  1. Interesting article. Says he’s 1 of many players Newcastle are going through & even though he doesn’t fit their recruitment model, the knockdown price might appeal. https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-united-offered-chance-snap-16636925
  2. He’s more likely in the Cédric / Hoedt camp.
  3. Arsenal set to sign Ceballos on loan from Real Madrid. So that’s their central midfielder sorted.

  5. Ralph interview: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/9560071/queen-fan-hasenhuttl-hopes-to-make-southampton-very-very-frightening-with-klopp-style-pressing/
  6. Is that not like on FM where players get % increases every year in their contract? No interested club could get to what he was on before the increase anyway, so Nixon’s report is a bit odd.
  7. Interesting... So that means he's not in #TeamFrozen : Lemina / [Formally] Clasie / Carrillo / Austin Does that mean he's in the Cedric & Hoedt camp of #semi-frozen-but-sort-of-thawed-out
  8. He probably wasn't fit enough for even for Mark Hughes Saints, let alone Ralph Saints
  9. Apologies, thought we were talking about Slattery.
  10. He's in the Macau 20-man squad, FYI.
  11. Nowhere near as good (or as expensive )
  12. I love watching Boufal, but beggars can't be choosers & that £9m might be able to get us 50%* of a centre-back. (* MLG pedantic disclaimer: I mean 50% of the value of a centre-back, not literally half of an actual human body)
  13. Can do both. Primarily a centre-back though.
  14. 14 August is when articles are time-stamped when it was announced.
  15. Imagine his wages are noticeably smaller too.
  16. Hopefully that's the permanent £9m switch that was mentioned last week.
  17. Clasie joins AZ Alkmaar: https://www.southamptonfc.com/news/2019-07-22/announcement-jordy-clasie-southampton-az-alkmaar-transfer (looks like Poch is the coach there!)
  18. Yeah, if you ever watch/read any of the scholar intake articles, the players mention where they've come from.
  19. I think van Hanegem even said he was worried about his physicality in the prem. I suppose we just needed shot of him in the end. His wages were always going to be massive for the Dutch league. Still paying a % of his wages is fair enough as it's only 1 year & he's absolutely nowhere near the 1st team. *Sigh* I remember Kante being linked that summer too!
  20. It is?! Source: http://sportwitness.co.uk/southampton-player-undergoing-medical-with-another-club-will-then-sign-four-year-deal/
  21. I'd completely forgotten Gao had an option for the remaining 20%.
  22. Always hard to tell. He & Ramsay could both be injured too.
  23. The point that I really liked was the approach to 'what can you get for 300k' when comparing players for the 1st team vs academy recruitment. So true. If 1 or 2 really catch fire than the potential returns are massive.
  24. A positive article?! Interesting we were in for Harvey Elliott.
