corners. his own goal showed hes the 1 who can put the crosses home. but from this game we can be proud that we played well for the majority, tried our best and on another day could have embarrassed them with a shock win. it is the scoreline not the performance which f***s me off

hammond is being under rated, earlier this season people were sayin on here we didnt play well unless he played well... he has been injured lately and i think he is our midfield engine you are going on about. WHEN IS HE BACK FROM INJURY? also puncheon has creativity, flair and pace we saw tht at stadium:MK, as does antonio when he plays well. are midfield is not a weak point really. spiderman and lallana are class when on form. hammond is solid, and antonio and puncheon add so much pace, james has a cracking pass on him as well! imo we have alot of choice!
