CONFIRMED - Mane joins Liverpool for £34m + £2m addons
doddisalegend replied to toe_punt's topic in The Saints
A few goals later and Mane leaving would now signal the collapse of any shred of ambition left by the board and the end of SFC.... apparently. Seems people are already forgetting he has been pretty average for a large portion of the season. -
I'm sure if the club accept an offer for Pelle he will be apocalyptic with rage....
-
Might have something to with the players not wanting to stay...
-
That's an interesting point a few posters are suggesting we make the likes of Vic and Mane see out their contracts and let them go on frees. So why would we not do the same with the manger (more so seeing as mangers don't command fees)?
-
can we actually offer the same wages as spurs or Liverpool under FFP....
-
Don't see it like that (semi)regular European football is probably the next five year plan that the club are selling to Koeman. Mane isn't going to be here in five years (in fact most of the current squad won't be) I think it is longer term than that.
-
Never warmed to him as a person but he is a decent coach if he ever wins anything he will become a very good coach. Still think he is a **** for the way he left us though. I don't have a problem with players and mangers leaving for bigger things but there is a right way and wrong way to do it.
-
Personally think we can do better. He and Bournemouth are a good fit, he was pretty average at Burnley, and I think Saints is to big a job for him. Given the clubs aims to try and secure regular European football I would expect they would be looking for some one with experience in that area.

Tottenham build up thread ...a question posed

mmmm the FA aren't going to let what went on in that game slide....surely? -
Nope not at all. We all write some right crap on here at times (and I include myself in that) it's quite good to go back over some of the more over the top threads at the end of the season and see who was right/wrong/ brilliant/moronic and so forth IMO.
-
What's the obsession with Howe? He was pretty meh with Burnley. He works well enough at Bournemouth but there he has a special relationship with the club. I think saints would be to big a job for him personally.
-
So it's that time of year when the season is ending we will finish minimum 8th and could still beat our record points total. A good time to return to a few old threads and bask in the warm glow of our words of wisdom....

The big downside of Leicester winning is the fans of every mid-table side going "why cant we do a Leicester?" like they somehow planned for this. The tinkerman even admitted his brief was to avoid relegation.
-
from the BBC It was an emotional London derby at Stamford Bridge on Monday night, with Tottenham shown nine yellow cards, the most by a single team in a match in Premier League history. Classy spurs classy...
-
Punch up in the tunnel according to the bbc... Classy spurs. They might have half their first team banned come next weekend LEICESTER CITY ARE PREMIER LEAGUE CHAMPIONS Posted at 21:57 Not so much class here now though - it's all kicking off in the mouth of the tunnel. It's a melee! Goodness me the FA are going to be kept very busy in the next few days.
-
Well done Leicester hats off to them

Jesus have you not been around the last two summers we are on for a third top eight finish in the last three seasons despite player and manager changes. Players and mangers don't stay at any club forever. Still I await yet another summer of saints fans meltdown when shock of shocks Victor buggers off....

and Delph was crap to. Maybe players will start to realise the grass isn't always greener on the other side (even if the pay packet is bigger). Bony, Delph (ok he is probably happy to be out of villa) and Sterling would probably all be playing regularly at their old clubs rather than being rolled out to play the odd game when the big boys are being saved for CL. Sitting on the bench week in week out can't do anything positive for a players development.

Well just goes to show the difference between highlights and being there. On the MOTD Clasie pops up twice once with a fantastic defence splitting pass to put Long on goal and once with a shot that went just wide I guess those were his best two moments yesterday.
