  1. I agree bring Austin on didn't help. What helped Watford attacking in the second half was Deeney coming on. He took up a position between our midfield and defence and they put balls into him all through the second half he was winning plenty in the air and causing us real problems which caused us to drop deeper. Hughes should have changed the formation to a three in midfield and had someone (probably Lemina in the absence of Romeu) man mark him I reckon but instead he did nothing.
  2. I know he was taken off for an injury. The goal was all down to Gabbi's quick thinking and long leg.
  3. Well that's fair enough just another feather in the Mark Hughes managerial cap then risking an injured player.
  4. While agree about Austin. Ings was turd he managed about three touches of the ball before he was subbed he had literally no effect on the game at all.
  5. Lemina, has been pretty good tbf
  6. Mixed bag. The rain here is not helping but we've been carved open at the back a few times and rode our luck to still have a clean sheet. Looking ok going forward, nice play at times, woeful finishing as usual. Lots of misplaced passes and mistakes from both sides.
  7. Terrible day results wise for us so far. Have to hold in a win this one now.
  8. Not sure it does....Reed or no the owners don't seem keen on splashing more cash. More than likely they will still pump for a nice cheap unemployed option when the time comes.
  9. Well we can rule out Les Reed..
  10. What you think they are super stoked to work for Ralph? Ambitious managers don't come to saints...because they are ambitious. No one wants this current mess of a club on their CV when much better jobs will become available to them.
  11. Well in every job interview I've done, as the interviewer, I had a very sound knowledge of the job I was interviewing for. In my experience when people interview for a job they don't have good knowledge of (or better yet actually done before) they tend to hire the wrong person and it doesn't workout to well....but hey maybe Ralph will get lucky.
  12. K billy is pretty sure it is.
  13. Joy followed moments later by resignation as we let the opposition reply with a goal of their own thanks to a **** up by Hoedt.....probably
  14. That would make more sense but K billy seems to be ITK and is clear its 4-4-2 which has been Hughes prefered formation.
  15. Why are you replying to your own post?
  16. I look forward to Paolo Di Canio or Sven-Göran Eriksson as our new manager soon then.....
  17. Having seen Ralph's interview in the Echo I wouldn't hold out to much hope for things changing drastically if I'm honest.
  18. an inside forward in 4-3-3 isn't really the same role as a winger in a 4-4-2 though
  19. How do you figure that? What that line up says to me is Hughes is running out of ideas and getting a bit desperate..
  20. It does increasingly look like Les's sacking was a spur of the moment thing rather than a planned change which doesn't fill me with confidence they are going to get this right.
  21. assumingly nothing to do with Hughes as he apparently doesn't take training..
  22. Well looks like he will be making the next couple of decisions, like who the new DoF will be, on his on his own though I guess he can get input from the wee ross and the board of people who no nothing about football....I'm hopeful Ralph will get it right
  23. Reading Ralphs interview in the echo I think he is safe for now though its Ralph speak so it could mean anything... This sounds like a long process, does that mean Mark Hughes’ job will be safe for a long period because there is nobody in the role Les occupied to take that decision if it were ever required? These are the changes we have made and we are very comfortable with the personnel and the staff we have in place and Mark is in the lead in the most visible of all football roles. We are expecting a change in performance and a change in results with some minor shifts we have done within the club. We are going optimistically into the game against Watford and I think that the energy we needed to make these changes was massive and we have expended that. It’s now about let’s appraise our situation and what do we have and then we make further decisions. I have gone through all the leaders of football in the different roles and we have a lot of good people in that environment and we will let them go to work.
  24. Well having read that interview all I can say is LOL anyone who thought sacking Les was the answer to all our problems I think we are in for a lot more pain yet...
