Why should we add in that factor? Every indication that he has given is that he is happy here and he certainly gives that impression.

precisely

On that reasoning we shouldn't be picking anyone as player of the season.
-
1. Lambert (crucial goals when it has mattered) 2. Davis (crucial saves when it has mattered) 3. Perm any one out of Harding, Lallana, Schneiderlin honourable mention - the rest of the team

I would brag about your predictions when they actually happen if I were you.
-
You are joking of course. When, even in the worst of times, did we only get 12k on a Saturday? We're not Pompey fans.
-
Nothing on earth ;-)
-
Well, if they come knocking we'll find out. I see no point in idle speculation. But I would put it to you that West Ham are not in a good financial situation so he will have to work on a shoestring. Do you see him going for that?

You owe the bank £5k and cannot pay - you are in trouble. You owe the bank £5bn and can't pay - the bank's in trouble. Clearly Murdock's principle and he has got away with it.

Blond guy "I'm this big a d1ck" Beardy Guy "..and I'm thi-i-is big a d1ck"

We lost 10 points but gained a billionaire. Seems like a fair swap to me ;-)

Compare the team that McGoldrick played in with the team Lambert is playing in. He is no Lambert but he did and does not deserve the opprobrium being poured on him on this and that rather sad "hate" thread.

Walsall should be applauded for their effort. I should imagine they are even more gutted than we are.

Can you make a judgement next Christmas?

I hope you collect your £720 but I think that 11-1 reflects the true odds -

It would depend entirely on the circumstances. If we had an unbelievable run of injuries after the transfer window closed and were depending on young and inexperienced players then we should allow him that. However, I would expect us to dominate this league next year but that will require us to deal with with defensive teams and poor pitches - something we have signally failed to do this year. But I am quite sure Pardew will address that and I fully expect him to lead us out of this league next year(sorry, I still don't think we will make the play-offs!) -
That is the whole point - it would discourage bids.

I am glad that you are not one of our negotiators. No doubt you would have sold Kenwynne Jones for 500k
-
It has passed the writer of this article by that we are now in a financially sound position and have absolutely no need to sell players. This means that we can ask a price for any of our players that most clubs, except the wealthiest, would baulk at. Even the wealthiest would still have some notion of the value they attach and will only continue if they accept that they are paying over the odds. The only real determinant is whether the player wants to go. I doubt if we would keep anyone against their will - but we wouldn't let them go cheap. Celtic can't afford Lallana and I don't believe that he wants to go anyway. I don't really detect any wanderlust on the part other players either.

To all those who think we can wait for next season for promotion

Wanting and getting are two different things. -
As someone who does not especially want to stand -getting on a bit! -I agree with this 100%. It avoids the conflict between fans with different expectations.

GS Someone's hijacked your account!!

Probably because of something he did in a previous life ;-)

Being passed by a white minibus on the M3 which had a sign on the back saying "Our driver's a Pompey Fan". I wonder what bet he lost??!!
-
It may have happened but it was not clear all round the ground. I could not hear it in 501. Anyway - how do you know it was clear all round the ground? - were you everywhere at once!!!?
-
It must have been in a specific part of the ground. I certainly didn't hear any where I was in 501.
