  1. As opposed to now where we do the same without the hitting on the break bit ...
  2. A lot of people getting upset are the same ones who said the squad is to good to get relegated. If that's the case we shouldn't need any signings to stay up on the other hand if we do need signings to stay up the squad clearly wasn't good enough in the first place....
  3. 64 million in parachute payments... you genuinely don't think we can buy new players when we go down? we are just going to sell up all our decent players and get no new ones? There are no guarantees of course but relegated teams who have spent some time in the PL should have the financial muscle to get back up providing the will is there from those running the club. A lot of teams that come down like Sunderland and Villa are a mess behind the scenes, with **** poor infrastructure and big debts Saints to the best of my knowledge aren't in that boat.
  4. relegation...
  5. I don't understand why we wasted so much time on this if we weren't prepared to meet the release clause. Still people keep saying we have a good squad time for the players we already have to prove it I guess.
  6. you are Promoted clubs who are relegated after a single year in the Premier League will no longer benefit from full parachute payments from the 2016-17 season. The change in the rules means that the promoted clubs, Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich, will miss out on a year of parachute payments if they go straight back down at the end of next season. The parachute payments system is also changing so that the money – at least £64m – will be distributed to relegated clubs over three years rather than four. Clubs who go back down after a single year in the Premier League will get only the first two years of payments rather than the full three years. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2015/jun/02/parachute-payments-clubs-relegated-premier-league
  7. Never wanted him sacked. As far as I was concerned we had a decent manager last season given some bad tools to work with. Instead of keeping said decent manager and giving him the right tools we sacked him replaced him with a clown and still didn't sort out the dodgy tool kit.
  8. Sounds like Spartak have just been dicking us around then.
  9. We can't have offered what they want or the deal would be on wouldn't it?
  10. How many of them had previous loan experience in the lower leagues though. We will have the likes of Gallagher, Reed, Targett, McQueen, Olufela Olemola, Stephens and Sims who all have lower league/PL or big game experience. They could certainly do a job in the championship. Last time round we just had Redknapp hanging our youth out to dry to prove a point.
  11. Not sure the FFP league rules would be overly bad for us. http://www.financialfairplay.co.uk/financial-fair-play-explained.php
  12. If true I guess we weren't prepared to meet the release clause then. Seems like a whiler load of effort if we weren't prepared to pay the ask price.
  13. It's not the same situation this time though is it? We don't have a mortgage on SMS to service for a start. We have a decent number of youngsters that could do a job in the champ more so than last time. If we sell off all our best players and replace them with 90k of replacement ,like last time, then we will of course be ****ed.
  14. They already have signed someone the club PR will be that they signed a new record transfer this January and got a world record fee for a CB. But then who actually takes any notice of club PR...
  15. It's mad to think we were playing Hartlepool back in league one and they are now struggling to survive in non league while we are in PL.
  16. Exactly going down would hurt but by the start of next season I'd be over it and looking forward to the new season its not like I'm going to give up going.
  17. Whether its a disaster or not depends on how the club approach it spend money, buy up the championships top scorer get a manager who knows what he is doing in that league and we have enough to bounce back just like west Ham and Newcastle have done. Last time we went down we flogged everything not nailed down and spent 90k on Ricardo Fuller follow that pattern and it will be a disaster.
  18. The entertainment part is no longer an issue given our position. Now its just about results I don't care if we win a load of games 1-0 playing the most boring negative football possible as long as we get wins.
  19. Ha hindsight is a wonderful thing. You had no idea how administration would have turned out at the time We got very lucky we could easily have turned out like pompey, Stockport or Hartlepool. Luckily we got Les Reed and **** load of Swiss money.
  20. What would you rather we do? Being a football supporter is all about hope. Best thing we can do now is get behind the team there will be plenty of time in the summer to whinge about it.
  21. Normally the Swansea result would make me laugh....
  22. No Sanchez to get them out of jail anymore...
  23. I don't know But not everywhere is a fortress. The Hawthorns, in particular, is as close to a gimme as you can get for an away side. West Brom have a dismal record of losing 42 per cent of their games at home. http://demandnewspaper.com/premier-league-clubs-do-get-easy-games-and-you-dont-have-to-beat-teams-around-you/
  24. I love that Arsenal have had 73% possession but managed 3 shots less than Swansea
