He must be. At first I thought it was Lambert not doing his job but this has been going on every since Nigel took over. If Nigel didn't want Lambert roving all over the pitch he would have put a stop to it by now, he hasn't so it must be part of the plan. Personally I would like to see Lambert in the box, having said that he does pass the ball well and seems to set up so many of our goals. Maybe if Lambert is in the box scoring more goals we will have less goals coming from the rest of the team?

You missed Lambert last season he was the golden boy but these days he seems to get all sorts of abuse down at SMS, oh and Chaplow has gone from hero to zero in a short space of time. On the plus side Forte is now a god and must start every match yet was being labeled crap only a week a go. Football fans = fickle?

Intrestingly my son and I were chatting with his (hopefully) new under 11s football coach the otherday and he said something to my son that seems quite relevant to Guly along the lines of (and paraphrasing a bit) Plenty of people can play football and be good with a football at their feet, you can be good becuase of your speed, strength or size but what makes you really good is making the right footballing desicions. Thats Guly undoubtly he is good with a football some of his skill is sublime. However his descion making is highly suspect which what stops him being really good footballer. I don't really buy the if only his team mates where better thing either. He has been at the club long enough to get used to his team mates and the way they play for that to be a poor excuse.

Yep I think thats a fair summary

More like 5-6 minutes I don't think I've every agreed with Derry about anything but we really were not that good until we scored. We won and the final 30 was really good but the idea we were playing well and were un lucky to go behind is false IMO. Also I can't agree about Harding maybe if our players were actually getting into the oppositions box his crosses would be more effective they were a good deal more dangerous that Butterfield's aimless cross field passes to no one in particular. At the end of the day we turnned it around and won and left SMS hoarse and very happy, 3pts move on hope we give the diamond a rest.

Interesting piece in the pink today saints have had more shots on target than any other team in all four divisions, and in our team the player with the most shots on target is one Rickie Lambert. What ever his fualts he brings a lot to the team. As for not being in the box it frustrates the hell out of me but it's being going on so long I'm assuming it's what Nigel wants Lambert to do otherwise surely Nigel would have stopped it by now? -
Well we could go on like this all day, (other than the first 5-6mins) the midfield was over crowded resulting in lots of aimless heading, punting and general undtidy play. What ever pretty stuff we played was wasted becuase no one was in the oppostion box to do any damage. The subs changed eveything (all credit to Nigel) and the last half hour we were much better. End result good game happy warmi feeling but lets not pretend we were playing great football for the first 55 minutes becuase we weren't.
-
No we really didn't.I take you managed to stay for the whole game this week? no snaking this time?
-
Yes it did make me laugh while we were losing the SMS faithful was baying for blood becuase MK Dons were time wasting. Then at the end when the ref added time for it everyone was upset becuase we were winning. Can't have it both ways can we?
-
You'd think people would want to clap the players off at the end of the match after a comeback like today? I know I did.
-
In fairness we aren't champions that's going to be Brighton........ Also I don't think anyone was enjoying it until we scored the match is best summed up as 60mins of meh and 30mins of yay. In the end we all enjoyed it and went home happy 3pts on the board but was anyone really sat back enjoyinhg it at half time?
-
Does it matter? Martin O'neil is better than both them........................... Personally I find Nigel rather irratating but as long as were winning I don't really care.
-
It probably was against the run of play but we never looked like scoring lots of effort no end product (first 5mins we looked good) then it was a lot of aimless punting, poor balls and a packed scrappy midfield. Dons are a much better team this season too got some pace.
-
I found his dress sense quite funny looked like he'd just come off a scouse council estate after TWOCing a Ford sierra. Still glad to see he has become more magnamous in defeat. He has also turned the Dons into a much better team than they were last season under Ince.
-
Well they wouldn't have been if someone had got in the box and tried to put them in the net most of the time their keeper had plenty of time to gather those crosses up becuase no one was there putting pressure on him. Look what happened with Fortes second someone was in the box the kepper fluffs the claim on Hardings cross and goal.
-
But he didn't use his super quick speed ..............he just kind of stood in the box and tapped the ball in the net (something none of our other players seemed to want to do)............. you made him sound like he was going run down the pitch like a gazelle Turkish. Where was the speed?
-
We were good first 5mins then we huffed and puffed without really threatening far too many stray passes or aimless punts great crosses from Harding but noone was actually in the oppostion box to do anything about it. Poor marking for there first goal and Butters couldn't keep up with the guy for their second. Subs changed everything Dale brought some calm to the midfield with some decent passing and Forte managed to do what our players had been struggling with all match which was to get himself in the box. We won which is great. The crux of this thread though is people aren't allowed to be ****ed off at being 2-0 down at home after 50mins which is quite frankly ******....
-
Why were you sat around me?
-
what was? everyone around me a SMS was annoyed and less than impressed by our performance before Forte changed the whole game.

As we're Lambert bashing again today he did in fact provide the assists for two out of our three goals today. Yes he is slow, yes its frustrating when he is out on the wing instead of in the box, but he is our top scorer again this season and he is a great passer of the ball and not bad with his feet for a big bloke. If he has been avaliable he has played which suggests that the manager sees something in him our fans don't. As for the diamond ..meh I'm a dinosuar give me 4-4-2 with nippy wingers banging in crosses it seems thats the way players are most comfortable with. -
In fairness I was there and we were s hit (oh look yet another aimless crossfield pass to no one, fantastic) until Nigel made his inspired subs. Maybe Deppo should have been at SMS getting upset with all the saints fans there who were ****ed off........... I reckon some of the posters on here would still be laughing and smiling as someone fed their c ocks through a garden shredder ..........Honestly most football fans get upset at being 0-2 down I find the ones that don't to be the odd ones HTBH.

Which begs the question wht is he not being picked a head of Harding?
