On the Football league show last night they said he was being chased by PL clubs and metioned he might be going to Birmingham. If it was a choice between PL or us I can't see him coming here.

Harding every time. A left backs first job is defence and not many people get past Harding. Every time I've seen Dickson he comes a cross as light weight and easily pushed off the ball by big strong players. Going forward Dickson is better (although Harding isn't bad in that department). Dickson was a LW at Plymouth he only started playing LB at Brentford personally for me he is a better winger than a LB.

Well it's about time, but at last the team is starting to play and win the way they did in the last third of last season. The way we all know they can play and win, hopefully this is the start of a really good run now and the frustrating first half of this season can fade into memory. Well done boys and well done Nigel great results all over christmas now lets rip the league to pieces for the rest of the season and go up as champions (oh and winning the FA cup would be nice too)

ah from Orkney? now I get the viking refrence. I think Chaplow is just what we've been missing in midfield.
-
While I know what your getting at with Alpine. I was at the match yesterday and wouldn't agree with that statement (Chaplow was my MOM closely followed by Lallana) so does being at the match make a difference 22,000 people were there and there are probably 22,000 different opinions on the game.

Well the trains ran a sunday service, however when I checked a couple of days before it was a normal saturday service online. It was only when I got to the train station I was told it was a sunday service as it was it didn't make any difference. I know it was news years day but it wasn't actually a bank holiday was it?

I always say the same about Dickson and Harding. I always plump for Harding becuase I want someone who is a defender first, If he can get forward well all the better but first and foremost he has to be a good defender.
-
was that all? SMS seemed much fuller than normal.

Sadly players need to play for more than 30 when were 3-0 up. Morgan was pretty invisible for large parts of the match at times it looked like Chaplow was playing CM on his own Chaplows energy levels and ball wining have been something we've missed for some time. Morgan is technical very good, but he too often looks like he would rather be some where else this season.

Good point, not exactly an area we're short on Adam or Jason at LM I know which I'd pick.

Yes but straight after Tranmere at home came Hudders away where we tried to play it out from the back and got destroyed. The Longer ball game (but not a purely long ball game) seems to suit our players maybe Nigels decided to play to the players strengths rather than force them to play away he likes but the players don't?

Good match, getting into second is excellent. Pros Chaplow MOM for me his energy in midfield makes such a difference. Lambert looked more like his old self unlucky not to get a goal, at least one Exeter defender will be nursing a bruising after getting in the way of Lamberts shot in the second half. The second part of the second half we looked totally in control the football was a joy to watch. The defence looked very solid, which was good becuase Exeter had some good spells of possession in both halfs (Exeter played some execllent football I thought) Cons Missing Lallanas goal becuase I had to take my 5 year old to the toliet........ The atmosphere was a bit flat (to many hangovers?) despite a good sized crowd. Quite a few chances went begging, we still need to be more clinical in front of goal at times. There were times when Exeter really gave us the run around in midfield (they had two good periods of possession in both halfs) Ryan Harley (no 7) of Exeter, people have touted him as a HCDJFU on here so I kept an eye on him fraknly I didn't think he was anything spiecal (couple of little bits of skill) certainly not better than Morgan. We have to keep this going now the top of the table is so tight one bad result can see slip down several places.

This ^^^^. No real difference at all from last season from what I can see when we play well we get it down, play it around and we destroy teams as we did today in the second half. Other days we have played poor aimless punting this season just like we did last season. They showed the top ten goals of 2010 on the big screen before the match today some of the goals from last year were brillant and totally dissproved the "we only played long ball last season" some people spout on here. For me the football is the same the expectations are just a lot higher.

Chaplow - signed a 2 and a half year deal - OFFICIAL

This^^^ not many people get past Harding. Dickson is a bit light weight for me gets pushed off the ball far to easily. He started as a winger and only moved to LB at Brentford. Personally think he should go back to the wing and leave the LB postion to Harding (and Mills) -

Good I Like Chaplow, his passing can be a bit wayward at times (mind you that could be said for a lot of our players) but he has energy and grit. When he loses the ball he tries hard to get it back. If we really got him for 50k thats a hell of a bargain. -
The motives are all important. A right wing and left wing goverment could end up having a similair policy for totally different reasons it's the reasons that make all the difference. I think we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. Thanks for the discussion though it was interesting.

Hitlers economic policies were those of the third postion which is supposedly neither right or left. Hitlers oppostion to capatlism was based on his belief that it was a front of international jewery not on the belief that he should make the life of the lower classes better. There is more to left and right though than economic policy. Ultranationalism is a far right policy and Hilter and Nazism is ultranationalistic and thus right wing regardless of his econmic policies which were there not to better the lives of workers but to put Germany on a war footing, again the waging of aggressive war to further your country at the expense of others being considered a right wing thing. Now if you were trying to convince me that Stalin wasn't really a socalist I'd be right on board
-
The autobahn much like the westwall was built with the upcoming war in mind that would allow the master race to prosper at the detriment of other lesser races, as Verbal pointed out left wing politics promote internationlism Hitlers rightwing politics did not. Hitler was brought to power on a promise of a better economic future he had to reduce unemployment early on until his postion was secure if those projects helped make Germany better equiped for war so much the better but there was no particular interest bin the 'Workers' as you would expect from a left winger. No left wing politican would ban trade unions as Hitler did, the soviets certainly didn't (though they did bring them under closer goverment control) and they were just as authoritarian as the Nazis.

Good point. I should have drunk it with joy knowing that my sacrifice was allowing the children of the land to get all that full fat gold top, making all the chidren in the land fat and ripe for a heart attack later in life.
-
I'm not sure slave labour counts as job creation, certainaly not very left wing. On the the other hand the RAD were quite a good idea, using the unemployed to provide public works is very in line with todays right wing thinking. Also unusally for a left winger he recived large amounts of cash from many industrialists in his early political life including (apparently) Shell the oil company. Also how many left wingers ban trade unions? and reduce unemployment by removing certain sectors of the population as eligiable to work (ie Jews)?

One of the best things she ever did, I hate milk and being forced to drink luke warm milk every day at school was like fuking torture.
-
really? just becuase he called himself a national socialist there is no way he can be described as left wing, though granted extreme left wing and right wing policies can overlap to a point. Any political movement that seeks to promote a strong nation through war ruled by a small social elite is hardly left wing.
-
I can think of a view supposed left wingers who don't fit that profile Stalin Lenin Pol pot Kim yong il Mao Tse-tung On the other hand certain right wingers had a bit of trouble controlling their emotions for example Hitler Mosley (having affairs with his sister-in law and mother in law as well as marching on cable street show no lack of emotion to me, he is prehaps a bad example though as he he was a socialist before he became a fascist so who knows what his brain was like) Goering (was a morphine addict and spent time in a mental hospital, where he was described as unstable (no kidding)) Margret Thatcher never seem to have a problem with emotions anger in particular And where does it leave all those with middle of the road views who don't make snap judgements based on left and right but weigh up each event in life? do they just have bigger brains than everyone?

Adkins - Now looking to win the league Were we not looking to win it before then?
