  1. really? regularly? lets take an example since the mid 1960 we've beaten Man Utd a whole 19 times in all competitions in 100 games https://www.worldfootball.net/teams/southampton-fc/manchester-united/11/ bit better against spurs 31 wins in a 103 attempts in all competitions https://www.worldfootball.net/teams/southampton-fc/tottenham-hotspur/11/ hardly seems like regularly beating them to me.
  2. You never came on here and saw loads of posters going oh yeah we will do Man U, spurs or Chelsea etc before a game even when we where doing well.
  3. I really don't remember a time when saints fans expected to beat any of the big six. We have got some good results against them since we came back to the PL but I still don't think we all thought we would get a result pre-match.
  4. Seems the Danish national manager has noticed a change in Hojs attitude. Southampton player now acting for team “and not just himself”, http://sportwitness.co.uk/southampton-player-now-acting-team-not-just-turbulent-time-club/
  5. Weirdly this morning when I read it I thought it said unimpressive centre backs guess that was my subconscious reading it...
  6. No surprise we are second to bottom a damning but not wholly underserved verdict on saints.. Verdict: the division's most generic side http://www.espn.co.uk/football/english-premier-league/23/blog/post/3647791/premier-league-style-of-play-rankings-put-manchester-united-in-the-danger-zone
  7. I think I would have prefered it he had sold everybody, if I'm honest, rather than watching the same culprits doing the same stupid things week after week.
  8. A lot of people on here do seem to think signing a player or manager is simply a case of saying "That's who we should get why hasn't the club done it yet?" as if every player and manger out there is just chomping at the bit to a Saint. Now there are probably plenty of players and managers who would happily sign for saints (just about everyone in league 1 and 2) but they aren't the sort that the fans want to sign.
  9. Nah the momentum was lost when Koeman left and the take over started. The protracted nature of the take over stalled the club and it hasn't managed to get the engine started since. Being taken over by a guy without a pot to **** in and no clear plan or ambition has killed us.
  10. Makes me nostalgic for the lower league days (well Dean Wilkins aside) after the take over it got to the point when it was actually surprising when we lost a game. Now its a ****ing surprise when we actually win one.
  11. Got a decision to make for this game as its on sunday I have decided whether to watch my son play U18s Sunday football or saints. On the one hand I can watch some talented footballers, playing entertaining football, see a few goals, some inept reffing and load of players playing at a good tempo with passion Or I can watch saints.... Tricky one..
  12. TBF Most of those at home where taking their lead from Blackmore and Merrington two blokes sat at the game giving a less than glowing account of saints performance especially the defence.
  13. Who the hell takes a cabbage to a football game?
  14. So assists in cup games don't count during a season?
  15. Change of formation, change of personnel no major difference. We scrapped by Everton's second string on Pens and made hard work of it. If it was a league game we'd by cursing another 2 pts dropped. Quite why Hughes persists with trying to protect 1 nil leads when we clearly can't is beyond me. Surely we'd be better going for the jugular at 1 up and try get a second instead of inviting teams on to our **** poor defence.
  16. **** of Walcott you ****
  17. They have VAR?
  18. God Lemina is confusing he can look sublime at times and league 2 level at others often in the same game.
  19. Jesus Everton going for the kitchen sink attack formation.
  20. Oh FFS Hughes deciding to sit on a 1 nil lead why?
  21. Oh look our defence is rocking, midfield is being out fought and our forwards non existent we are so **** these days.
  22. A game short on any quality for either team.
  23. Listening to Solent Goodison has all the atmosphere of a morgue..
  24. Didn't stories about the take over surface while Koeman was still manager? The take over was protracted as well. The club went into a holding pattern while the take over was on going and never really came out of it.
  25. Shurlock and Always in agreement about something **** me never thought I'd see the day. Next job Benjii uniting North and South Korea...
