  1. oohh can I be the charity? it's the "Doddies kids are costing him a bloody fortune this christmas" appeal
  2. Of course there is the development squad, If we're seroius about bring the youth through surely we have to give them a chance, might shake the seniors up. For all we know Doble might be the answer to our prays I don't know why we haven't at least given him a couple of half matches or something. I suppose its a high risk strategy compared to just buying someone in?
  3. best for everyone I'd have thought, like a poor mans papa for me.
  4. well yeah, can't really do much to change that though without time travel, are you suggesting we make gradutes now pay say the same debt as a student of the class of 1960? Life keeps changing there is no point complaining about how easy previous generations had it. At what point did people start assuming life has to be fair all the time? It isn't, has never been and probably never will be.
  5. yes it's getting to the point I wouldn't be sad if he did go as long as ne brought in money for a good replacement. I feel bad about that too after last season, if someone had told me his form would drop this badly in the summer I'd of laughed in their face.
  6. and relegated Actually it would be interesting to know who scunny fans think is responsible for their fall down the table. The present manager for not making the most of a team Nigel got the best out of, or Nigel for leaving them a team of no hopers that were quite good last season but are now not up to it.
  7. What you can't have friends older than you? I know nothing it's just the first time I've heard that Pardew might have had a connection with the dark forc.......I mean Lawire
  8. This ^^^ I imagine Lamberts stock has dropped like a rock this season though, end of last season would have been the time for him to move if he was going.
  9. Was Pardew mates with Lawrie? if so it's no wonder he got the boot.
  10. a) Maybe you should of said that then. Instead of trying to go for the sarky put down. b) At want point did I say that my experinces had anything to do with the national picture? c) My life experinces have an effect on my opinions. Do yours not? I've read through this thread and you've had a lot to say on this subject. I don't know you verbal but you're very knowledgeable about this subject so I'm assuming you've spent a lot of time in HE (judging by the amount of times you've mentioned it I'm assuming Oxford) you've probably had to deal with 100s if not 1000s of students every day over many years and quite clearly have met many examples of fine upstanding young people with a thirst for knowledge and life. I'm quite sure this being the case helps to shape your opinions on this subject. d) I'm well aware my grasp of the English lanaguage is poor, It come from having dyslexia. Sadly I grew up in a time when such things were little reconisged being 14 before it was discovered. I have tried very hard since that time to overcome it however even now my written language skills are below par. At one time people taking a pop about would have bothered me but being in my thirties and having done alright for myself (own house, management level job and great kids the whole middle class dream) I now find it quite funny (and a little sad) that people try to use it to prove some sort of superoity over me.
  11. Shouldn't that be Pardew eyes Joses misses? surely if the rumours were true the last place Fonte would go is anywhere near AP.
  12. 15 years of working with them is good enough for me, as as you can see I used the word most not all I'm sure you can dig up some examples of excellent 21 year old students you've worked with and if you can good for you doesn't make my experiences any less valid .
  13. The problem is alot of post gradutes come ill equiped for work, I've worked with quite a few uni students and recent post grads. Most of them can talk with some intelligence on the chosen degree subject but have little common sense, a chronic problem with time keeping (mornings in particular) and little or no personal initative. It's hardly their fault school, college then 3-4 years at uni (living the lifestyle late nights, later mornings and 10-15 hours of lectures a week) just doesn't equip them for life in the full time workplace. Oh and on the whole they interview badly as well. I can see why they would miss out job wise to those with life experince. The best students/post grads I've worked with have been mature ones who have a bit of life experince before starting uni.
  14. The problem is HE has become a bums on seats deal, the goverment have (and are) cutting funding in a big way, the only way to make up that cut funding up is to get as many paying bums on seats as possible the result is HE trying to cater to what the masses want rather than the more traditional degrees. For example when I started working at my place it had seven science Labs now it has none, it does however have a lot of performing arts provision becuase thats what is wanted by the masses. The goverment policy will only encourage more students of ****poor intelligence if it means the universities get paid they'll take on anyone. From a purely selfish point of view I want the fees so that I and my work mates don't get laid off, the more students being milked for cash the better for my job security.
  15. That explains a lot.
  16. We were 2-0 down couldn't really get worse, yes our subs might not have been the ones Nigel wanted but trying to change something was better than doing nothing IMO. Just maybe Gobern and Doble and Martin would have grabbed their chance and played hard to impress Nigel (which the team on the pitch wasn't). If not we would have still lost anyway but nothing ventured nothing gained.
  17. Well if he doesn't want KD then bart should be moved up to no1, but really if NA was that unhappy with KD I'm sure Bart would be the regular keeper by now.
  18. I'd go with this, considering our strikers. Try and give our midfield the chance to dominate the centre of the pitch more than they did saturday. Then with 20 mins left introduce Guly and Oxo to run at the wallsall defence and go 4-4-2. Is chaplow fit though?
  19. This coming from the guy who got upset last season because Swindon were above us in the league? I must say I'm impressed by your complete turn around this season the new mellow go with the flow delldays eh.
  20. Did he really say that? I'm disappointed if he did. I thought Barney has been injuried all season? and Lee Holmes is made of glass has been the whole time he has been here.
  21. It's not just this game it's Carlisle away and Hudders away too. Times when the manager looks a little short of ideas and the players a little short of the of the kind of guts they need to get us promoted. Also the performances we've put have been putting in recently despite winning, have been pointing to the kind of shambles we saw on saturday. There's still time for Nigel to sort it out a couple of wins and things won't look so bad. However for us to be laying in 9th at this point in the season really isn't good enough.
  22. Well I'm sure the op will come along a clear it up for you, if it's bothering you that much.
  23. really? I can't say I've seem much difference myself Lallana was class last season, Barney doesn't look close to getting as many goals as he did last season (although I accept he is injured)
