You have to put those signings in context of the time. Lambert joined a big club in a little league, Sharp joined us at time when we were odds on to go up to the PL, Jrod joined a team on the up for a shot at the PL, Pelle and Mane joined a team that had just finished 8th and had Koeman as manager. All of them, bar Sharp, joined us in the summer. Right now we are club managed by a relatively unknown manager, trying to sign someone in January and facing a real prospect of relegation. Our options are going to be limited.

No its fine playing him up front on his own as long as the other attacking players get up to support him. Who ever players in behind him needs to anticipating the knock downs and flick ons and running beyond him into the box.

Pretty much this. No one is expecting the next Zlatan but for a team that have been in the top 6 for crossing stats in the League every season bar our first one back it seems to be mad not having a target man, that is decent with his head, in the squad. He may not be the answer but at least it feels like we are asking the right question.

Generally I like to wait a few games before passing judgement on the general ****ness of a player....

I expected Gallagher to be in around the team this season as a replacement for Jrod but his loan was for the season wasn't it? So we can't use him even if we wanted. Given our circumstances we need to get another striker through the door.

Next job personal terms with player and agent then. Hopefully will get this done I miss us having a target man who is good with his head. It would've nice to see him stealing in at the back post to bury crosses like Lambert used to.
