  1. Well at least this might quiten down all those who want us to sign and extra 7 strikers,14 midfielders and two extra goal keepers every transfer window as cover becuase they think we have a bottomless pit of money. I'm not going to worry about this I assume that NC and Markus's family know what there upto with regards to the clubs finances.
  2. Really? 10 quid or are there supposed to be be some 0000s on there?
  3. Exactly people are remembering the BT of 2003 eight years is long time in football he is not the same player now.
  4. I think it's more likely the ticket prices will go up and the ticket tax will stay......... things cost more in the championship.
  5. Err no thanks BT was class back in the day but as they say never go back. One of the good things about new era saints is we have dispensed with over paid journeymen looking for one more pay day and started building a team of players who seem truly grateful to be playing for us the likes of Hammond, Lambert, Dickson know they're onto a good thing at club like ours. Jaidi and Harding are grateful for the second chance. While youngsters like stephens, and chambo think this is good place to progress. BT would just be here for the money living on past reputation lets just remember him as he was rather than ruining it with a return that would most likely end in acrimony
  6. Never thought about it, but were would you put it at SMS?
  7. At last the voice of reason. I really don't have a problem with NC liked somethings he has done, been less impressed with other things. What really gets me are the little band of uber fans on here that get all wound up the second they sense anything less than 100% NC lovin'. Quickly turnning even the smallest throw away comment into some sort of personal attack against NC. Football chairman should just get on with the job and keep quiet after a shaky start thats what NC is doing which makes him a good chairman IMO. I still think singing songs about him is gash though.
  8. Erm yes OK. Personally it's not an anti NC thing it wouldn't matter who was chairman it's a wierd thing for fans to do IMO. Still I'm sure NC sleeps easy in his bed at night knowing you've got his back..............now you can back to scanning the boards for anything else that might be considered anti-NC and rush to his defence if it makes you feel like a real fan.
  9. erm Dickson wasn't in the league one team of the year at all............. Other than that fair comment, last night was the first time I haven't seen Dickson bottle his challenges or get muscled of the ball on a regular basis HTBH.
  10. Interesting I thought they got forward a lot less than Harding and Butterfield, Richardson in particular didn't seem as attacking as Butters. Dickson played his best game in a saints shirt I thought.
  11. With that reasoning we should have songs about Gladys the women who clean the chapel bogs, she may have not scored many 30yard screamers but she has an important job to fufil. Or Bob the bloke who sells you your half time pie and pint thats a really important job. What about the physio, chief scout or groundsman? all important in their own way. Football fans sing about players thats the way it's always been and always should be. Thats not meant to take away what NC has achieved (with Markus's money) but it a simple fact that singing about your chairman (or any other non playing member of staff other than the manager) makes us look a bit sad.
  12. I thought we were all chanting red'n'white now?
  13. I'd rather be where Brighton are...........
  14. A few claps maybe, abit of booing certainly, a verse of he stole from the skates but a standing ovation? not in the chapel there wasn't.
  15. I think I'd like to go back to red and white stripes if I'm honest. This years kit was a nice change for the 125 year but somehow saints not in red and white stripes seems wrong IMO.
  16. Was my imagination or was there a bit of disagreement in the Northam about singing OWTS last night at one stage we had the slow and breakneck fast (along with loud banging) versions seemingly being sung at the same time.......
  17. I don't think Nigel works like that, look at Forte people were saying after saturday he should get a start, yet he didn't even get to come on as a sub tonight had to watch David Conolly get a run out instead.
  18. I thought we played really well tonight much better than saturday. Some really slick passing out there tonight. Stephens looked tidy if unspectacular, a bit like Hammond really (that's not a dig Turkish). I thought Gobern looked very good when he came on he is pretty quick, good passer and read the game well making some good interceptions. An excellent one handed save from Kelvin in the 1st half and some good distribution from him. Defence looked solid I've not been a big fan of Dickson but he had a good game tonight so fair play to the lad. If I had to be picky I'd say Chappers passing isn't improving he puts a lot of pressure on the team with some really poor passing. Also our crosses were poor tonight far to deep and when we did get them right the Charlton box was rather devoid of white and red shirts. All in all good game and 3pts whats not to like?
  19. No still going
  20. We always seem to play better in the second half and we almost always play towards the chapel in the second half. My nipper actual reckons that saints save the goals for the chapel end so we get a better view of them (oh to be 9 again)
  21. So a draw tonight then................
  22. Cool hope to see him get a run in the 1st team next season then. Nice to throw some money Plymouths way too (I feel for any team going through admin now, well any except them down the road) though not sure how much a 150K helps them out. Might let them pay the players I suppose.
  23. I think I heard us play 'The saints are coming' at the beginning of the second half on saturday but it might of been my imagination............
  24. Well I think it is. According to a piece in the Pink before the MK Dons Match Saints have 267 shots on target this season in the league. That it an average of 7.42 shots on target per match. and is the highest shots on target per game average of any league team in any of the four divisions. The player to have the most shots on target for saints is Mr Lambert (not really a surprise). What the hell that means in the context of how we're doing as a team I have no idea. Still thought it was interesting and worth sharing.
