You write well but your aggressive, confrontational style does you no favours. Insulting people with whom you disagree does not enhance your opinions. You have clearly travelled extensively and lived in interesting places. They are not however bastions of democracy and free thought and imo we should not try to copy them. We have a different outlook on human rights and long may we do so. A genuine question with no implied criticism.... When you lived abroad what attempt to integrate into local society did you make? Are you now fluent in Arabic, Thai and Vietnamese? Did you live in "Western style" places or in neighbourhoods populated by local inhabitants? Intergration into a new society is not easy.

What are the odds that the Donald will pull out of the race? Harris is now neck and neck with him in the polls. He won't be able to stand it if she starts to build a significant lead. Rather than accept defeat he could just pull out of the election. Ill health could be the excuse offered. If he loses the election the odds of him going to prison in future years get a lot shorter. In return for standing down he may be able to negotiate for the charges against him being dropped. This may very well be unlikely but don't discount it completely. In the last few weeks there have been some very unusual events in US politics. This could be another one.

What you say is perfectly correct but when choosing a leader you need to know in which direction they will take the party. You can't wait until 6 weeks before the next election to doscover that the apparently normal person for whom you voted is even more right wing than Duckie.

I don't think it is the same thing. People from say Devon wbo support say Liverpool presumably do it to support a team that often wins, that features often on tv, that has Champions League football and goes on to win trophies. Anyone who supports Saints has a much harder time and imo needs to be applauded.

Does Biden quitting make a Trump presidency more or less likely?? I can see arguments both ways. For a long time it was said that Trump was too divisive and that anyone other than Biden could beat him. Was that true? If so is that still the case?
