  1. His whole argument is based on the idea the super league will fail because is will be boring and uncompetitive although that hasn't done any of the top European leagues any harm so far. Surely the biggest richest clubs all in one league would be more competitive than the current set ups. Personally I'd be happy to see the cash rich big clubs **** off and use the opportunity to re- structure English football with wage caps, budget caps and re-form the academy system and beef up the homegrown rules.
  2. We had a much better manager then...
  3. Pretty much agree things have changed just need to get in someone to make us hard to beat that grind out results.
  4. Your assuming a year would sort things out it would probably take several years of pain to get the owner, board and players to **** off possibly more than one relegation to. If it eventually resulted in another era like the one after the last take over I could probably take it. Feels like we are ****ed either way I don't really have enthusiasm for us being the perennial PL whipping boys staying up each season by the skin of our teeth, with a team of **** PL players and an increasingly desperate set of manager choices.
  5. Worth revisiting this thread from when Hughes was appointed funny how quickly his support evaporated https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?59930-Hughes-Confirmed/page4&highlight=Hughes
  6. Now you've done it Mosin will be along soon....
  7. So an owner who couldn't really careless about SFC apart from a few business opportunities it opens up in China...great Doesn't really tie in with the club/ Kat's line at the time of the take over about getting someone to help invest to push saints on and build on our success... It sounds the club is totally bereft of leadership right at the top at a time when we could really do with it.
  8. That's got to be some sort of record for us over the last two and half seasons...
  9. My nipper used to play for Hedge End Rangers to be honest Wes would have struggled to get into that team..
  10. Pep great coach.... slightly odd bloke
  11. I keep it next to my pocket watch and snuff box...
  12. Its not what ever people feel about him he is just an employee. Change comes from the top which means the owners. Look at the statement above they are committed to the Southampton way and a self sustainable club if Reed goes they will just employee someone else to carry on the business model as it is right now nothing will essentially change.
  13. Meh I can't even find the energy to get upset about it to much now. Used to be a result like this would have me in a bad mood for days but after the last two seasons I've got so used to us being ****e I just sigh, shrug my shoulders and just move on..
  14. Maybe we could have a big version of this printed up and displayed...****ing lairs https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-08-14/katharina-liebherr-letter-to-southampton-football-club-fans Following extensive and fruitful work, we are entering into a partnership with the Gao family and I am excited about what we will achieve together. Today is the start of a new and exciting chapter for our club. Mr Jisheng Gao and his daughter, Mrs Nelly Gao, with whom I have built a close relationship, share our values and ambitions. As a team, we will strive to build upon the strong foundation that is in place towards sustainable long-term success. Mr Gao, Nelly and I have full trust in Ralph Krueger and his management team. We wholeheartedly support their plans to follow the Southampton Way in the years ahead. But for now it is business as usual at Southampton Football Club and we must allow everyone at the club to focus on the first few weeks of the new season. I would like to thank the passionate supporters of the club for their ongoing loyalty and faith, and I look forward to seeing you soon at St Mary's. We March On. Katharina Liebherr Statement from Mr Jisheng Gao I am honoured and humbled to become a partner of Southampton Football Club alongside Katharina Liebherr, who, together with her father, has been such a great steward of the club, its growth and success. Together, we have the passion and motivation to build on Southampton’s excellent progress in recent years as we look forward to an exciting next chapter for the club.
  15. Should we let Leicester have a buy in the cup? Doesn't seem worth the effort of playing them, if by some miracle we beat them we'd just get tonked by city in the next game..
  16. Adrian will be along in a minute....
  17. Whispering Dave on Solent was all for us giving it a go in 4-4-2. Cedric's pre match interview which according to blackmore was a dig at Hughes briefly dropping 4-4-2 also looks laughable.
  18. Ok I'm turning the radio off now.... This going to be a massacre.
  19. Have Ings and Long been near the ball yet? Listening to Solent I've only heard Hoedt, Bertrand and man city players names getting mentioned...
  20. 2 in ten this going to be messy. We literally don't have one decent defender in our squad its appalling
  21. According to Cedric they have been doing lots of work of defensive training the last few weeks...
  22. Lol we lasted longer than I thought we would...
  23. So big clubs certainly don't get treated differently... Football Leaks claim FIFA president Gianni Infantino 'helped' Man City and PSG escape FFP punishment The documents allege Infantino was involved in negotiations which enabled City and French club Paris Saint Germain to avoid strict sanctions for sidestepping rules regarding sponsorship income. The documents allege City were allowed to book three times more income from some Abu Dhabi sponsors than independent experts deemed the deals were worth, equating to about an extra 20 million pounds a year, whilst PSG's deal with the Qatar Tourism Authority was valued at 100 million Euros a year, despite being worth only a few million or less. If true, these arrangements would have helped to boost the clubs' income, enabling them to comply with UEFA rules that limit the losses clubs are allowed to incur. That, in turn, could have helped the clubs to spend tens of millions more on players than they otherwise would have been able to do, it is reported. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/football-leaks-claim-fifa-president-gianni-infantino-helped-man-city-and-psg-escape-ffp-punishment/ar-BBPgIaR?ocid=spartandhp
  24. If this European super league takes off in 2021 will their even still be a PL?
  25. Really where you at SMS last week? we are awful but trust me Newcastle where far worse they are first team to make Hoedt look like a defensive god their attack was so poor.
