  1. But those clubs that do have categroy one will be the likes of Arse and manure who will have free reign to scour the country rather than just their local area. As much as I love saints I think if it's a toss up between say us or Arsenal most players would pick Arsenal unless they're really against moving to far from home.
  2. While it might be good for saints, I can't see it being good for English football the top clubs will hoover up all the talent leaving the rich richer and the poor poorer so to speak. The constant attempts to widen the gap between the PL elite and everyone else is destroying football in this country. We may have the facilites but will we be able to attract the best at saints if ManU, Arsenal et al can now scour the country for the best talent?
  3. I was kind of hoping we'd been doing that all season............
  4. Fair enough shouldn't be suprised really. Takes me back to the days of MOTD when you'd watch the whole thing to get 30 seconds of saints highlights and a some snide comment from that **** Lawrenson right the end of the show.
  5. No thanks they are getting better as the season goes on we are stumbling a long picking up results without really seeming to get going, I think if we play them again this season they'll do us.
  6. Pitch fork and flaming torch at the ready...................... tbf I think we will all be ****ed off if we don't go up, kick some cats and point the finger of blame a bit. Then set about willing away the pre-season on player rumours. Turn up for the first match of a new season in league 1 full of hope and watch saints..........lose and off we go again.
  7. Didn't do hudders any good last season when they bottled it, if we have to go play offs I rather take on hudders than Posh.
  8. Hell No;)
  9. Yep I said it was hard not impossible. Truthfully how often did you care about pompey when we were in the PL and they weren't? I never gave them a second thought, It only came to the fore when they got back to the PL. Now we're in a lower division than them we care more but still I thought about them less this seaon than bompey. There is rivallry of course but it's pretty hollow if we don't actually play football against each other without football matches we're left trying to score points on crowd size or who won the most fA cups back in the 50s it a bit sad really.
  10. Interesting thing is (well to me anyway) if you gave us a 10 point penalty we'd be in roughly the same place we were last season. Yet last season was a faliure to many and this season it's a massive achievement. I have to say I think play offs would be a bit of an under achievement for me (I'd take it over nothing but still). I really thought we'd be like Norwich (once they got going) this season so I'm a bit dissapointed we haven't really stamped our authority on the league, still if we get promoted I'm sure I won't care.
  11. True but it's hard to have a football rivalry if you're not in the same league, if you're not playing football against a rival team all the posturing, songs and insults are academic. Personally I've loved seeing us beat bompey three times, best atmosphere in the league at SMS was created by bompey (maybe brighton) fans. Numbers, hatred and local = good atmosphere. I have no preoblem admitting that before this season bompey weren't on my radar from now on when ever we play (cup, league whatever) I want us to smash them, I want to put the little upstarts in their place at every oppotunity, I do care about them. I don't think I'm the only one either HTBH I just don't think others want to admitt it.
  12. I read it yesterday in the pink with my breakfast you came across as someone who does not like bompey fans or their club which is fine, what you didn't come across as is someone wasn't bothered. It's not you personally go over to 606 there is plenty of saints fans giving it the big "we don't care but were coming on your board to tell you that we don't care" going on lots of posters on here have spent plenty of time claiming they don't care. The more time we saints fans spend saying we don't care about bompey just gives the impression we do. The bit in red could just as easily apply to Pompey -saints as well to be fair all those years we were in the PL I barely gave pompey a second thought, I don't much now either HTBH next season if we're both in the championship I will.
  13. Read again I didn't say he should write nothing.
  14. The highlights where crap I thought we might see more of the match but no just lots of pointless fan interviews and such like. The punditry afterwards was even worse why spend so much time on the red card that had no effect on the game and came with only miniutes on the clock? Basically we end up with the same amount of football highlights as we always do, 30 econds of punditry (30 more than usual) and five miniutes of wasted guff when we could have had more football. Poor.
  15. Which basically proves you are bothered I really don't care if you write a whole newspaper on how you don't care about bompey. I just find it all very ironic that saints fans put so much effort into saying they don't care. A real sign you don't care would be to say nothing at all about them. Articles such as yours just give bompey fans the impression saints fans do care. A wall of stony silence would be far better. In fact a better way of showing that we're not bothered would have been a piece about all the great pompey saints derby games with barely a mention of bompey at all. Your entitled to write what you like but spending that much time saying you don't care just gives the impression you do.
  16. Ahh yes another saints fan that is so unbothered he pens a whole piece in the paper on it, it seems odd to me that so many people are so unbothered by bompey that they spend so much effort telling everyone they're not bothered...................surely if we're not bothered we just wouldn't mention them at all....................
  17. So do I it will be nice to have 6pts in the bag next season before a ball is kicked...................
  18. Amazing how people care so little about bompey that they'd go to all the trouble of typing that out..................
  19. Bompey have a reputation as a team that like to play it on the ground............
  20. Sounded like we made hard work of it but we won, at least we know what the saints style in now rubbish first half and good second half. Just wish other teams would stop winning I know we've games in hand but one slip up could be so costly now with all the teams around us in such good form.
  21. After I watched a couple of Nigel's first games I said we would score less goals and let less in. I'm not sure about the first but I think I'm right about the second. I have to say for all Nigel's talk about playing the game the right way ,for me, we are far less entertaining to watch than we were last season. It doesn't matter though becuase we will play nice football next season (except by then getting to the PL will be more important than the performance, so we will play good foootball in the PL except by then staying in the PL will be more important than the performance)
  22. I'll come clean.......... 2 best atmospheres at SMS this season in the league have been Brighton and dare I say it Bompey, OK they weren't anything like a pompey match, but being local(ish) adds a bit of spice as well as a decent number of away fans. It's not rivalry like we have with the fishy few it but it's a lot more fun than Hartlepool or Rochdale coming to town. I'll admit I care enough to want saints to smash Bournemouth off the pitch tommorrow, rub their little cherry red cheeks into the pitch and right royally shaft them.......there I said it I care (a liitle bit)
  23. upto page 3 of not caring now excellent..................
  24. I don't see how, next season Wednesday may well be the biggest club in league one but we'll be in the championship.........
  25. Really? saints average league attendence 21,615 sheff wednesday average league attendence 18,364 What ever has happened in the past we are the biggest club in league one right now.
