  1. I might consider Van Anholt at left back if we want to play 3 at the back on a regular basis next season.
  2. Probably to late to have much impact this season though. Hopefully a few games this season followed by a proper pre season and then a front three of Austin, Long and Jrod all on fire next season.
  3. Wijnaldum all day long just the sort of attacking midfielder we need. He is far to good for Newcastle and (slightly worryingly) has scored more league goals this season than any of our strikers....
  4. Saints and Stoke two pretty evenly matched mid table sides with inconsistent form through out the season means the home fans are normally the optimistic ones.
  5. You also have to factor in Lovern and Toby had the benefit of Morgan playing in front on them while at saints which VVD hasn't.
  6. usual sketchy stuff in the media http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/14324635.GOSSIP__Is_Fraser_Forster_a_target_for_Liverpool_/
  7. On another note does, anyone think players are abusing the head injury rule. Seems a few players have cottoned on to it as a good way of stopping a team breaking on them. Just go down and grab your head and the ref has stop the game then you can get up as soon as your team mates have re-set themselves...
  8. So exactly like saints then who penned Sunderland into their own area despite only having 10 men and scored
  9. Do we have an other option but to start Yoshida? Only other option is Bertrand/Martina playing as a make shift CB. Similar with Pelle. Unless Long is fit, we play Mane as a lone stiker or we play that academy kid we aren't blessed with options.
  10. Errrr well that's pretty conclusive.....
  11. Always amazes me how much CBs can get away with on big centre forwards Pelle gets man handled constantly with very little protection from refs ( Lambert was the same).
  12. Liverpool didn't lose a CB though. I can't think any of any manager, who goes down to 10 men, playing with 1 CB. Almost always you take off an attacking player and firm up the back. Seeing as we penned Sunderland back in to their own area and battered them after going a goal down with only 10 men I think you're being overly critical.
  13. Which is my point really according to that site we are, and have been, creating plenty of scoring opportunities all season we just need to take more of them. It also puts to bed, for me, the idea we are not getting the ball forward quickly enough or creating chances for our forwards it is more about our forwards not scoring the chances created for them.
  14. Yeah I'm really annoyed we didn't go for the winner after we equalised yesterday......
  15. to late he has already moved onto creaming himself over Westham and spurs these days....
  16. https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/18 looking at The whoscored website at saints stats this struck me as being particularly pertinent + Strengths Attacking down the wings Very Strong Aerial duels Very Strong Creating scoring chances Strong - Weaknesses Finishing scoring chances Weak Avoiding offside Weak Defending counter attacks Weak seems to me this has been our biggest issue this season one I had hoped signing Austin would change
  17. I'm pretty sure we beat them up there last season in the cup just after beating them SMS.
  18. Clear red all day long on the plus side we actually played our best football with only 10 men.
  19. Tell that to the Sunderland fans chanting his name all game and after.
  20. We were far batter than Sunderland yesterday even with 10 men we were better if we had had Long or Austin playing in front instead of Pelle we would have won easily IMO. Ron was left with a choice of two out form (and then some) attackers in Mane and Pelle or playing Juanmi and some under 18 kid up top.
  21. Did you see him against Chelsea probably the worst player on the pitch that day.
  22. Why do people spout this crap of course they could do worse.....
  23. Pretty much this I can't form much of an opinion on a player that plays 5-10 minutes here and there (which of course may be indicative of something). Until he gets some sort of run in the team it's pretty hard to say much about him. Seems people expect to come on and just be some sort of super sub which isn't very realistic. I would say today we looked more dangerous after he come on than before.
  24. Don't suppose Arsenal and Spurs can get a nice big point reduction for the fan trouble before their game I think -35 pts each would be acceptable....
  25. What a crock. There are no easy PL teams that's why people all around the world like watching the PL because games are general tough and close. It's no wonder half of SMS spends the whole game moaning and groaning when people just expect to rock up and win games easily. Sunderland are fighting for their PL life and were never going to be a push over. Yet we fought back from a goal down with ten men to salvage a point people should be happy with that.
