Any idea what we actually offered for Jay-Rod? I can't remember what was legit, and what was "ITK" on here. Lukaku would be unbelievable, but gotta believe someone like Everton/Wigan/Bolton would get the march on us for him.

Doesn't sound like Cortese to me, Lardy. With a player near the end of his contract, it just doesn't seem Nicola-like to want to 'break the bank' for him. I believe we had interest, but didn't bid due to our respective valuations being no-where near each other.

I think one of the people he p*ssed off was Nicola, so I think that pretty much rules him out of a return. Don't f*ck with the Don.

Might be some truth in those stories... I remember him saying something similar about Ipswich (in regards to the time not being right for him to move).

Was reading the paper today (and yesterday) and both times mentioned that Billy Sharp has a release clause of 1.75m which kicks in on January 1st. Cardiff/Leicester/Ipswich/Saints all want him apparently.

I think he's burnt his bridges with both Nigel + Nicola..... With that said, if he could get his head right & bridges were re-built, there is no doubt he could come back and make an impact for us in the league IMO.
