  1. I wouldn't get to excited no direct quotes reads more like speculation.
  2. A lot of people have probably seen these but I only found them this morning. When you look at our season laid out in stats it makes bloody grim reading (no surprise I guess) but it highlights where we are going wrong so I thought I'd share for those who haven't seen them. https://southamptonfc.com/first-team#season-stats a few of the better/worse stats 24 goals this season (Harry Kane has 30 in all competitions this season alone) our shots to goals conversion rate is a 11% We've only won 46% of our aerial duels this season we've only scored one goal from outside the box this season any way worth a look if you want to get more fed up about this season.
  3. I hope they don't because I don't want to see a completely nude photo of Pamplemousse....
  4. I'm in two minds about this on the one hand I'm like "yeah right, my heart bleeds for you, poor Man city" and on the other "If Man City are feeling priced out on players fees and wage what ****ing hope has a club like saints got?" Pep: Man City restrained by budget Pep Guardiola says Manchester City are not always able to pay high transfer fees and meet player's wage demands as the club is operating within a defined budget. Alexis Sanchez, who made his Manchester United debut on Friday, looked likely to join City before they pulled out due to the cost of the deal, leaving United to swoop in under their rivals' noses. Sky Sports News understands Sanchez is earning more than £350,000 per week at Old Trafford, and City were unwilling to agree to demands that would have made him the highest paid player in their squad. Guardiola claims City cannot afford 22 'top' players as the Premier League leaders continue to fight on four fronts. He said: "When you want to handle four competitions sometimes you have to be lucky with injuries. Otherwise you need 22 top players for every position. People don't believe this, but today 22 top players is too expensive to buy, even [for] City. "Their salaries we cannot pay. There are budgets for the transfers and we cannot pay. In the future, it may change but we haven't paid more than £80m-£100m for one player. We cannot pay that right now, it is the truth. "That's why we need the academy to fight. Of course, we spend a lot money but it is the same money as a lot of other teams. I can assure you we are not the only team in the world that spend money." https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/pep-man-city-restrained-by-budget/ar-BBIjLZx?ocid=spartandhp
  5. #worldmostexpensivedefender
  6. Looks like I get **** taking rights at work this Monday with the plastic pool fans...not had many chances this season
  7. On the plus side looks like Westbrom have picked up a few injuries Now Jonny Evans has pulled up with what looks like a hamstring injury... Jake Livermore is struggling for West Brom but Alan Pardew is all out of substitutes.
  8. Ha just seen J-rods goals both well taken but Liverpool's defence WTF? they are all over the shop they make saints defence look like a well drilled Italian defence in comparison.
  9. Given our position I feel results are now more important than style now. Fun watching is well behind winning. Having said that trying to defend narrow leads with our current squad doesn't seem like the best way to get results.
  10. Well we won..not exactly convincing though.
  11. I imagine we would have looked a lot better with Vardy upfront instead of Long last season..
  12. Pretty much McCarthy isn't doing anything special just the things you expect a half decent keeper to do but it makes a difference
  13. I thought that watching McCarthy coming out for a corner late in the spurs game (Forster would have just stood on his line gawking) and taking the ball. I wonder how many points Forster cost us this season?
  14. Manchester City agree club-record £57m deal for Aymeric Laporte https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/manchester-city-agree-club-record-£57m-deal-for-aymeric-laporte/ar-BBIhD9u?ocid=spartandhp £57 million for an uncapped 23 year old...he must be some player
  15. Isn't it supposed to be ****ing down all day tomorrow..
  16. its just one more **** thing in a **** season along side Shane Long's goal scoring exploits, Forsters epic goal keeping and Watford's handball equaliser to name but a few..
  17. I'm pretty sure he hasn't said anything one way or another at least in public. You have to assume we wouldn't be pursing him if he had made clear he had no interest in joining us whatever. Some one potentially ITK further up suggested his agent is seeing if their are any better offers out there we are basically the fall back option.
  18. Well crosses shouldn't be a problem we have put in 502 this season the 4th highest in the PL.
  19. I don't think he is its just one persons suggestion. His name pops up every transfer window thread.
  20. Danny Butterfield used to put in 90% of his crosses from somewhere near the halfway line I seem to recall.
  21. This from article, from last season, says he does have a release clause so the idea we won't pay what Spartak wants seems wrong to me all we have to do is meet the clause surely? And interestingly, his Russian club confirmed this week the player has a release clause in his contract – thought to be around £20m – with Spartak general director Sergey Rodionov revealing: “We will try to keep him, but yes, he has a release clause. How much, I do not tell.” http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/media-watch/248012-liverpool-step-up-quincy-promes-interest
  22. I thought he had a release clause?
  23. boring and passionless has to go..
  24. Well the only thing I can take from his cameo against spurs is he bloody quick and his finishing skills need a bit of work.
  25. I bet they said Bofual was the mutts nuts and he has been a massive disappointment...
