The point that I really liked was the approach to 'what can you get for 300k' when comparing players for the 1st team vs academy recruitment. So true. If 1 or 2 really catch fire than the potential returns are massive.

It’s an unusual situation where one of our big players has asked to leave & we’ve said “yeah, ok” - But the interest hasn’t been what he (& us) would want. He’s not been great but has his moments. Bit of a YouTube player. I’m sure we would love to sell him, but don’t see any of these large valuations being met.

Just gives us less time to sort signings out. I’ve no doubt players will be shifted by the end of the window, but there’s much more chance of them being loan deals then.

I think we’d take £4m at this rate. There’s no real credible link to Newcastle, though.
