Which scoring striker would you play?

It's a stupid question.. I've told you what I think should happen. How would I know what will happen? The only person who knows if he will be in the team is on Sunday is MoPe. If it was up to me Long would play for this game.

If it was up to me for this game yes. If we try to go toe to toe with Liverpool and play a high line with full backs pressed high Mane and Salah will **** us up. I'd play Romeu, Hoj and Lemina with Long up top for this one and drop Boufal and Gudio. Just because you are a record signing doesn't mean you become an automatic starter if the game doesn't suit you. Against teams where we should dominate the ball I'd play Boufal and Gudio but this game won't be one were we dominate possession.

Because he isn't very quick and the lower PL league sides do better when they sit deep and play on the counter. Which is a better fit for Long.

Well he is talking about dropping two players with a combined total of one goal between them ( bit harsh on Guido I know) for two players with a combined total of one goal between them so I'm not sure it makes that much difference..

The issue with play the best team is nobody agrees what that is...

Not me I said I didn't rate him even back then. He was OK going forward, in a team with a wealth of attacking talent for the level we were at, but he was an awful defender who struggled against anyone with even a hint of pace. I guess in the end peoples view of him will be coloured by what they think the main job of a full back is if its bombing on and putting in crosses then you probably rated him if on the other hand you think a full back is part of the defence and as such requires a modicum of defensive ability you probably didn't rate him that highly.

**** poor defender his positioning was terrible and lack of pace didn't help. Luckily for him (at least in the championship) we were a team on the front foot in most games. Totally found out in the PL when we had to defend a lot more.

Will our players be right up for this one? Having a good game against Liverpool seems to be the fastest route to a big fat Anfield contract.

I don't want the league cup or Europa scrapped those are competitions clubs like ours can aspire to win. Take those out and we are left with even less opportunities to win a cup or get into Europe.

If we only lose 2-0 it will be an improvement on our last meeting. In the end though its an improvement against the other bottom half teams that we need to stay up.

That's not how they are marketing it though the poor players are exhausted and it effects English efforts in the champions league (like fans of most clubs give a ****) it will help with fixture congestion (not sure how). They can't say its because the big six want to play money making friendlies in the middle east. I can see it being really unwelcome if you're a mid table side on a good run of form that is then interrupted by three weeks off.

Seems the PL is considering a winter break in the new TV Deal. Seems to me this is designed to mostly help out the big 6 with regard to European football.
