Sam Gallagher - Joins Blackburn: Official

If you were a Blackburn fan I imagine Southampton's strike force would probably look pretty impressive to you compared to what you've experienced the last few years.? -
Only team not to lose in the league this season aren't they? Defensively they are very solid but take out Kane and they look toothless up front. Surprised they aren't interested in Sturridge.
-
yeah followed by some sort of thumb sucking or baby rocking goal celebration to celebrate the latest addition to his brood.
-
In fairness Sturridge is much, much better than Carroll...
-
Because he is over 30 and can't manage to games a week as well as some younger members of the squad. He could play the Europa league games but then Yoshida will be playing all the PL games take your pick...
-
Surely he will be better rested not traveling? Fonte would be much better rested with his feet up at home rather than flying to Prague and back.. Seeing as he is clearly one of our two first choice CBs in the PL I really don't have a problem with him not playing Europa.

My phone news feed is full of this story this morning. The guy is a talent and scores goals. I think his record at Liverpool is close to one goal every two games from that point of view we'd be mad not to go for it. I first I thought it didn't look like a saints type signing but it could work like it did with Betrand or Romeu. The flip side of the coin is his injury record is awful he has only managed more than 15 league gamed once in five seasons at Liverpool ( though his first season wasn't a full season at pool) If we could keep him fit he could well be a signing to take us up a level on the other hand he could just be the most expensive sick note in the clubs history. Assuming there is legs to this story the club have a big gamble on their hands.
-
What's the alternative though? join league 2 and refuse promotion every season? Petition to join the Welsh league? The only way I can see to make football a level playing field is to turn it amateur with players playing for free and remove money from the sport altogether and that isn't going to ever happen.
-
Sounds just like a saints signing young with unfulfilled potential.
-
wasn't our commercial revenue smaller than Watford's a couple of seasons ago . I know the club have been working on improving that but that would have held us back in FFP terms compared to other clubs our size. We don't really need new owners what saints need is a couple of Man U level sponsorship deals
-
you're right we haven't been given a league number I assume selling VVD will drop us from a level 4 club down to a lvl 10 club or something...
-
and this thread is done a whole summer melt down thread in 3 hours... good work people
-
its like a thread by numbers.. only thing missing is a chocolate bar quip but that normally your department
-
Is it the summer already?

I think we can look forward to endless articles like that....

you and Always SFC are as bad as one another. It's like you to seek each other out on every bloody topic. Why you cant just put each other on ignore I have no idea. Also you should stop playing the victim card Always is a crushing bore but at least he has never called you a child molester which is about as low as you can go frankly.

Clearly not. The trick, which I think Puel is pulling off pretty well, is to blend the weaker and stronger players together and have a system that every player is well drilled in so that changes to the team don't have to much effect. If we just played our strongest 11 (and everyone has a different idea what this is anyway) every game we'd be on a hiding to nothing. We have a good squad we need to utilise it to get the best out of the season and I'm struggling to see why people are having a problem with that.
-
I think people need to get over the idea there is a first choice 11 and such thing as a weakened team. We have a squad which we rotate and so far in the cup and Europe it has worked well. Puel is going to make changes to the team that played against Liverpool but we have a good squad so it really isn't a reason to get upset.
-
It actually makes Glasgow look quite good in comparison...which is some feat
-
yeah you can tell Puel doesn't like Redmond... Puel said: "It is two men with the same possibilities, quick, a good ability in the technical and the run also. "I see similarities between the two with this ability to shoot with the right foot and to curl the ball. "He (Redmond) has this particularly, and he feels too the play and he can make a combination with his partner and can dribble also and make the difference for me. "(He's) a very good player and a very good surprise to find this player at this level. "I can see a player with all these qualities, and all these qualities in front of the goal also, so it's for me a pity to leave him out wide. "It's important I think to put this player on the better position for him and we will see in the future in the games he can play in this position with good talent." http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/southampton-boss-claude-puel-nathan-redmond-has-similarities-to-thierry-henry-34960135.html

It was a good result against a top of the table side while being poor ourselves (defence apart) can't help but be pleased... but than I'm I fan not a player.
-
was that during the period when we were way above Liverpool as a world footballing power....
-
yeah you could tell that by the way Koeman reverted to five at the back every time we had a poor spell....
