I'll be happy with mid table (and being above the skates). Where we will finish who knows? I suppose half a dozen matches might give us some idea of the relative strength of the division. Looking at on paper there seem to be a lot of decent sides in this years championship.

How do we define best? maybe we need a list of critera we can mark out of 10 or something. Some of those managers listed had much more difficult circumstances to work in than Nigel has had to cope with. How would Nigel have done in the season we got relegated from the championship for example better or worse (well he couldn't of done worse). We'll never know what Pearson could have achieved if given time. APs time at the club was hardly a disaster IMO. Nigels done a good job so far but I'm not quite ready to give him legend status yet. Oh and I give him 2/10 for interview technique I just can't stand his interveiws

So were Barney and Lambert... that's kind of the point. Why will our strikers who were very good in League 1 not be good enough? when the players I mentioned above were no better than our strikers yet have performed well enough at champ level.

On the other hand you look at people like Grant Holt, Becchio, Simeon Jackson and Beckford none of which looked that great in league one IMO and three of them will be playing in the PL next season.

I have a problem with NC wages....Its not NC or Southampton though it's just football in general. I just find the way football has become all about obscence amounts of money dis-heartning. I doubt NC is earning anything special in terms of football chairmen these days and who can blame him for wanting the going rate. The amount of money that gets thrown around in modern football is ridiculous though when you consider it's just a game and other more important things in this country go without due to lack of money.

The thing is though at no point did the OP say Lambert was leaving, he only said he heard that Lambert's image had been removed from the away kit promotion....

Wouldn't that be the same if a PL team came calling, not that I think any are I should add, I just don't think it's worth putting to much store in what players say.

Not saying your wrong but I'd like to know your reasoning on that one. As far as I can tell the only way the club would be "our club" is if we had an Exeter style supportesr take over (not saying I want that if this place is anything to go by it would be a disaster). The club is still owned by rich people who are going to do what they like. If anything the new lot have even less accountability as there are now no share holders. I really don't see much difference between our new owners and old ones other than the new ones actually have some money to back up their talk while the last lot didn't.

Nothing would amaze me about football players these days, not that I think Lambert is going anywhere, but he said he was happy a Brizzle rovers too.
