Not true Bompey are doing better than us with a team that cost pence compared to ours. It's not just about buying loads of players it's about the players putting the effort n we have one of the best teams in the league if they can be arsed, sadly they have far too many can't be bothered days.

Exactley he never asked for freebies he offered to pay for his tickets and for Carlilse tickets as well (which he said he can't go to anyway) so in fact he's paid more for his ticket than I did as a ST holder. Really MLT is a legend if it wasn't for him this club would have been in league one years ago, we would never have got the PL facilities or history (that MLT provided us by keeping the club in the top flight for so long) that attracted NC and ML to buy saints in the first place. Really if he wanted to buy 10 tickets (20 tickets if you include the linked tickets) then I really don't see the problem.

That is in the present tense i.e. We already have good competition for places and have delt with the injuries,suspensions and dips in form by rotating our squad. That statement doesn't come across as Nigel saying we need to sign more players becuase Lamberts form has dipped (although Nigel hasn't dropped him once that I can think of so it's debatable) and Adam is out for a couple of weeks. I don't see how that statement supports your theroy we need extra players to cover an impending glut of injuries and suspensions at all. I think prehaps your case isn't that rested after all........

So where are we going to get this Adam Lallana clone from then? Adam is a class player, I very much doubt we are going to find a replacement for Adam that wants to play in league one at a price the chairman thinks is acceptable to pay for cover until Adam is fit again.

some points When is a squad to big? you've named five strikers how many do we need? yes **** could happen but the idea of buying more players just in case **** does happen seems wrong to me. As you point out we're building for the future so do we want to bloat the squad up with players we can get now or wait until the summer see were the club is (hopefully promoted) and buy then when we have more players to chose from. Panic buying in Jan seems a sure way to fill the squad up with wrong'uns to me, of course if a player of real quaility wants to join us now thats fine by me, but I imagine the best targets would rather see what league we're in come the end of the season first.

Thats the problem how many good players want to come and sit on the bench? Do we even want players at our club if they are happy just to sit on the bench. TBH these postions (4th choice striker etc) should be getting taken up by our up coming youth/devolpment players other wise how they ever going to progress?

And yet no one has offered one shred of evidence, If this is all happening the club should name and shame. However they won't becuase no one has any hard evidence that would stand up it's all heresay and rumours. We seemed to have gained more teams, Brighton weren't in our area last season, oxford weren't for obvious reasons, and I'm pretty sure Cheltneham weren't either. Not much saints tonight (0-0 draws are not great for highlights) got Puncheon and Jiadi mixed up. Spent more time saying how well Brighton are doing (yawn).

I see the BBC late kick off show starts again at 11.05 tonight. Quite enjoyed it last year nice to have a football programme that concentrates on local teams (well localish).

There were a few times were to me it looked like Kelvin was looking to play it out quick but there was nothing on, after that he would take a bit of time to get his kick right. TBH the goal keeper issue is similar to our poor throw ins in that our out field players don't seem to make themselves avaliable or try to run into space they just stand there like lemons.

He wouldn't be injuried if we had rested him for the Oldham game, in fact I think the club should rest our first 22 for all our matches just to make sure none of them pick up any injuries................................

Thats what gets me Lambert never seems to get any protection from refs (not just this one) oppostion defenders can practically rugby tackle Lambert and refs don't seem to notice.

I was there and honestly I didn't think we played that bad, mostly we lacked that final touch to put it in the net. Every time it looked like we'd broken through the Notts defence the last pass was poor. Pros The defence looked solid I never felt like county were ever going to score. Cons Notts county kicking chuncks out of Oxo all afternoon when they realised they couldn't stop him fairly. The ref seemed determined to help county break the game up being very whistle happy. Also why is it Lambert can be held, pushed and climbed all over by oppossing defenders with no penalty? Dickson was terrible his passing was very poor (he wasn't the only one). We had a guilted edge chance to win this game but Guly went for glory rather than the easy pass to oxo who was compleately unmarked for an easy tap in.
