  2. Expen$ive? It's not Musa is it? (Nigerian?)
  3. Just makes it easier to buy our players
  4. SOUTHAMPTON NEAR PUEL DEAL Talks remain ongoing between Southampton and the former Nice head coach Claude Puel as a deal to appoint him as successor to Ronald Koeman edges closer. An announcement confirming his arrival at St Mary’s will be made by the end of the week, according to Sky sources. The 54-year-old led unfancied Nice to within two points of Champions League in France last season and we understand that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger advised the Saints during the process.

  6. PALACE BID £31.5M FOR BATSHUAYI He's among the most coveted names of European strikers, but it looks like Crystal Palace are determined on winning the battle to sign Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi, according to Sky sources. Palace have made a bid of €38m and nearly two and a half times more than the £12.8m they paid for Yohan Cabaye, their previous transfer record. Batshuayi was linked heavily with moves to Newcastle and Stoke last January and he has since reportedly been the subject of interest this summer from Tottenham.
  7. Completely unrealistic.... But would be amazing!

    Euro 2016

Shop Window!! (I'd love to keep him, but if we haven't offered him a deal, I'm fairly sure we aren't going to let him leave for free next summer).
  9. I think there's still a large amount of debt owed to the major shareholder. There's a good interview by Adam Blackmore with Gareth Rogers that goes over it. https://audioboom.com/boos/3668264-listen-southampton-chief-executive-gareth-rogers-talks-to-adam-blackmore-about-the-club-s-financial-report-for-2014-15
  10. Regardless of squabbling over a million here or there, my point remains the same. If we buy right, we can make the squad stronger by losing an outstanding individual. (This point isn't valid for this thread, but the idea of going into a season without either Morgan or Vic sucks)
  11. Is that not really good news?
  12. I'm happier with the price at £36m. (Puts him above Benteke & Carroll which didn't sit well with me). I'll miss him. He provided pretty much every I hoped he would when Sky Sports 1st announced he was close to signing him 2 years ago. Hopefully we can use the money wisely. Don't forget, Morgan left for £25m and we got Clasie / Romeu / Van Dijk deals financed from it.
  13. The links with defensive midfielder's are now understandibly really ramping up
  14. Did he re-injure himself at the end of last season or not? I recall him not making the bench. I really hope he gets back to playing as (like you say) I have a slight fear about him. When a knee injury drags on, I start to think about Killer's knee. Hopefully we're wrong and he's back to form in pre-season.
  15. Sure people would have said the same about Clyney, mate.
  16. Guan or K.Billy said Klopp likes him some time ago on here. The sooner they get a left back on board, the happier I'll be.
  17. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-eyeing-atletico-madrids-thomas-8288574? (Loan deal with a view to join Tottenham in 12 months?)
  18. Now that's a fee for someone with a year left on their deal!
  19. If we manage to keep hold of Tadic & we do sign Kostic then it tells me J-Rod's days on the left wing are done & he'll be a central striker from now on.
  20. I suppose it depends who you listen to - assuming the club haven't offered him a new deal, I can't foresee us wanting to lose him for nothing next summer so I'm assuming we are actively looking to sell. We can't afford to lose many more IMO. I expect this to pick up speed as soon as the Italian euro campaign ends.
  21. LOL! Anymore sales likely? Or can we look forward to arrivals from now on?
  22. It took Liverpool until late July to pay the Benteke release clause. They would have buckled again with Mane & paid more.
  23. Paul Joyce on Twitter: Sadio Mane to have medical at Liverpool on Monday. £30m deal. Chris Bascombe:LFC’s £30m bid for Sadio Mane has been accepted by Southampton. Mane will have medical on Monday. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/06/26/liverpool-transfer-news-30m-fee-agreed-for-sadio-mane-switch-fro/
  24. It pains me that Liverpool would have spent more on Carroll & Benteke. I hope we add a sell-on clause.
