Brentford 0 - 3 Saints - Post Match Reaction
doddisalegend replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
Having just looked on the hudders forum most of them still seem to think were going to blow it in the last two matches and all the pressure is on us. -
It's football deserve doesn't come into it really. If we go up auto I'm rooting for Bompey in the play off as having Us, brighton, bompey and pompey all in the one league would be great close away matches plenty of spice (huge chips on shoulders)..........yes please.

Aren't last games of the season always very well attended? I can't believe anyone was surprised by this.

Ditto -
That would be good. Wouldn't mind seeing him in a saints shirt one last time (I really don't expect him to be here after the summer HTBH)
-
Good hope not. He can be frustrating to watch but he seems capable of unlocking defences in tight games wouldn't want to lose him with two games to go.

Is there any news on why Guly was subbed today? Solent said injury. Is there any other info or is the club doing the usual playing cards close to it's chest thing. I rather have Guly trying to unlock a 10man Walsall defence if it comes to a final day promotion push than Gobern (not that I have anything against Gobern I just think Guly would be more use).

Correct I was one of the the few people who turnned up to watch that match on a fecking cold day, in fact Gobern scored twice that day and had one ruled out for no good reason. -

Great win never in doubt against an injury hit Brentford. Not bothered about hudders as I had then down to win anyway. I can see us blowing it at Plymouth but walsall at SMS no chance. Personally I like the idea of sealing it on the last day with another win. Well done to Kelvin on the peno Also Gobern on scoring his second for saints -
Making that tit Holloway all upset was good too "PL you're having a laugh"

well you've picked the two best. Chaplow's goal against ManU was ****ing good though

The much Maligned Rickie Lambert this season

According to the OS he has 12 assists. What are you angry about? -
The much Maligned Rickie Lambert this season
doddisalegend replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
I hate to say this (becuase I hate it when people throw this in your face) but if you go down to SMS on match days you could here some the crap that gets thrown Lambert's way. My favorite is the guy in the chapel who keeps calling him a one season wonder. Also there where plenty of posters before christmas calling for him to be dropped, why doesn't he try harder? and saying his confidence is shot. -
Wasn't it Orient the other week where we end up with a back four all made up of CBs
-
It's not going to be a big list this year IMO. We culled something like 14 players at the end of last season I don't think there is to much dead wood to get rid of this year. They might like to pay up Lee Holmes's contract though.

After last seasons out standing season, it's been noticable that our No.7 has come in for a lot more criticism this season. A couple of things I've read this week make me think that we as fans (me included) may have been a tad harsh on Rickie this season. Firstly according to the interview in last saturdays programme (and parphrasing a bit) he was carrying a knee injury for the first half of the season which he admits effected his ability to train as hard as he need to resulting in his fitness levels dropping. His reduced fitness meant he struggled in games and his confidence dropped (according to rickie himself) apparently he has only just started to get back into shape and get his confidence back, he admitted he had not had a good season by his own standards. Second looking at the stats on the OS Lambert has the most apperances, the most goals, the most shots and the most assits of any saints player this season. So despite being unfit for half a season and having a crisis of confidence he has still managed to play more games than any other player, score 19 goals, have a 155 shots at goal and contribute a load of assits. I salute you Mr Lambert if you can contribute this much to the team when only being half fit and lacking confidence. I think other teams should look out next season when you're firing on all cylinders.

Ehhh??? football is opinons and all that but really? Have to say from what I've seen Martain is far better than Seaborne.
-
On paper this should be the easiest of the three games at a team with loads of injuries and nothing to play for......................yeah get your point.
-
Surely it depends on if we go up or not? There was a matchday programme interview with Jaidi recently were he said that Nigel has asked him to stay another year so imagine we will see Jaidi in a saints shirt for another season at least.

Jose Fonte - Saints Web Player of the Season
doddisalegend replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
Not sure that means much. Look at the stats on the OS Lambert has the most apperances, the most goals, the most shots and the most assits of any saints player Fonte is also the top of some stats most fouls committed and most yellow cards. If were going to use stats for this Lambert should be player of the season, Fonte should be dirtest player and Lallana should get nothing at all............. -
Make the most of it I say in a couple of weeks we have a long football free break to (not) look forward to, when I no longer have a valid excuse to not do the shopping, or gardening or DIY. When this place becomes one long HCDGJFU thread followed by the dissapointment of not signing anyone on the thread. In fact looking at that way the play offs might be best as it gives me a couple more weeks of football........................then again I think that me be going to far even for me.
-
I'd be happy for it to go the wire the atmosphere at SMS will be electric if we have to do it on the last day......
-
Surely in reverse? "we're as a good as down, bloody hell we've stayed up again"
-
It's the championship thus a bit harder so 4-0 will suffice next season if we go up.
